Was a great house close to the pond and the beach. The house owner was very kind and answered questions we had while we were there very quickly and respectfully. Overall an amazing place to stay to enjoy the summer on vacation.

Nicely appointed cottage in a great location.
A few things to consider :
- The bedrooms are on the top floor, and the bathroom is on the bottom floor.
- queen bed can be difficult to navigate for tall guests (>6’) given the slanted ceilings
- indoor shower was unusable, and when I informed the host, she appreciated the heads up and promised to rectify the situation immediately
- outdoor shower is decent
- the backyard space with a table/chairs isn’t a compelling place to spend time
- 3 season porch is lovely
- we didn’t need the mini-splits to cool the place. We opened the windows, which gave us a nice, fresh breeze
- host was interested and engaged with us.
- the cottage is right next to the host’s home. She greeted us when we arrived.
Overall, we had a nice stay.

Great Place, Great Stay
We had a wonderful time during our stay. The cottage was comfortable for my family of three. It was perfectly located with a feeling of seclusion but also close to all the restaurants/shops/beaches. I would highly recommend this location to a family looking for a quiet getaway while still be close to all the popular spots Wellfleet has to offer!

Delightful
This was our second year staying at the summer cottage. It is a charming post and beam with everything we need for a week with our two boys. The house is clean, cozy, and tucked away in a quiet wooded area with a few other homes. I especially love reading in the three season room. We love the location, close to the ponds, town, and convenient to get to all that Wellfleet has to offer. Mary Ellen is kind and helpful, checking in to make sure we arrived and that check in was smooth, and also letting us know about events in town or new restaurants we should check out. We can’t recommend the summer cottage enough and look forward to coming back!

Great stay!
Mary Ellen was very accommodating and readily available to address any questions we had. This place was extremely clean! I have allergies and nothing there bothered me at all. The location to downtown Wellfleet was perfect, distance to Newcomb beach was nice, bout 5 to 10 minutes. We saw many seals, kids thought that was pretty cool, and so did I. Places we enjoyed to eat were the BOL for breakfast, great smoothie type breakfast, little pricey but worth it. The Pearl restaurant was amazing! Also, people in the neighborhood actually knew Mary Ellen so it was kind of like being welcomed by a family who was well known in the community. Great stay, look forward to going back!

What a cute place!
We so enjoyed our vacay in this wonderful, well-appointed Cape cottage, it is newer and clean and has everything you need. Higher quality furnishings than one normally sees in a rental cotttage. I’ve often joked that rental cottages are where old, mismatched furniture goes to die, but not here! Lives larger than it’s compact square footage; it’s flexible floor plan met our needs very well. Other reviews are correct, the owner is indeed responsive and friendly. Would definitely rent this again.

Clean & cozy cottage in the perfect location
This little cottage was sparkling clean & wonderfully stocked, and made for a lovely getaway in Wellfleet. Our family of four fit nicely into the space. Mary Ellen was very responsive and helpful, and made sure we applied for our beach parking pass in time!

Delightful
Our stay was absolutely delightful. The cottage was clean, Mary Ellen was prompt to reply and very helpful with any questions that we had. The location was perfect-close to Great Pond which was just magnificent and perfect for our two boys, to town, and to the bayside and ocean beaches. The cottage is small but has everything we needed. We especially enjoyed reading and playing games in the three season room, and the coziness of the loft bedroom. We can’t wait to be back!

Perfect home with everything you will ever need!

Adorable cottage - great location!
This was our second stay at the cottage and we loved it. The space is perfect for a small family and is centrally located to everything. Well maintained - clean, comfortable house. Easy walk to PJs (think lobster roll) and bike ride to pond or beach. Great communication with owner.

Welcome to Heaven
Back for our third stay at the Post and Beam Cottage and again, we felt welcomed back by Mary Ellen with open arms (literally) and a bottle of wine in the fridge for us! We LOVE it here and will stay for a week every June and look forward to coming back. It is a piece of heaven on earth. There is just something about Wellfleet and this magical cottage. If I could clone it, I would! :) But since I can't do that, I just take comfort in knowing for a week in June I will be back to the best place on earth. Can't wait to come back!!

