Loved the large tub, which made for a great shower!!! And front staff was great and was able to check in early.
No complaints

The breakfast
Breakfast time ends at 9am would be nice to end 10:00 or 10:30

Breakfast had good variety of food. Scrambled eggs were good. Rooms were clean. Staff was very accommodating in trying to find connecting rooms during check in.
Would have like connecting rooms instead of next door.
We were almost next to the freeway, and you could see and hear the traffic, but when the door was closed you couldn't hear the traffic.

I liked the proximity to the beach.
The bathroom floor and tub were dirty. After advising the clerk, they assured me that the manager for housekeeping would be made aware. Even then, those issues were never resolved. Also during my stay, the sheets never got changed until just before the last day. I had to go to the front desk to get toilet paper, because that wasn't restocked. To spend over $200 per night (after taxes and fees), I would expect better accommodations. This was very disappointing, and I won't likely stay there in the future.

I loved how close to the beach it was. Easy 5 to 10 min stroll. We even were provided hot chocolate after a cold evening walk on the beach. The staff were very happy and helpful. Would definitely visit again.
Maybe a couple more options at breakfast. They were out of a lot of things when we were there.

Not much to do.
Breakfast not very good.
Rooms are dark.

Good location, walking distance to the beach from hotel.
Free breakfast was poor quality, specifically, watery eggs. Skip the eggs and choose other breakfast options, such as yogurt, baked goods, juice, or coffee.

Falsely advertised that it was on the beach. It is not. It is over priced. The rooms are old, especially the bathrooms. There is water damage and mold that has been painted over.

Plain and Simple Truth?
The team/staff who work there are amazing. The rooms were very nice and clean. The only downfall was that I know that the beds have lights under them and this time, I couldn't make them work!
Other than that... Everything was perfect. Close to the beach, breakfast, nice people, priced fairly, etc. Highly recommend staying with them!

Good food selection
Power went out and people waited for over an hour to register after it came back on. Staff was unable to re-boot the computer system until help came from a competing hotel next door. I saw one family give up and say that they would cancel and try another hotel. you are losing money because of un-trained staff. I stayed here 2 months ago and staff had trouble with the computer. They had to go out and physically look to see which rooms were available. I recommend to friends to stay at a different hotel, spend a little more, but have fewer problems.

Breakfast was ok.
Receptionist was not helpful. She seems like she was having a bad day. Or did not want to help. When in line to check in she was helping someone. The phone rang and she answered the phone. Person on the phone was asking her to check if he had a reservation and stayed there 2 weeks ago he doesn't remember if this is the hotel they stayed and he had a bill on his credit card. The Receptionist said to call his credit card company if he thinks this is a fraud bill. She did not even attempt to check the dates the caller was asking for. She hang up on him. Once we got our room. There were police activities on the floor we had our room only 3 rooms away from the room she gave us. I went back to the receptionist to ask for a room transfer. She said I need to wait for her supervisor. Receptionist asked why and I told her I don't feel safe and to many police and marshals in and outside the room and there is a man in handcuffs. She said it should be over soon. I told her I didn't feel safe. Then she said the next hotel has 24 hour security but it's not nice as this one. When supervisor came in she told her supervisor that I wanted a refund since I wanted to move to another hotel. I told the supervisor I never mentioned anything about refund I just wanted to move to a different room since I did not feel safe with all the police activities 3 doors from the room she gave me. Supervisor said not a problem and gave us a new room. That receptionist shouldn't be working at the counter she was very rude and I didn't like her attitude at all.
The walkway leading to our room smelled like urine.
I like staying at Best Western but I know I will never go back here again.

For a solo traveller, who needs to spend a night close to the ocean it was a perfect solution providing all what I needed. Considering rather high prices of accommodation in California this hotel was relatively not so expensive, but comfortable and clean. In addition the breakfast included in the price + free coffee and tea has been provided. There is well rated restaurant near by and in a walking distance there are other fast foods plus Walmart.
You don't see the ocean from the hotel, but after crossing a quiet street (it is actually "access to the hotel street", with no other traffic) you can easily get to the ocean.

very pretty.
The smoke alarm was laying on the bathroom counter. there were wires hanging out of the door on the inside. to get to a ground room you had to go up stairs then down two sets of stairs. You could not park by your room.

Clean and staff was very pleasant.
I think there was a service/maid room above us with lot of foot traffic noise.

I think it was dryer.

Room was very spacious and pretty clean
It was a bit more expensive than we would liked to pay plus the hotel did need some general updating

This is a motel, not a hotel. For over $200.00 a night, it is not worth it. It was clean, the staff was helpful, moving our room for us after a noisy family moved in next door, plenty of towels, comfy bed. Walls are paper thin, breakfast, yuck. The scrambled eggs were probably powder, not many choices, crowded tables, short hours. Nothing close by...
Noise, could hear everything . Breakfast, not good,

It was clean and affordable. Right next to the beach and Hwy 1.
The staff was mediocre at best. The staff were talking with each other for about 5 mins making me wait to check in. They didn't program my card correctly so it didn't work the 2nd day, although the staff that day was very apologetic.

I would stay again if I need to!

Too much furniture in the room for someone in a wheelchair.
