The rooms are very basic, but the downstairs restaurant and staff makes more than up for it! And you still get your own en-suite bathroom including hot-water shower. The location is good, it's close to the beach and the bus to Chan-Achan and Trujillo. If you have the choice to stay in Trujillo or Juanchaco - stay here, in Juanchaco! Much more lively, sunset at the beach and surf lessons if you want to try.

I han an amazing time at My Fiend Hostel; the atmosphere is calm cool and relaxed! The walk to the beach is super short and Randy is the Man. His whole family is very welcoming and he makes great food. The third floor has a great rooftop hang out area and he was very knowledgeable about the area and had great tips on where to go/how to get there, Plus a great surf instructor. Had me standing up on the first wave!

The location is great as it’s a minutes walk from the beach, the beds were comfortable and cleaned each day, and the owner Randy was amazing! I definitely recommend his surf lessons as they’re very personalized and I was able to learn in just an hour or so. Will definitely be coming back!

That´s the BEST HOSTEL of Huanchaco ! The breakfast is just perfect and you can count with a lot of food ! Location is awesome, very close to the Playa ! Acomodation is also really good with a hot shower, confy bed and Randi will give you all the best tips about great surf spots, surf classes and a good variety of his own equipament to rent ! It’s a very laid-back surfer hostel with very nice staff also in the restaurant. You can take surfing lessons with Randy who really helps you improve your surfing skills. A huge breakfast is included and the restaurant is also perfect for lunch or dinner. The hostel has a little area where you could sit and socialise.

The hostel is very loud as it’s next to the main road going into town and because it’s above the restaurant it also smells like food a lot. Nevertheless we ended up staying 5 instead of 2 nights.

Breakfast was big and delicious, really hot shower water, everyone was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Had a blast doing surf lessons and recommend everyone to try!

Some rooms / facilities could use an upgrade or a fresh coat of paint.

Our host Ran was wonderful and extremely helpful regarding activities, food,... in the area. He was also a great surfing teacher and generally nice guy. The staff of the restaurant was super friendly as well and the breakfast was incredible. We could even use our room after check out time since our bus left late at night.

Randy and the staff at the hostel / restaurant were extremely nice during my stay. Since my bed was free before and after my stay, they had no problem in letting me check in earlier and check out later than usual. I also got very detailed information on what to do in Huanchaco and Trujillo and how to get around by public transport. Real quality breakfast included with the room, perfect to kick off your day. The extra services are very recommendable as well, I ended up having lunch several times in the hotel's restaurant (the menu is very good in terms of quality / price) and had a surf lesson in the beach next to the hostel.

I came with my sister 9 years ago, and this time I came with my fiancée. We are environmentalist, and we were looking for organic Wax. That’s how we met Randall. We came for one night and ended up staying 21 days with Tia Anita, Randal, Chicama and the staff. We travelled by car from Lima to Mancora and “MyFreeeend” is our favorite stop. Ingredients: Tia Anita, a friendly Dog, Randal the Maori, and a cool staff. They will make you feel like home and afterwards you’ll be part of MyFriend’s Family, 22 years of good vibes and stories. Staying at MyFriend isn‘t like staying in a normal hostel. When you‘re there you‘re part of the family. It‘s something I‘ve never experienced before. The breakfast and all the other meals were really, really delicious, the rooms clean, the place itself is very quiet but not far from the centre. Thanks a lot guys for everything and see you soon!

Randal makes you feel at home from the moment you get in. If you are looking to learn or improve your surf this is the place. He puts so much passion and dedication in his classes, observing every detail and guiding you to gain confidence and technique. Was planning to stay 3 days and finally stayed 6.

Really comfortable place close to the best wave. Really friendly owner with a lot of knowledge of the ocean. Great food for a great price.would recommend place to anyone going to huanchaco
