Little Smelly

This was an amazing location with a perfect view of the ocean! When I booked, I didn't realize that the ground floor rooms would be facing parking and the street. Upon check-in, they happily accommodated my request for a top floor room instead, since I was traveling alone and would feel safer. The room was dated, but I had no problem with that because everything was very clean and well maintained. Also, there was everything I could need to prepare a meal in the kitchen. For someone who travels a lot like I do, that detail means a lot. Overall I enjoyed my stay very much and will book here again, when I am in the area.

the property design is awful, the entrance to the room is through the balcony’s sliding door. the balcony gives access to the rest of the other rooms , which means there is no privacy because people are walking by your window all the time.

Our hot water took so long to get going that on checkout day we chose to skip shower , room was also ice cold and took quite a while to warm up , maybe turn heat up in rooms where guests are checking in . We were there on a really cold winter day and had to extend our stay because of icy road conditions on passes .

We used to live in Manzanita for two years and now we stay at the Sunset Surf every time we visit. We’ve been here about 20 times and it’s the only place we recommend to other people visiting Manzanita. The location and the price can’t be beat!

We love going to Manzanita, it’s so peaceful and quiet for the most part. We have been coming here for 15 yrs now. I’d say it’s our favorite. Thanks again 👍🔥😁

Packing up and leaving is the hardest part. The parking could be better.

Over all it was a beautiful view

Hard to get up and down the stairs, when you have arthritis in your joints

Had the most mind boggling exchange with reception while checking in. Was told to park behind the building only to find no stall was available. There was a birthday party next to the pool and I guess probably taken up by some of the people. Told lady about the issue and she said we could park out on the road. I said no how about we park in front of the office and she says “you’re not supposed to”. To which I replied “well there’s no space where we’re supposed to park” and she’s “ok but you’ll have to move as soon as a spot opens up” as if she’s doing us a big favor.

Great location ocean front. Very Clean.

Everything is very worn. Needs a remodel.

THE SHOWER WATER TEMP JUMPS FROM WARM TO SCALDING TO COLD AND BACK AGAIN. IT WAS THE ONLY NEGATIVE ABOUT THE STAY.

Location-directly across the road from the beach

Room was and felt dirty. Bed was rumpled. Windows were dirty. No amenities. Front desk person was not very helpful or friendly.

Amazing location right on the beach! Definitely could use some updates, though it was clean and relatively comfortable. Probably what you would expect from an older beach motel, which was great for our trip. Walking distance to shops/restaurants in town (though many were only open over the weekend) and having the pool was a nice touch!

The rooms need a little TLC. Pillows, bedding and towels could use a comfort upgrade.
