Good breakfast, but need to book in advance.
Loud music with someone that can’t sing until near 1am.
Unable to get a meal if not booked in advance..
No room service, we left the room to get tidy up and this didn’t happen, we had to do the bed and wash the cups… why do we paid for an hotel room if I have to do all of this???

The food is excellent and the room rate is great.
Excellent Inn 👍
We arrived early and we were met by “Steve the next door neighbour” a relative of the hotel and an awesome friendly guy with a wonderful dog who loves attention. Steve got us settled in to a room and was great company later in the Bar where we met friendly staff and then enjoyed great food…
What more could you ask for.

Did not have the breakfast but food in the afternoon and evening was superb. The owner and staff looked after us very well and were very friendly. the room we stayed in was great and very clean. Will be back again very soon.
we liked every aspect of our stay no negatives at all.

Considering we had essentially "gatecrashed" a family new year's eve party unintentionally, by booking last minute and being the only non friends or family member in the pub, everyone was lovely. We were made to feel very welcome. The steak was really good, cooked well. The bed was super comfy, a beautiful backdrop of the cader Idris mountain range. This was supposed to be our last motorbike adventure of 2023, however predicted storms made us take the car for safety, we were not disappointed by the beauty of the road from machynlleth to the pub which made up for not being on bikes. We will be back. Thank you to everyone who made such an effort to make us feel welcome despite not being family.
Could almost see your breath in the bedroom when we arrived, no heating on, found a radiator on the wall and an extra heater in the wardrobe. Set them to low and went for a drink before coming back upstairs for a shower by which time the room had warmed up. Not a major issue but maybe a suggestion that heating could be on low for an hour before guest arrival?

The room was simply amazing. I felt like a king, everything was clean, the room was gorgeous and big. I haven't been this comfortable sleeping in a long time, for a solo bed it really felt like a king bed
The only problem i had was when i arrived there were no instructions about the wifi like the manager told me they were, i had to ask to some friends from another room to get the password. And the electric socket in room 1 that has the kettle and the tv is loose and sometimes it doesn't connect so it could be a problem if watching tv or charging something since it was the only one with a usb imput

I was mightily surprised as Peniarth Arms only has 2 star rating, but I found it charming and ideal for my purposes. Ian and his wife were really helpful,, even keeping my drink flask which I accidentally left behind, and refilling it with Kenpro when I went back to collect it !

Room decor lovely. Rooms are clean but not spotless. Old building so wear & tear visible in rooms which is to be expected. Pillowcase protectors need replacing or washing as stained.
Need new pillows.
Lots of stairs to climb to rooms 1-4

Very pretty rooms, booked two for ourselves and granddaughters. Comfortable beds, and well appointed bathroom. Well stocked with towels and mini wash items.
Extra payment for breakfast but it was tasty and plentiful so no complaints.

The room was extremely cold ! Which was unwelcoming thought it would have been made warm for our arrival

we didn’t get to stay. I phoned to see if I could change the date due to the bad weather and was told to go through booking.com which I did. Booking.com then told me they had sent my request to the property so could I get in touch with the Peniarth directly. I sent 3 emails and had no reply. I phoned on 3 separate days and was told each time that the manager was not available. I left messages each time asking her to call me back but she didn’t. The last time I called the person I spoke to was very rude and virtually hung up on me. I gave up at this point deciding the stress wasn’t worth the booking fee that I had lost. Having read the reviews ‘rudeness and bad service ‘ seem to occur regularly. We stayed elsewhere when we did go to Tywyn not as convenient location wise but much less stressful. Won’t be booking the Peniarth again or even eat and drink there in the future.

the staff were friendly and the bar menu was good. the meal was hot and tasty. the building was attractive and easy to find with a good car park attached. the room was large and well equipped
the room was cold despite having a heater and heated towel rail
disappointed that breakfast was not available as the breakfast chef was off. there was no prior warning of this before our arrival. we had a six hour journey and availability of a good breakfast was an important part of our booking
