Es muy cálido, tiene un ambiente seguro y te sientes como en familia. Mara y Kelly son unas mujeres muy especiales, queridas y preocupadas por el bienestar de los huéspedes. El hostel tiene una camas donde se duerme bien y un patio lindo con frutas y gaticos.

O Hostel Caju me proporcionou a melhor experiência com hospedagem que tive em viagens. Seu principal ponto forte são as pessoas que nele trabalham. De uma sensibilidade única. Sensibilidade esta que facilita a cordialidade, o acolhimento e a conexão. A partir desse trato, minha passagem em Alter do Chão foi transformada. Troquei o foco no passeio em agências por sugestões de programas diurnos e noturnos. A passagem pela FLONA e a dança no carimbó, por exemplo, foram potencializadas, de um modo que sozinho não conseguiria. Keely, Raí, Ícaro e seus doguinhos e gatos são especiais. Recomendo o hostel para todos que desejam não só o melhor custo-benefício de Alter, mas que também estejam dispostos a fazerem trocas, terem boas conversas e se dispuserem a partilhar.

Very helpful staff! Even as we turned up one day early after messing up our calendar they found us a room, and as we were leaving super early after some days, they made breakfast and were very helpful with bus and taxi scheduling for us.

Silvia the owner of the hostel is outstandingly friendly, warmhearted and welcoming. You will feel very peaceful there. Breakfast was the best I had in my time in Brazil. You have fresh fruit as mango, papaya, cajú from her backyard which features all kind of delicious tropical fruit and herbs; cupuaçu juice, bread, delicious vegan banana-papaya pastes to put on your bread. The coffee is very aromatic and strong, whivh is not so common as anyone traveling Brazil knows and Silvia makes eggs and tapiocas if you wish. The rooms are clean, well equipped, the matracess and linen is new, the AC works superbly well and the kitchen has everything you need, including spices, oil, etc. Would always come again.

The hostel is further from the beach, etc. than most other places. On the other hand it's still only 10 minutes AND it's therfore very calm as well as close to the bus station.

First of all perfect hospitality, very good welcoming owner who makes you feel at home or as if you were visiting a close relative. We couldn’t thank her enough as we don’t speak Portuguese for her perfect rich homemade breakfast with a different fresh fruit juice everyday coming from her nice garden, for her patience to understand our « non existent Portuguese » and for her cozy,clean hostel very close to the center, bus station and beaches of Alter do Chao.
