Very good process from start to finish

Good location, well appointed
Lovely ground floor apartment, well appointed and in excellent condition (very clean, beautifully furnished and good air conditioning). 10 min downhill walk into a beautiful historic town with many small streets and boutique shops, bars, restaurants. The return uphill should be very manageable for anyone without injuries or disabilities. The apartment terrace overlooks an olive garden. Beyond the tree line is Lake Garda. The lake can be seen from the driveway but not from the terrace. Not a problem for us, but for those who want a 'lake view' should consider this. The driveway for the car is on a *very* steep hill down to the garage. Not a problem if you have good clutch control :-). On arrival, we were met by Anny who was lovely. Very friendly and welcoming. She went through everything including recommendations and restaurants to visit. The owner, Laura, was also very helpful, connecting us with a great windsurfing school (Nany's Acqua Centre). Overall, we had a fabulous time and would be very happy going back.

Good location, nice flat with all mod cons
We took a last minute decision to visit lake Garda for a week. We booked the flat without really knowing a great deal about the area. It proved to be a good choice. Malcesine is a lovely town with a good selection of restaurants and plenty to do for outdoors types. The flat itself is exactly as described and the air conditioning a great bonus when it’s really hot which it was while we were there. We had a great time!

Great property
Really helpful host, nice touches on arrival to welcome us. Great location and area. And lovely property with great facilities to enjoy your time Malcesine.

Excellent Apartment
A lovely apartment within walking distance of Malcesine centre. Very looked after by the host, perfect family retreat!
4.8
Comfortable and spacious apartment in a good location for walking to main tourist attractions
The apartment is well located in a quiet residential area with easy access to the lake side promenade, ferry boats, centro storico and cable car to the Mountains.
It is tastefully decorated and provides everything required including air conditioning in the main areas and master bedroom, WiFi and plenty of balcony space for sun bathing and dining.
You will find Annie most helpful providing local information and assisting with taxi transfers.

Great place to stay - super convenient for Malcesine and quiet in the evenings
We were welcomed by the caretaker Annie, who speaks English very well. She showed us around, made sure we had all the info we needed, and even gave some good restaurant and event suggestions.
Everything is clean, spacious and comfortable. The air-con is a great bonus, and we although the temperatures were never above 32 outside, we appreciated using the air-con in the evenings.
Parking is in the garages under the building - it's a bit steep getting up and down there, but no real problems.
Overall, a great place. Highly recommended.

Lived up to expectations, well equipped and only a few minutes walk from town and Lake shore.
Sottodossi was a great base for our 3 generational family wedding gathering in Malcesine. Some initial confusion over bookings and Laura’spayment system made me slightly nervous that all would be well. However I need not have worried, Laura was very helpful with any questions we had, and the lovely house manager Annie was 5 star during our stay, always going the extra mile to ensure the experience we had was 5 star as well!
Malcesine is a lovely place to visit, wedding or no!
Definitely would recommend a stay.
4.8
Clean, convenient location and everything you need is there
The apartment was clean, very spacious and very close to town so it was a quick walk to everything. The only difficulty for us was the driveway and that was because we had a large car. Overall a great find that we would highly recommend.

We loved Laura's appartment in Malcesine!
The place was exactly as you can read on the internet:
A big, neat and clean appartment with 3 bedrooms (the beds were very comfortable), 2 bathrooms and a very well equipped kitchen. Too bad that we couldn't use the huge terrace due to the weather around Easter this year. Having breakfast outside would have been perfect.
It is obvious that this appartment is not just an object to be rented, the owner spends time there too. So everything is decorated very tastefully - we didn't miss a single thing.
The location of the appartment couldn't be any better - a quiet neighborhood in walking distance to the shops, the harbour and the funicular to Monte Baldo.
If there are any questions during the booking process, Laura responds very fast. About 1 week before arrival you'll get directions how to find the appartment. In Malcesine there is a lovely housekeeper, Annie, taking care of everything. You can always reach Annie when there are problems (like having forgotten the keys inside the appartment) or ask her for some insider tips during the stay. The deposit is being retransfered right after the vacation.
We can definitely recommend Laura's appartment to everyone:
The appartment is a perfect place to spend a great holiday at the Lake Garda. Laura is a reliable landlord. Annie is the perfect help for any question you might have in Malcesine. There is nothing else you might wish for a holiday except for sunny weather!

