nothing to complain about. just be reminded that everything else apart from the night/breakfast is to be paid (even desserts kindly offered after dinner) so the final bill can be a bit more than expected

We were very warmly welcomed by Laetitia. The volcano tour guided by Alcindo was a highlight. The food was delicious, the atmosphere very personal. The whole staff was very kind, especially also to our kids.

The comfort of the beds was a bit limited, but that was not an issue.

a mattress protector may stop the sheet slipping on the mattress. just a little suggestion.

Laetitia and Alcindo are great hosts - Alcindo was a wonderful tour guide and guided us to the top of the volcano. Food was nice, rooms are comfortable. Would definitely recommend

Perfect location to experience living with the mountain and its powerful presence No other buildings between you and the view of the towering Pico Great sense of community in the village Everyone very friendly and have respect for the mountain that has caused so much hardship, even in recent history with an eruption that destroyed the village It was an inspiring experience and a great place to stay The small friendly hotel has great staff and the setting is fantastic The manager was very accommodating and his assistant keen to be helpful There is an attractive peaceful courtyard to relax and several of the rooms have excellent views of the volcano Visit the village a short walk away to hear live music and enjoy a drink Take your torch to walk home but marvel at the night skies

We were looking forward to a hot shower but the guest house does not have hot water at the moment The owner is keen to upgrade though Not a huge problem as very warm in the day but you may need an extra layer on the bed during the night

They do not have hot water, but this is a restriction of the village - staff can hear a bucket of water if you ask them.

The best location in the village, just at the departure for trek of small and big volcano The French host is very friendly, helpful, the food is really tasty. Laëtitia invited guides the day before you want to make the trek on Fogo to organize the trip. Even after check out, you can leave your luggage and then take a shower or having a lunch after the trek Room is comfortable, clean Wifi works well close to the router, which is close to reception (no wifi in bedroom). No really hot water for shower, but it’s manageable due to the hot temperature outside

there was no electricity during the night, no internet all day, the water in the shower was cold and coming out in a small lick. the pillows were also uncomfortable. we found it overpriced for the servicies it offers.

As a frequent traveler, there is the rare place that you know will stay in the forefront of your memory forever. The location cannot be beat - my window looked out right onto the volcano. It left like being with family truly in Cape Verde. Letetia and Alcindo are wonderful and helped me with anything I needed during my stay including organizing a hiking guide and transport. I loved just staying up, drinking wine, and chatting with the hosts and other guests. I hope to return one day and cannot reccomend enough.

We had a really warm welcome by Leatitia and Alcindo. Always really careful about our comfort during our stay. Everything was easy, Leatitia found us a French speaking guide to hike the Pico do Fogo called Joao who was really nice. Furthermore the food was good. Both of them are really hard worker people and they make everything they can to make you feel well. Thanks again.

We had a lovely stay with Laetitia, Alcindo and Malo. The property has everything you might need on site, and Laetitia and Alcindo have kindly arranged everything we needed, from our pick-up/drop-off to our activities. We were particularly impressed with Laetitia’s cooking skills!

An incredible place to visit. A great location for hiking Pico do Fogo. Lovely hosts and an extremely relaxing time without Wifi or noise.
