Location was great. Since renovation was on going there was a bit of dirt & stuff in elevators but amazingly quiet considering work was happening on 2 floors. I thought I had been assigned room with balcony but was on other side of building. This was not such a big deal, just a bit disappointing. Breakfast was good & the folks working in kitchen area were very helpful & nice.

Extra pillows would be nice.

There was no full length mirror in the room.

It was all right, we had a good time. ,The bed was very comfy.

The pillow is very hard, and the heating system is very loud and disturbing night.

A prime location like this could rest on their laurels and business would flock in anyway. The staff clearly go above and beyond and have created a very warm and welcoming environment and service that exceeds expectations. We look forward to coming back.

The breakfast was by far the high point. The cook in charge during the 2 mornings I was in the breakfast room took great pride and care in her work and was very attentive.

The hotel desperately needs an upgrade and repairs. Birmingham is expensive and the Townsend and Dexton are twice the price. The location is convenient, you can cross (albeit busy) Woodward and walk downtown for the same price as hotels farther away in Troy. We checked in late and were given access to the wrong room configuration, had to swap. That room's air conditioner leaked all over the carpet during the night. Moved to yet another room on another floor and the shower floor had come apart (?!) in a way I didn't know fiberglass could do. All rooms were very clean, just old. The beds in both rooms we used were lumpy, hard and even the pillows were awful. And although I have dietary restrictions that prevented me from consuming 99% of the breakfast offerings my traveling companions loved it- varied selection and a hot buffet.