Home from Home
This is the third time our family has rented this lovely apartment and it has just been beautifully refurbished and air conditioning installed, so it's even better than before. it's a real home from home for us. What keeps us coming back is partly the situation (on the lower slope of Monte Baldo, near the cable car route) and partly the apartment itself, which is comfortable and well-equipped, with a large wrap-around balcony. It's ideal for our family of five. (Be aware though that it is uphill from the town and that the driveway is sloping. There are steps to negotiate down from the road to the front door. No problem for us, but this may be a challenge if you have mobility problems.)
The owner Laura is quick to reply to messages and her representative on site is very helpful. Deposits are always quickly returned at the end of our stay.

Splendid!
Very nice, easy, precise and effective communication with both Laura (owner) and Annie (care taker). A high degree of flexibility. Damage deposit very quickly returned. Very nice apartement with everything you need. Located in a silent area, but at the same time very close to the heart of Malcesine and the beach. 5 mins to walk to the cableway to Monte Baldo, 5 mins to the beach and 8 mins to Malcesine town. We would love to come back!

Lovely apartment, Great service
Great apartment and close to town.
Following our return we were advised that we left numerous clothes in the wardrobe by mistake (we had not actually noticed- oops) however we were quickly informed, send pictures of the items and these posted back to our home address in the UK. We have also had fast confirmation of the return of the security deposit.
This booking was very easy to arrange, the owner and housekeeper are lovely to deal with and the overall service fantastic.
Thank you .

Fantastic
We were attending a wedding at the castle and stayed with family members. Firstly the location was perfect for us, it was quiet and yet a short stroll into the centre. Some other guests stayed at a nice hotel half way up the mountain however it is really difficult to get taxis, therefore accommodation within walking distance turned out to be really important. The apartment was spacious as described, clean and had everything (and more) that you would need. Annie, the housekeeper was amazing, so kind and helpful and on hand if we needed anything. I would certainly recommend this apartment.
We would have not thought about a holiday to Malcesine, prior to the wedding invite however were all amazed about how beautiful everything was and now all looking forward to returning.

Superb!
I would highly recommend this gorgeous apartment, it is the size of a house! I would have given it 6 stars if it was possible. Great location only minutes to the centre, parking, plus beautifully finished and furnished with all utilities, and absolutely spotless. Lovely outdoor area as well. Will definitely stay here again when next in Malcesine.

Great week in Malcesin
We have just had a lovely week in Malcesine celebrating our daughters wedding at the Castle. Laura's apartment is excellent. It was spotlessly clean, comfortable and very well equipped. As in other reviews, Annie greeted us and was very welcoming and provided lots of advice.
The property is only a few minutes walk from the town as described.
The property does have a steep drive and steps, although we didn't find this to be a problem and the car was parked out of the sun in the underground garage.
Would highly recommend visits to Verona for the day which was very enjoyable and in our option better than Venice.
Would have no hesitation in returning to Laura's apartment and would wholeheartedly recommend it.

A really lovely holiday
We have just returned from a lovely week in Malcesine. Laura's apartment is excellent. It was spotlessly clean, comfortable and very well equipped. As in other reviews, Annie greeted us and was very welcoming and provided lots of advice. The wine, snacks and water provided were much appreciated, so thank you Laura.
The property does have a steep drive, but we didn't find this to be a problem and it meant the car was parked out of the sun. We had storms and torrential rain on our first day so it was nice to have somewhere so spacious and comfortable to wait until the weather improved.
Would highly recommend visits to Riva del Garda, Garda and Lazise. We also drove to Verona for the day which was surprisingly easy and very enjoyable.
This was our first holiday in Italy and we loved it, so hope to return very soon.
Would have no hesitation in returning to Laura's apartment and would wholeheartedly recommend it.
4.8
Lovely, comfortable apartment
The description of this property is not exaggerated. It is a lovely, comfortable, clean and spacious, well equipped and beautifully furnished apartment in a quiet location away from the main road. The air conditioning is a definite bonus.
The booking process was easy and secure, and Laura was always very prompt in dealing with and responding to my emails and queries. She was also very helpful in arranging taxis for our journeys to and from the airport. Laura was also very quick to refund the damage deposit, contacting me on the day of our departure and arranging for payment into our bank account within a couple of days.
We were met on arrival by Annie, who was lovely - very welcoming and extremely helpful with details about the area and suggestions for restaurants, etc.
Malcesine is a beautiful town, with its fairytale Castle and old, cobbled streets full of shops and restaurants. We would particularly recommend Al Gondoliere, where the food was excellent.
The walk up and down hill to town, the Castle and the Lake was more like 15-20 minutes for us as, unfortunately, my husband had a flare up of a problem with his knees, so anyone with mobility problems should be aware of this. However, this did not detract too much from our experience, and we were able to get taxis if necessary.
We would not hesitate to stay here again and would certainly recommend it.

