I liked it when I left it and went to another hotel nearby.

Please check your room key if you are assigned to room 248 as the one they gave me upon check in didn’t work, but I was told by the manager that it showed that it was “opened” when I spoke with the manager about it - although I never saw the light turn green or could access the room in any way. The manager walked to room 248 after I requested it and opened the door before I got there and then used my key to open the door but then a few minutes later after my husband came to the hotel he used the card again and the second attempt to use the same card didn’t work either. I hope that in the future guests are given cards that work and are not questioned or told they are working fine when in fact they do not work. The woman I spoke with at the small “lobby” that was a closed off area the size of a closet told me that “I shouldn’t have chosen to stay here” (Motel 6) when I told her I couldn’t get my room key to work and that I didn’t feel safe not being able to use it properly from an outside entrance. I definitely won’t be making the mistake of choosing to stay at the Motel 6 in Overland Park again, thank you for the recommendation. We checked out 15 minutes after arriving with no refund given and very disappointed.

Extremely Unclean!..We thought with the location in Overland Pk. Ks. at 108th would be an indication that it would be a nice upkept property..All I can say is someone needs to do an unannounced visit to this property and start from the beginning of checking in..we should have known and thought twice about staying from the appearance of this small checking in lobby and how filthy and the smell was..and I'm sorry to say this but the woman that checked us in when she let us in the door because she was coming inside also..(to put it as nicely as I can but I guess there really isn't a great way to say this..her clothing was so unkept..like maybe she had been in them for days..but it was the complete smell from not bathing..it was so over whelming we almost could not stand there to finish checking in..we were shocked at that..that that would be our first impression of your motel..but we were tired and tried to keep an open mind about the room itself. Entering it within seconds told us what a mistake we had made by booking online sight unseen..but we had been on the road for 6 hours or more..it was late it was close to freezing temperatures outside..we just needed to be able to have a clean bed and shower..it was horrible..entering the room was very cold..we saw a thermostat on the wall but were confused of where the ventilation system for the heat was..picking up this yellow stained old phone having to use a lighter to see the numbers of how to call the front desk for help..we were told ."well just turn the heat up to 80 and wait about 30 minutes..it should start getting warm through the long venting system that was above the t.v..."..we did..but to try and shorten this but also to inform you..the room smelled so bad..(non smoking room)..but the room smelt like it just had not been cleaned with anything that would give you any indication that it had been disinfected in any way..we were really concerned if the bed sheets had been changed at all..

motel 6 , used to be really nice for a basic place, but has gone downhill. I wish it would get more funding. but the the staff are really good about getting things done

bugs in the room on the ceiling. it smelled awful. the lighting is trash. can’t see a thing in there. I stayed 10 minutes in the room and checked out! the night auditor was amazing and kind. it isn’t her fault so I’m not upset by the staff at all. just the place itself. no microwave no fridge. nothing. for $5 a night more I’m in a hotel elsewhere and it actually IS nice.

The only thing positive was that the heat worked and when I checked out the desk attendant smiled at my dog.

The bathroom was very unclean looking honestly looked like there was bird poop in the bathtub. I felt like I had to clean the toilet seat before sitting down. The peg to hang your coat on was covered in some substance and hair. There was brown something all across the framing above the TV. They've removed all fridges and microwaves. The overnight staff was remarkably discourteous when we arrived (10pm) wearing dirty sweats and a bad attitude for having to do the job they're being paid to do. I'm 6 months pregnant and I sadly forgot to ask for ground floor until he brought me the paper, I did state I was pregnant and asked if ground floor was possible because stairs are hard. I can understand the frustration but I received a heavy sigh he turned back to the other room for a few seconds to ask the person that was with him I assume and returned quickly to say we don't have any ground floors. I said ok no worries thanks anyways. But I also know that was a straight up lie. There were visible ground floor rooms that had no occupants and there were less vehicles on property than ground floor rooms. This was my own fault for not asking straight away so I can't be upset but the attitude and the lie were unnecessary. We stay in motel 6 all across the country because we travel with dogs and this is far and away the worst one we've ever stayed in which is really saying something.

The dirty towels, full of someone else’s hair and bugs, complemented the moldy towel holders and stained shower curtain and comforters very well. The room also smelled like something had died in it, thankfully they tried to cover the odor with weed and meth scent.

The towels were dirty and full of hair. Mold was growing on the towel holders. Both the shower curtain and the comforters on both beds had many stains. One of the comforters also had a cigarette burn.

non smoking room smelled like a pound of cigarettes, burn holes in the sheets and blankets. towels were dirty and had hair on them. the bathtub was dirty, remote for tv only certain buttons worked . staff was slow and rude
