Location, cleanliness, bar, polite staff
Shower, sink, toilet drainage was terrible. Not happy that desk clerk not available because he/she has to valet also. Not informed that I have to ask to have room cleaned.

Ein liebevoll eingerichtetes Hotel. Super sauber.

The location. Love the canopy bar and the birch and Vine. Love that your center to a lot of different restaurants.
Should not have booked a disability room. Realized he was able to get in a normal shower and I would’ve enjoyed the claw tub. The disability room was in the very back and was quite loud with doors. Slamming would’ve expected a refrigerator in the room and more of a place to sit besides one chair!would definitely stay in a different room next time

position and room size (huge). would definitely stay again
breakfast inadequate. but as you always pay extra in America and this was included it was ok. I’d read the reviews and didn’t expect much

Good location. Nice lighting in the room and nice bathtub.
First of all, they seem to offer a rooftop terrace which was a key usp for our booking, but turned out to be not accessible to underage, after 4pm. With our newborn this was quite a disappointment, because that's exactly the time you'd like to enjoy a cold drink on the rooftop and the reason we booked the hotel. Either be very clear about that or make it a rooftop restaurant or something. The worst of it all was the night - There was a lot of noise from outside getting into our room. Although there was a party on your rooftop, occupants should not be kept awake until deep in the night when paying over 250usd a night. Despite moving to a different room noise was still very loud. After the noise subdued in the middle of the night the bathroom fan was quite loud and unable to turn it off. The morning after the lady with the two ponytails was also very unapologetic and had a complete lack of diplomatic capabilities. She should really get a training in customer care and hospitality
They could at least have considered a discount or something similar for such a terrible night, but to no avail. I do note her colleagues were quite friendly and helpful nevertheless. We checked out earlier than planned and moved to another place (which was great).

Had a minor issue with the ac fan Danny had us in another room right a way no I'll get someone to look at just we are going to move you to a room with a working ac fan immediately and here's two free drink cards for your trouble. Great to see an establishment pur the guest first

It was perfection.

This is a great location and a unique hotel.
The a/c went out on one of the hottest days of the year. They did put a window unit in but it was still 80° in the room. We were also across from a parking garage and had to keep the curtains open so that the air flow from the window unit so no privacy.

Great hotel with wonderful service. Very good breakfast included. Super fun rooftop bar and help friendly staff.
3.5 / 5.0
Location, restaurant, rooftop view, clean, stately, historic, quiet, well managed front desk and valet.
Just the most bizarre and easy things to fix to help travelers —- add folding luggage racks to armpit in room, add lamps and especially bedside reading lamps to room, add outlets to bedside tables in room. That’s it!
Birchwood has beautiful services and location and does the big things well. So it was so strange to have nowhere to set suitcases— we had to use the ironing board to hold purses! We also could not see anything once we set our things on the front bureau — it was so dark in the room even with every (known!) light on. So that was just weird.

great location and staff was very welcoming and attentive
if your going on a Friday or Saturday night stay it’s extremely loud
2.5 / 5.0
breakfast ok. stale, cheap danish, rubbery sausage and bacon.
The hotel doesn't tell guests that it books parties on the 4th floor so booming music going on above us til 11 30 pm first night and 10pm 2nd night. Also we had to complain about outdoor rugs and walks being cleaned with a loud leaf blower right next to the deck where we were having breakfast. We blame management for this. They should tell workers to use broom and rake for area that is not that big or dirty. There is also a lot of noise echoing in the open corridor that most guest windows face

Room was a bit dark for doing wedding hair
And makeup.

The best part was the location near to everything in St. Pete's. The restaurant was very good and wait staff was excellent. We enjoyed the bar downstairs and saw the rooftop bar and it looked very appealing. Also the staff was very friendly, with few exceptions, always greeting and quick to answer questions.
There were several maintenance issues in the room. They closed the AC filter vent which was hanging open, however I reported a bathroom mirror light out and the attached magnifying mirror in the bathroom was ready to fall off, but no one came to address it. Also, interior door handles in bathroom were loose. Also, lighting is very poor in the bedroom area. The noise level is pretty substantial with people late night/early morning but that is weekends I guess. All the openable windows were not shut and locked all the way, and I couldn't get them shut. That may have helped.

Location is great and front desk staff are great!
With the restaurant and rooftop bar being open to the public you had people making loud noises until super late into the night. You also had a ton of public traffic so it was not a relaxing experience. Then you would have clean up and set up starting super early in the morning leaving zero time for no noise and impossible to sleep. The walls are paper thin, would hear the room next to ours entire conversations. The actual room and accommodations were not that nice, more two to three star. Weird electrical issues, AC did not run well and if it did it was loud. Bed was not comfy.

the location was superb for museums, shopping snd restaurants. Also free shuttles nearby.
2.5 / 5.0
proximity to water front, shops and restaurants
Construction, the room was VERY damp. No house keeping, had to ask for towels twice (the first time they completely forgot). The lobby is locked at 11 and you have to wait and take the Club elevator with everyone up to your floor outside and walk under scaffolding.