Lovely Apartment In Great Location
Before arrival, the communication with Laura the owner was excellent - always prompt and answered our questions very effectively.
Annie the housekeeper was very welcoming and helpful when we arrived and passed on some great tips about our stay in Malcesine.
The apartment itself was very spacious considering there were 6 of us, very clean and well furnished with a large sun terrace for outdoor eating. The kitchen area was extremely well equipped and we appreciated the use of both the dishwasher and washing machine during our stay.
We also appreciated that the apartment is in a great location - close to the cable car and less than 10 minutes walk into the centre of the town.
Overall, we had an excellent experience during our stay in beautiful Malcesine - highly recommended!

Excellent accommodation
This is a beautiful apartment in a great location. The outside balconies are spacious and well equipped. Although there are only glimpses of the Lake there are beautiful views of olive trees and the mountains. It is very peaceful yet only less than 10 minutes walk to the centre of Town and the Castle. Inside there is everything you need with 2 excellent bathrooms and a well equipped kitchen. Laura the owner is perfecto deal with - always speedy responses and very quick return of the damage deposit. Annie, the housekeeper is a gem and the best on site person I have ever dealt with. Highly recommended.

Just Right
For my family trip to Malcesine to attend a relative's wedding I needed good family accommodation. I found this property that appeared to fit the bill and after contacting the owner, by enquiry, I decided to proceed and make a booking. I was not disappointed. I was pleased that I had found a comfortable ground floor family friendly apartment that was equipped with appliances and facilities that were as good if not better than at home. Of our family of six two were under four and we felt very at ease that only expected reasonable attention was needed for them and we were not constantly on edge. Even the extensive sunny balconies were able to keep the inquisitive little ones safely at bay. For our cooking needs we wanted for nothing except our own ingredients as just about all of the tools that never seem to be present in other people's kitchens were there. On the day of the wedding we all set off to walk to our appointment at the castle and were there in just over ten minutes. The apartment is set in a quiet residential area and we were able to sleep in for as long as we wanted/needed and the little ones would allow. Attached to this property was the lovely Anne (Anny) who was there to meet and greet us and to assist us with all things local.
It was nice to see the return of our damage deposit so soon after our stay.

we travelled from Canada for a family wedding andour first visit to Italy. There were 5 adults and a baby, The apartment was spacious and clean. We had hired a mini van which caused problems with parking, there was a steep slope to park, needless to say we parked it for the week and walked into town, which was only a 8-10 stroll. Annie met us at the aprtment on our arrival and was very helpful with showing us where the supermarket was and if we needed anything to contact her. There was even cookies and wine on the table. The patio was large and great for outside eating. Lovely apartment and a wonderful place to visit, thanks Laura for your help .
4.8
Balcony a godsend, some shade at most times, safe for toddlers, perfect place for eating al fresco, overlooking gardens, but no long distance views. Laura has said she is thinking of adding air-conditioning - now that would have made us give a score 5*, although to be fair we had to endure unseasonably hot temperatures and there were good fans in all rooms. Clean and welcoming, well equipped. VERY Steep driveway coupled with 16 steps to walk up or down to get to the front door was a bit of a shock but we got used to that. Walk into the old town took rather longer than five minutes, along quite a busy road, but property itself was lovely and quiet. Our daughter was married at the castle - probably about a 15-20 minute walk. Gorgeous. Very impressed with Annie, who greeted us and sorted out a couple of queries very well. Laura refunded our deposit very promptly on our return, and was particularly attentive to all our various needs in advance. Thank you. Laura, for the welcoming bottle of red wine, olive nibbles and water etc in the fridge.

