The property is very well located. The host can be more welcoming. The compensation for a brand-new 32 inch TV after dam
The property was situated in a convenient location only 10 minutes walk from the seafront, and also boasts a lovely balcony and access to a swimming pool. The property as a whole was charming and provided a comfortable stay while in St. Tropez. The shower and the kitchen were in full working order, and the kitchen especially was well stocked (though a bit out of maintenance).
However, the 26 inches TV was placed on a very small round corner glass table which made a potential hazard and easy to knock over. Inevitably, the TV fell down. The owner asked us to compensate for a brand-new 32 inch TV after damaging the old 4 year-old 26 inch TV. The washing machine was old and difficult to work, and in danger of malfunctioning any minute. After having knocked down the TV, we dared not to use the washing machine because we do not want to compensate the host a new one (I feel like it is a Russian roulette game to see who will break the old washing machine sooner or later). Overall, the property was lovely but we felt as though the host could have been more welcoming). Additionally, the host of the property was difficult to communicate with at times - instead of welcoming us at the property and instructing us where to retrieve the keys, we were emailed a hand-drawn map (like treasure hunting), and when we were unable to find the parking nor the keys and called the owner, the owner was quite belligerent over the phone. We were asked to check the email chains when we could not find the way to the car park (while the owner could simply tell us over the phone or resend the treasure hunt map over WhatsApp). We ended up spending 30 mins with suitcases in the car park in search of the property by reading the treasure hunt map. At the end, thanks to the help of a French speaking passer-by who did the translation for us.

Superb
Great location. Sea view. Enjoyed the calm. We were sceptical at first because of the damage deposit that had to be mad on the owner’s private account, but our scepticism was unnecessary. All went well and the owner even arranged a late checkout which we really appreciated. Thanks for the stay!

Exceptional
The apartment is great and we loved it. The mornings with the sunrise on the roof top are so special, the light is magical! The parking lot is a treat, especially in Saint-Tropez where parking lots are scarce. Annick and her husband are lovely and we are looking forward to staying with them again next time.

Ok Apartment - Reluctant Host
Good location. Decent pool.
I rarely write lengthy reviews of my stays on Booking / Airbnb / et al. Arrival However I feel I need to let the host and future guests know about my experience with the host. I arrived a little early and tried calling several times to the host before arrival to ask if it was ok to come early. Whilst we had communicated on WhatsApp the gist did not give me a clear answer if I could enter the apartment early or I asked if I could just leave my bags there while the cleaning lady finished. No reply. I called like 10 times and she never answered the phone. So I went to a local cafe to wait for the host to reply and let me know if i can check in or not. After an hour or so the host writes me back (not calls) Amd says “sorry i was at lunch Amd could not hear the phone”. She sent me this hand drawn map which was confusing at best (they have google maps these days where you can do dropped pins etc but all good). I was then instructed to call a guy who would let me into the apartment. When we finally met he could not open the apartment as he had the wrong keys but in the end it was sorted out eventually. However if you don’t speak French then this would have been challenging to say the least. Next came the wifi code. For some bizarre reason the host chose to hand write the password which was the 16 character or so original from the router. It was impossible to read the hand writing amd after exchanging several WhatsApp’s and messages via booking.com they finally sent me the correct password. However prior they offered to have the cleaning lady come to give me the password. I was waiting for the cleaning lady while my friends went to dinner amd she never showed up. The hosts response sums up the attitude for the entire trip when she replied “she comes when she wants”. I think the hist needs to ask themselves if they actually want to be a host. I never received a call back to my 15+ calls to the host and definitely never an apology for anything.
