Rooms newly done. Beds super comfortable. Great harbor view. Easy access to big parking lot. Right in the heart of Port Jefferson near EVERYTHING.

Cap on outside handrail was missing but other than that everything was very nice and well cared for.

Loved everything!

The bed was extremely comfortable and the room was large with an offset view of the harbour (portcullis of another building in front blocked full view). The air con was effective and the bathroom had a lovely shower area, with a recess for gels and soaps to rest and a seat, but only a rainfall shower head. The complimentary toiletries were luxurious and very welcome as we were coming to the end of a 2 week holiday and running out of essentials. The furnishings were high spec and the room was very clean.

The room had no safe. The phone did not work, so when we had no caffeinated coffee pods for the coffee machine we had to go get them from the front desk. Since he was serving someone else, the receptionist called over to tell us that the machine was out of order at the moment, so we responded that they were for our room and our machine was fine. We still did not get any caffeinated pods the next day, so had to repeat the process and report the lack of working phone. The female receptionist reported that due to some renovations, not all rooms had working phones - for nearly $300 per night, I find that pretty poor, especially as breakfast is not included in the room rate! It is not explained at time of booking that for a harbour view you have to carry your luggage up 4 flights of stairs. It appears the hotel relies on trapping those who have visited the marina, i.e. those with some cash to spare and don't mind dashing between many buildings in the rain - but maybe they would not have the amount of luggage we had for a stopover. None of the local beaches appeared to have public access, other than the one on the Beach Walk beside the hotel and marina - all seemed to be privately owned. South side of Long Island (Long Beach and Jones Beach Island) offer the best beaches with public access.

The property was shabby for the price ($450 per night). The parking was difficult, and to enter the building (across the street from the main building, we had to walk past overflowing dumpsters (right next to the building), over over broken glass, and it stunk. They did not stock enough towels although I reserved for 4 people. They did not provide enough caffeinated coffee, and anyway rhe Keurig was broken. Some outlets did. it work.
