We did a road trip from San Francisco to Los Angeles via Highway 1 and we stayed overnight in Monarch Resort. The room is very comfortable, the room large - 2 queen beds, breakfast is continental. Coffee and tea are available inside the room. There is the television for my husband who cannot sleep without watching something. There is a vending machine should you need snacks. There is a receptionist in the lobby, even when we arrived very late - I think the receiving area is manned 24/7.
The restaurants are a short drive away, nothing within walking distance. At least when we arrived which was late already. The open shops and restaurants are at least 2 miles away.

Breakfast was nice
bed and pillows were super hard and uncomfortable. Bathroom had someone's long dark hairs on floor. Must not have been cleaned. Toilet was all scratched up inside

We love this place so much. So clean. Best location. Nice staff. Sure, it’s not the most updated…but who cares. Rooms are huge, walls are thick and value is crazy good. Even free breakfast! Don’t go changing Monarch! We love you!

La suite était parfaite avec en plus la possibilité de faire du feu le soir. Très bien situé. Le ménage est très bien fait et le petit déjeuner est copieux. La piscine et le jacuzzi étaient fort agréables et bien entretenus.

The bed spread was super slippery and fell off the bed. My mother went to bathroom in the middle of the night ,stumbled over it, hit her arm on the night stand and had to be taken to the hospital. Bedding that stayed on the bed would have prevented this.

room old style, clean but not nice for the price. Breakfast very late so wasn't able to use. Called the front desk no answer. Walked down and looked like it was a different phone the wasn't turned on.

The staff were not friendly and the person who talked to me at the front desk when we checked in, would talk over me and wouldn’t let me finish asking my question before answering back.

Refrigerator might be upgraded because of the noise and sometimes with wrong freezing function in non freezing area.

The continental breakfast had a great variety of items to choose from. The room had plenty of space to enjoy breakfast. Offering breakfast was one of the reasons I selected the Monarch resort for our stay. Many hotels in our price range have discontinued this perk. It made traveling with my elderly mom more convenient and a great start to our day.
The staff member wasn’t friendly or welcoming upon check in. Although she answered my questions she wasn’t warm and engaging. This wasn’t the customer service experience I expected.

Sehr hellhörig. Man hört jeden Schritt aus dem Nachbarzimmer aufgrund der Holzdielen. Über dem Früstücksraum liegen auch Zimmer. Wenn dort jemand gelaufen ist, hat es beim Frühstück ordentlich geknarzt.
Renovierung könnte mal vorgenommen werden.
Die Punkte haben uns aber nicht gestört.
