Good location for the town. Very friendly staff

The bathroom, which was slightly smelly! This may have partly resulted from a leak from the toilet and also the shower. I reported this to the lady in charge/owner or manager and she told me they had this problem previously and thought it had been sorted out. She also said that she would get a plumber in to sort out the problem.

Great location, easy parking, great food and drink. Didn't need anything more, plenty of places in the market place to get a full cooked breakfast in the week when it's not offered. (Weekends are I believe).

Our party of 8 had a wonderful stay at The Bay Horse. The food is terrific (and the menu is more extensive than on the website). Rooms are clean and comfortable and good value. Rob and Ann are very hospitable and had great advice for travel in the local area.

A warm welcome, a spotlessly clean room, a great atmosphere in the bar, excellent food and the best beer I've had in a ling time.

The road noise early morning, but not a problem

The location of the property is ideal, it is right in the centre of Masham. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Although the property does not have any parking there are plenty of spaces in the market square, which is right next to the property. There was a good selection of real ale in the bar and I had a very nice evening meal. It is clearly a popular place to eat as it was very busy.

My room was on the top floor and I did struggle a little with the stairs as they are a bit steep, but I was aware there would be stairs to climb when I booked.

Great room, very comfortable bed, so had perfect nights sleep. Friendly helpful staff and attentive manager. Great atmosphere with live music. Will definitely return.

Spacious room with a comfy bed. Nice extra touches such as muffins and fruit. Dined in the bar in the evening and the food was very nice.

No car park, although there is free on street parking. No breakfast.

Evening meal - Veggie Burger bread was dry and very hard.

Had quoted my arrival time as ‘around 4.00 pm’ as I wasn’t sure but arrived at 1.00pm. All locked up! Banged on front door no reply. Went round town and back at 4.00. Banged on door and no reply. Just getting back in car and noticed front door just closing so went back and managed to raise, I think, the manager. She said she had sent an e mail telling me to contact her on arrival which, to be fair, I found later in my junk email. Took us up two flights of steep narrow stairs to what looked like a very nice room with plenty of nibbles etc. I asked what time evening meal “we don’t do meals on a Wednesday ( obviously Ty was the day we’d arrived) Right oh, so what times breakfast,” we don’t do breakfasts on a Thursday “ Hmmm not going well so far, where can we eat I asked, she mentioned a couple of other eating type pubs but when I asked her which she recommended she replied “ no idea, I’ve not eaten there” She left us in the room, my wife and I had a chat and realised we were only going to fall out later over MY choice of hotel so picked up our bags and walked out through the empty bar leaving the key on the bar. Didn’t even touch the biccies or kettle and then drove all the way home bemoaning the loss of my hundred quid! I later found a note on the webpage stating that meals were indeed, not served on a Wednesday nor breakfasts throughout the weekdays. I’ve no idea if the bed was comfortable, whether the room or traffic was noisy and obviously can’t comment on the food Maybe at 77 the fault is mine for not exploring the booking site better. I have put this review as I’m being constantly nattered by e mail to do so, otherwise I wouldn’t have bothered!
