Not much, the room was good sized.
They were renovating and there was a musty smell throughout the hotel like water damage and cockroaches running around. Front desk said there was nothing they could do about it. Breakfast staff didn’t want to keep up with the demands for breakfast in the morning, ie they would only put out 3 muffins at a time and only refill the eggs on the half hour it seemed even though they would be gone 5 minutes after they put them out.

Breakfast was the only functioning aspect of my stay consistent with my past experiences at other Holiday Inn hotels. You should advertise this facility as a breakfast restaurant not a hotel.
No manager on duty to whom you could complain -- only 5 employees on rotating shifts, not consistently present who stared at you when you mentioned a complaint or pointed to a sign explaining lack of services due to renovations. Absolutely no proof of renovations being done -- no workmen present, no construction vehicles in parking lot, no construction noise. Room was cleaned only once during a 4 night stay -- no housekeeping staff on duty.

The housekeeping person who could speak some English was a nice guy and tried to do his job despite having a really crummy employer and work environment.
Horrible decrepit hotel. Over the course of a week:
1. Rooms throughout the hotel (see other reviews) including ours were very damp and musty smelling. No improvement over the week.
2. Upon arrival, two light fixtures, one phone and the safe were all broken in our hotel room. Only one item was replaced. Safe remained out of service throughout the stay (apparently must needed batteries) despite promises from staff that it would be taken care of.
3. TV channels on the set and the remote are out of sync.
4. Laundry facilities were unavailable and have been for some time.
5. Hotel often ran out of foods during middle of breakfast – juice, coffee, pancake batter, eggs, etc. and not replenished even as early as one hour before meal ending time. Pancake machine often malfunctioned.
6. Pool water and lining unclean. Chains often on gate to pool area several hours after it was supposed to be open.
7. Management presence non existent. We were told the manager was “in and out”; other guests told the manager was simply “unavailable”. Lower level staff got a vacant far away look in their eyes when we asked for the manager – like we were talking about the Tooth Fairy.
8. No visible vending machines. Food for sale in the lobby pantry very sparse.
9. No guest clerk usually available at front desk. Had to wait about 10 minutes for the clerk to appear upon arrival.
10. Internet slow and spotty. Had to login repeatedly. Completely unaccessible from Business Center.
11. There is no “weight machine” in the fitness center despite the posting on hotel website.
12. Room was worn down with filthy carpet, stains on the wall and tattered towels.
13. Hallways are NOT actively being renovated. A renovation apparently was started and has ceased mid-way months ago. We saw no evidence of work being done over the course of a week. Shoddy torn apart hallways are just the “new normal” at this hotel.
14. No linens provided for pull out sofa so we had to ask. Only a sheet and

The main floor bathrooms were awful. only one stall available in the Womens and it had water leaking from the toilet all over the floor. the sinks were hardly usable. handles broken off and soap dispensers not usable.
AND we were overcharged for our stay at checkout!!! Of course the front desk blamed Booking.com, but our confirmation with Booking.com stated one amount and the front desk overcharged us. Now we have to wait two weeks for our refund!! Very disappointing!!

The room we booked online was not available when we tried to check in. We had to be moved to another room at a larger price which was inconvenient.

the side door was usually open, we had trouble with our room keys not working. TV schedule in room did not match actual channels, very frustrating as we were hoping to watch a NHL championship game that was on a major network channel not available.

The front desk clerk at this HIEX was awful! Rude, unhelpful, sexist. Manager unavailable. Had to call corporate. Breakfast hostess was great.

We stayed for the F1 race in Austin; the location offered a respite from the chaos...close to a large grocery store and other necessary retail stores. Despite the volume of guests, the staff was VERY accommodating, friendly and professional.

First of all they overcharged us on the rate that y’all gave us. The elevators were out of service and they put it on the fourth floor. The two ice machines I checked weren’t working.

The beds were comfortable.
Before even walking into the hotel I knew it wasn't going to be good. The landscaping was horrible. The dead bushes were hanging over into the handicap parking. We checked in and the second I opened the door to our room I smelt the mildew. I looked up at the bathroom ceiling and it had mold and mildew all over it. The stopper in the sink was rusty and there was hair in the sink. The next morning I tried to take a shower and couldn't get the shower to come on. The bathtub would fill but the shower would not come on.