Just back from a fantastic week in Malcesine, staying at this fabulous apartment.
The lovely Annie was waiting for us when we arrived, and made sure we had everything we needed - even leaving us some extra bottled water as it was roasting hot and by the time we arrived the supermarkets were shut.
The apartment itself is really well located, a 5-6 minute walk down the hill to the town, passing the cable car station on the way (well worth a trip up Mt. Baldo). Coming out of the road where the apartment is situated and taking the first right takes you down to the beach, again in 5 minutes or so.
The apartment has three good sized bedrooms, a well equipped kitchen with everything you might need, and two bathrooms (one with a bath, and one with a walk in shower). Internet speeds are good, and there is even a Bose Bluetooth speaker to hook your music device up to. We only found one English TV channel (BBC News), so if you have kids it's probably a good idea to take something for them to watch.
Malcesine itself is absolutely beautiful, although very hilly with lots of cobbled streets, so not the easiest to walk around. I certainly wouldn't recommend it as a destination for anyone with walking difficulties. The beaches are stones rather than sand, so I would definetly suggest some form of beach shoes. We picked some up from one of the many beach shops there at around €10 a pair, and were our best purchase of the trip. The lake is amazing, and we could have easily spent all day every day there if there wasn't so much else to do.
The restaurants in Malcesine are great value for money, even those in usually pricy locations (right on the lakeside near the harbour for example) with a pizza or pasta dish coming in at around €7-10.
Overall a great holiday in a lovely location, staying in a beautiful apartment. Thank you Laura, and thank you Annie for making us feel so welcome. I can't recommend this place highly enough :)

Large apartment with a charming , classy decoration ,extremely comfortable and peaceful. In the center of town ( only 5 minute of easy walk ) and yet an oasis of peace. We enjoyed our dining in the big terrace looking at a full blooming rose garden. We were 6 ( 3 couples ) and we found it absolutely perfect.
Dealing with the owner was very easy, she gave us good tips on restaurants and places to visit and we got our deposit back after 3 days we were home.
We will make this apartment our home away from home. Thank you Laura for letting us stay in your wonderful "nest " as you call it. :)

Really lovely apartment in a beautiful location. Amenities top class and Laura very accommodating. Will return!!!

We chose this apartment after reading the reviews and because it was near to Malcesine castle where our daughter was getting married. Getting the car in and out was far from easy due to the VERY steep slope!!! My brother in law had to sleep on the bed in the lounge which was appauling. The mattress was wafer thin and in two parts. The oven could have done with a good clean. fortunately we only had to use the once as we ate out every day. You could not use more than two electical appliances at the same time otherwise the electics would cut out.!!! The neighbours above us were very noisy I think they decided to move furniture every night just as we were goin to bed.
On our return we naturally thought we would be getting all of our deposit back but no the owner had decided to keep some of it as there was a tear in one of the sun loungers. I did try telling her that the tear was already there and maybe it was caused by the sun loungers being stacked one on top of the other. The owner told me they are never stacked and after a few exchanges of emails was told to get over it as was our fault and we would not be getting all our deposit back. We have been renting apartments all over the world for the past 20 years and have never had any deposit kept or been spoken to like that.
Apart from all this Malcesine is a beautiful place and our daughter had a lovely wedding at the castle. We shall be returning but finding somewhere else to stay!!!

We are returning guests in this beautiful quiet and spotless apartment.
We spent a week here in September but it was hard to leave as once you enter in this house you really feel right at home. It is so cozy and comfortable and beautifully decorated .
It is provided with everything you can possibly need ( even kleenex, shampoo, shower gel and beach towels!). The kitchen has all the tools necessary to prepare a gourmet dinner and the big wrap around terrace is a great place to enjoy the sun during the day and an outdoor dinner in the evening.
You don't really need a car as the short walk to the center of town is very easy and
healthy.
Dealing with Laura was simple, clear and she helped us with all our requests; she also organized all our transportation from and to the airport and she gave us precious advice on day tours and restaurants.
We will return again and again and we recommend this beautiful, special place to everyone. Wish we could have stayed two weeks.
Thank you Laura for letting us stay !

