Housekeeper was honest.

Staff attitude. Nonverbal and verbal language horrible, racist, sarcastic, jealous and trying to be little and undermined the guess. Greedy asking for extra money fo a early check in. Housekeepers use their carts to impede flow of traffic.

When we found a problem with the room, the staff quite easily helped us with a new room. I had to show a few pictures of a room-related problem.

This was my second stay here, the first being 5 or 6 years ago. Although I was trying to find something cheap, I did not expect that the room will scare my girlfriend so much she would ask me if she can sleep in a car that night. While in the room we heard some weird noises, and while I was looking for the source of those I found that there was some stuff hidden/left behind the nightstand: A towel, a T-shirt, a cap and maybe something else. When I showed the pictures of those to the staff he agreed to give us another room, for which I am very grateful.

Loud thumpy music all night, no soundproofing of any sort.

The property on the outside is very cute... I had high hopes for it when I drove up to it. It is also right across the street from Santa Anita racetrack. If you are in one of the upper level rooms facing the street, you can see the stands and starting gates! I'm a horse person so this aspect was very exciting to me, and a surprise. I didn't know about this from the property description and photos. The area itself was also suprisingly nice, it's tree-lined and very pretty. If I had managed to stay here (read the next part of my review), it would have been a great place to take a walk alongside the racetrack.

I will update this review if the property refunds my money (I didn't even stay here 5 minutes). First, upon checkin they sent me to a room that was being remodeled, there was a repairman in it painting the walls. I had to go back to the front desk and they put me in a different room. After I dragged all my luggage out of my car and into the 2nd room, as soon as I sat down on the bed, a roach came crawling down the wall. Within a minute or so, another one appeared on a different wall. And finally, when a roach fell onto my bed pillow, and despite my attempts to flick it off so I could squash it with my shoe (it was persistent, wasn't afraid of me... this was in broad daylight too), I decided there's no way I could sleep here. I stay at budget accommodations all the time, including hostels, and I've never seen anything like this. I never give 1 star reviews either-- so my writing this means the situation was bad.

The deep tub was great.

They gave away our non smoking room and I am physically (rashes/bronchitis) allergic to smoke. Then we couldn't use the heat or air or I would die. We could not go elsewhere because it was the only place in 50 miles where our trailer could be accomodated. Why do you even keep smoking suites? Most chains do not? People can smoke outside. There were plenty of area for covered smoking. Also the window...though ground floor was bolted shut! Why no screen? Why couldn't we open window.
