Établissement très fonctionnel et très confortable

The property was in a good location.

The property was badly set out with the only bathroom being accessed through the main bedroom for all guests. On arrival it appeared clean but on closer inspection there was salmonella in the shower, an electric hairdryer in the bathroom was melted and the floors were really filthy, our feet were black. Our biggest issue was with the host who contacted us almost daily via what’s app for the two weeks before we went. She complained she hadn’t received payment (it had been made via booking.com) and refused to honour the booking until we paid her again directly. We had to claim this payment back via booking.com which has been a nightmare. She also took a payment directly from my bank account ‘by mistake’ and then paid a lesser amount back. Again I am now having to chase this up through my bank account. There are plenty of lovely places to stay in La Rochelle. This is badly managed and really wasn’t worth the stress caused by the host.

Laetitia has recently acquired this property, and is very responsive to our questions and needs. When we needed an extra fan or more toilet paper, she brought them over. She is very kind and open to suggestions. The property is in a nice part of town, yet close to the harbor. It is beautifully decorated with mostly updated things in the bathroom and kitchen. Shampoo and soap are provided. A bonus touch were the gourmet cookies and candies waiting for us. The open market just right down the street was awesome! It’s open every morning.

I would have liked blackout curtains in the master bedroom. I woke up each morning with the sun, and it was very bright, even though the curtains were closed. I suggested to have a towel and soap in the toilet room. She liked that idea. More towels and toilet paper from the beginning of our stay would be helpful. I felt like we were on a ration. Once she showed us how to open the sliding glass door, we could have cross ventilation. It was very hot without air con. Another suggestion is to have a clothes washer. Washing by hand was a hassle, but we did it it. If the whole building belongs to Laetitia, even a washer on the 1st floor for everyone to use is better than nothing.

The location was excellent - only a few minutes walk to the port area. The room was spotless

I had seen on a previous review that it could be difficult to access. We pre-booked an arrival time so had no problems. It would be better though if this fact was made clear when booking

The apartment was great, the bed comfy and the shower was with the right pressure and with hot water.

The facility has a problem with mold. The stairs of the first floor had a big mold stain and it smelled everywhere. Luckily in the studio did not smell, except in the bathroom that the smell was a bit intense.
