Located about one mile from the main street in Highlands. Complimentary banana bread with your espresso/capuccino/coffee purchase in the morning. Complimentary sparkling rose, prosecco, or craft beer at check in.
Staff could have swept up the fallen leaves in the outside seating alcove and dried the outside tables/chairs after the rain.

We arrived just after 4pm check in. We had received our room code via text. We opened the door and the room hadn’t been cleaned. The person at the front desk said only one staff member was working. The accommodation was small. No chair to even put on your shoes. The fixtures were falling off the walls and in general disrepair. The price was exorbitant for what the condition of the room and having to wait so long for our room to be cleaned.
There was no staff! Our room wasn’t cleaned when we arrived. Then the next morning no one was available the front desk. The signage said open hours begin at 9am. By 11 am the place was still locked and no one to be seen. The housekeeper said sorry no one was there.

Location was close to downtown. It was quiet and clean. Felt like being in a cabin instead of a hotel, which was perfect!
When taking a shower, water seeped outside tge shower area. Hope they'll fix this.

Good location…
All good, no probs..

The location was good, the beds were comfortable, the linens were nice and the heated bathroom floor was amazing. Easy check in/check out.
There was nowhere to place luggage except the floor. There really needs to be a mirror outside of the bathroom. My suggestion is to remove the hard wooden chairs and the taxidermy deer head and replace them with a narrow dresser and a mirror in the wall above it.

Location and little gem feeling
They did not clean my room because I did not ask🙄

The location was good and right around the downtown area. The heated floors in the bathroom were a nice touch.
There was a horrible smell in the entire room, but really bad near the deer hanging on the wall. It was making us all feel congested until we left the hotel next day. The photos of the hotel are completely misleading, as the room we had had a bright blue wool blanket with striped colors at the top of the blanket, and the pics of the hotel listing were completely different, as all images of the rooms were of all white bedding and nice furniture. The furniture was also not the same as any of the pics online, and the "couch" that was in the room by the fireplace was awful, and the "table" between the bean bag couch and 2 wooden chairs, was unraveling, and seemed more like a bench than a table. I also got a splinter by moving the table to try to work on my laptop. The bathroom door was gross & full of dirty fingerprints that I felt like I had to disinfect my hands after leaving the bathroom after touching the door to exit. The toiletries also provided by the hotel were horrible. The smell was so bad and lingered on my husband (who always relies on hotel toiletries to shower), I was so thankful I brought my own. The liquid hand soap was just as bad & hurt my lungs to smell it, so I used my face wash as soap instead after using 1x. The toiletries in the room were also nothing like the brands featured in the hotel post/pictures of this hotel. Just completely misleading. The shower was also filling up with water within 3 minutes of being in the shower, and it was gross standing in 2" deep water. Finally, I booked this hotel for a total of 4 GUESTS. When we got back from dinner at 8:30, my husband went to shower and let me know we only had 2 bath towels. I called the "front desk," but they apparently close @ 7:30, and no one returned my call after that. Not even the next morning to say they could bring us extra towels. No return call period.

1/2 mile from town, there's a sidewalk the whole way and it's relatively flat, so very easy walk. Bed and linens were comfortable. Modern furnishings. Clean.
Everything felt like it needed a slight face lift. Driveway (road? ) to back parking lot needs paving. Bathroom fixtures were peeling/cracked. It's a beautiful property, just needs some tune ups.

location

it was clean and updated.
it was very small

A very private property with modern rooms. Cosy and very confortable. The contactless check in was a nice touch.
No signs for the room numbers esp when it's contactless check in. Check in time is 4pm and pricing is on the premium side.

There was no additional seating in the room other than the bed.

I really liked the location of the Wells hotel, you could walk to downtown Highlands easily. The space was adorable, the sheets super comfortable and the shower nice pressure. It was also nice to be able to use the keypad and no key cards to get into the room.
The fireplace didn't work after the first night we were at the Wells. This was a large part of why I booked the trip. We also had some ants in our room which isn't ideal, but was not a crazy inconvenience. More so putting this in the review so management is aware and can increase the pest control at the property before summer when this kind of thing can be more of a problem.

It was beautifully decorated, clean, and comfortable. There was a common space with games and a bar and an outdoor fire pit that was cozy after a long day in the cold
Nothing sticks out. I didn’t meet a single staff member but we checked in late and out early so I appreciated how they were able to accommodate a contactless check in with our hours.

No room service for a 3 night stay, but did have additional towels and supplies available in lobby. The fire pit in front was a nice touch each evening.
The bleach smell never left the room the whole time we were there. Maybe a candle to burn would have helped the overwhelming smell of cleanliness.
5.0
it is cool with fire pits and accessible parking
The driveway needs to be paved, lots of potholes

No breakfast. Location was good.
I would at least spread some gravel or sand for entry into room, so you don't walk thru the mud and track it into room. I could write a chapter here on faults with room and Motel but will save you. O My.

The location. Its perfect for when I am working with my accounts in Highlands.
I would like the TV to work.
I would like towels in my room so I don't have to dry off with a washcloth.
I would like the staff to answer the phone between the hours of 9:00 to 5:00

I love the modernness of the hotel and the convenience of the Lobby having games and a big gathering room.
Our trip was a bit doomed from the start , i got a Covid diagnosis two days after Christmas. I called the wells hotel ( where we’ve stayed once before) to notify them the day I got my results. I talked to Jennifer that Monday and told her about the results and asked if we could reschedule or cancel. I was absolutely devastated because it was for our 5th anniversary and the hotel was so awesome the time before. She seemed to be very concerned and told me she would call me back after she accessed their bookings. I was confident she would call back although I could hear her tell her manager that “ a lot of people were calling about reschedule/canceling due to Covid “. She actually told me that the computer wasn’t working and got my number to call back. She never called me back and I called the hotel every day after that without ever getting an answer or call back. I even emailed the email listed on their site and three times. Never did I get a reply. We ended up going on the 1st because that was the CDC 5 day and we were going to have to pay either way. We had to leave a day early because I was completely exhausted from my body still recovering despite being triple vaccinated. I’m so disappointed in this stay because we could have enjoyed ourselves a lot more with me being well. I understand Covid is confusing for everyone and can cost the hotel money. But this is the same for us and this trip was hard on me from missing that week of work because of being sick and then being fatigued. Sadly we will not be going back to the wells hotel even though we loved it so much the first time around. I hope they learn to answer emails and respond when they tell a customer they will do just that.

Zac was a fine representative of the Hotel. He was informative, welcoming and helpful.
Two things that didn’t seem to be very good were the AC/heating unit and the hot water ran out on second shower.