Charming Summer Cottage ~
My family has stayed at this charming summer cottage in Wellfleet for the past two years. We so enjoy the post and beam cottage, close proximity to the beautiful beaches and ponds. And, of course Wellfleet, which is full of artisans, great food and the opportunity to sail from the pier. Absolutely charming, peaceful and a great location
I loved every minute at the Cape Cod Summer House and Cottage. I was actually in the Cottage with my daughter's family while the rest of my family was next door in the big house. We had all our meals together. Great place for a large family time. It really is well located near the beaches, ponds, and walking distance to the town of Wellfleet. We were able to experience life on the Cape just like a local. From clamming on the beaches in the early morning dawn, lobster fest in the evening at Coon Hollow beach, swimming in the ponds: it was all so lovely.
My favorite was walking to the harbor via a very scenic trail across the "Uncle Tim's" bridge. One of the days I saw a very large turtle, while another day the thousands of sand crabs migrating to drier land as the tide came in. Nature and gardens along the way were all part of this charming walk. Being from California, we don't experience the coast this way. Its so much more congested on California beaches. ( And I live near the beach in CA). Here it was peaceful, restful, GREEN and full of time to explore and visit with family and friends. The cottage front deck was my favorite spot to sip a glass of wine and soak in all the beauty around me.

Our Wellfleet Home Away from Home
We came back for another week visit to Wellfleet and truly feel this is our Home Away from Home. There is just something about being in a really nice and cozy cottage for the week and knowing you are in a great area of town. I wish I could live here year round, I love it that much! I really do think this is the perfect place to stay as a couple. The outdoor shower, the exposed beam and wood, the cuisinart pots and pans (which I ended up purchasing online after using them at the cottage) the awesome dishwasher is a luxury I don't have in my life but I do on vacation and I love it. I love it all! We feel like we found our forever vacation home! See you next year! :)

So convenient and comfortable!
This cute cottage is tucked in the woods in a very quiet spot and yet convenient to Route 6 and all the ocean beaches and ponds. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking utensils and there is a lovely outdoor shower. I enjoyed eating breakfast in the sun room with the windows open so I could feel the breeze. The owner very conveniently supplied 4 beach chairs, the new kind with straps so that they can be carried on one's back. The beds were very comfortable which is always a plus.

Words cannot describe how absolutely perfect your summer cottage is!...you did a superb job!...you have left no stone unturned in here! We fell in love with it the minute we walked in!! It is impeccably clean, comfortable and cozy. It has all the conveniences of home and then some! It is close to all that the wonderful town of Wellfleet has to offer. The owner is an absolute pleasure to deal with, and she is very concerned about making your vacation the best it can be!! We are coming back next year and can't wait! I highly recommend this gem to all!

Simply, our favorite place to stay on the Cape. Perfect for us! I look forward to being a regular here each summer! My fiance was looking for a place to rent for a week on the Cape in the summer. We fell in love with Wellfleet while taking a day trip there last year. He found this wonderful place in the dead of winter while looking online. We booked in February and finally our week came in June. This is place is perfect. It is small, but big! It is very clean and simple. It has everything you'd want. I can't say enough good things about our favorite place!!! I wish it was mine to keep, but it's nice to know that I have a place to go every single year now.

Great stay in Wellfleet
Great stay at a nice house, between the beaches/Ponds and the town of Wellfleet. The rental process was very smooth with the owner and all delivered as promised. The house is new and contains a small kitchen as well as a nice 3 season porch. The layout both downstairs and upstairs are single rooms with an open floor plan. It is best to have a vehicle if staying at this house as it is a mile to the town of Wellflleet and a few miles to the ponds/beach. Great vacation spot for our family of three.

Can't go wrong with this cottage rental.
Very clean and comfortable cottage in a very quiet neighborhood. The interior is adorable. Very nice location as it is only 30 minutes from Provincetown and only a minute up the road to a beautiful ocean beach or,if you prefer, a fresh water pond for swimming. Fantastic restaurants in the area. We enjoyed everything about our stay except we would have liked to have had the bathroom upstairs in the bedroom to prevent going down the stairs at night. But to most guests this will not be a problem . Great set up for a couple or a couple with two children.