What to say ?
This place is awesome. the hard wood floor, the furniture, the feel of the house makes you forget the rest of the world. We didn't want to leave the house because it was SO comfortable . The floor plan is conducive to ease of living as there is a separation so everyone has his own privacy.
We recommend this house to you all !
4.8
We very much enjoyed our week in Malcesine. The apartment was very well equipped, spacious and suited our family perfectly. Very quiet location away from the busy streets of the town but within a short walk of shops and restaurants. Definitely recommend a trip in the cable car but go early in the day to avoid long queues. A beautiful part of Italy.
4.8
This apartment is not only very comfortable, well-equipped and convenient for exploring Malcesine and Lake Garda, it also has lots of character. It feels more like someone's home than just a holiday let, being very attractively decorated and in a quiet area. There was plenty of room for six adults (we were three couples, ages mid 20s to mid 50s) and the terraces (one large and one smaller) and two bathrooms were very useful. Our booking and arrival were managed in a friendly and efficient way.
The walk into Malcesine takes only a few minutes, passing the cable car station on the way. Try the cable car to the top of Monte Baldo - well worth the trip for the views alone. Go early in the day to avoid the queues.
Do expect a climb on the way back home from town (and also when you have parked your car down the steep driveway) but it's good exercise! The lakeside at Malcesine has a number of little (pebbly) beaches, which are charming and very pleasant for swimming and sunbathing. Take your watershoes or buy some in the town for comfort.
We found DeSpar on the nearest side of town, and the fruit and veg shop opposite it, the best places to shop for food, but of course there are also many good restaurants.
Use the ferries from the harbour to visit other resorts round the lake: Limone and Riva are lively. Riva has a spectacular waterfall everyone loves: children and dogs included. Gardone Riviera has a splendidly quirky botanical gardens full of sculpture and also the "Vittoriale" - a nine-acre site which boasts, among many other things, an open-air auditorium and a real ship built into the hillside! Verona and Venice are both within reach by car.
Opportunities for watersports abound. We used Europa Surf and Sail, situated between Malcesine and Navene for windsurfing and stand-up paddleboarding. They were very friendly and obliging.
I would happily recommend this apartment for a family group like ours.
4.8
The apartment is spacious, well equipped, clean and comfortable with the advantage of two bathrooms. It has a large terrace and views of Lake Garda through the olive trees. It is in a peaceful location but a short stroll takes you to the medieval centre of Malcesine with its castle, quay and stunning cable car ride up Monte Baldo. Our only reservation was the parking which is down a steep slope underneath the apartment.
The owner and her local representative are both very helpful.
4.8
We came to this very nice apartment for our easter holiday and had a great time in Malcesine. The apartment ist very nice and I can join the other reviews. Gabriella was very helpful, the booking and the contact to Laura was friendly and prompt. The view from the terrace was fantastic: Monte Baldo and a brillant lakeview through the olivetrees. Great! I can definitely recommend this nice spot and can only thank Laura and Gabriella for a great vacation.
4.8
I would definatley recommend this apartment it is very well maintained and equipped, we had a lovely stay the apartment is located just right within walking distance of Malacesine but far enough away so that your not on top of everything.
4.8
We had a wonderful time in the area around Lake Garda, and especially in Malcesine. What a lovely little town! Just a short, pleasant walk down the hill and we were in the center of town!
A big reason we had such a nice time in Malcesine was your beautiful house! Lovely, peaceful, very comfortable and well equipped! We spent one evening in, made ourselves a nice dinner and then sat out on the terrace with glasses of wine and listened to the sounds of opera echoing up from the castle.
A magical evening!

We booked this apartment to gather with dear friends as we celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary. The apartment is lovely, large and accommodating, and the wrap-around terrace was perfect for lazy breakfasts, afternoon siestas, and evening aperitifs. The walk to town proved challenging for one recent knee-replacement, but we found the taxi service efficient. Malcesine is charming and full of interesting shops, views, and restaurants. And the cable car to Mount Baldo was spectacular.
My one frustration was the lack of a lake view, which I had hoped for. Cocktails at the top of the driveway to get the view seemed a bit silly!
4.8
This apartment has exceed all our expectations.
We stayed 10 days and we wish we could move in.
As soon as we enter we felt immediately home.
The beautiful hard wood floor , the antique furniture and the view from the terrace immediately conquered us.
The house is surrounded by olive trees and roses and the silence is amazing.
We were a little nervous because we've read there was a dog upstairs, but we found out that the apartment upstairs was empty and vacant.
It takes only a few minutes to walk to the center of town.
The house has a covered parking which is a bonus in Malcesine.
The weather was fabulous except for one afternoon so we watched a music DVD that we found in the house .
There are also several interesting books in English available for the guest.
The kitchen is equipped with anything we could possibly need and we enjoyed our dinner out in the large terrace.
Our experience in this apartment in Malcesine was unforgettable and now we know where to stay the next time ( soon ).
Thank you Laura for letting us staying in your wonderful corner of paradise.
