I am very picky and always afraid of getting a place that isn't as advertised. This house and Janette far exceeded expectations. Everything was VERY clean! It is one of the first rentals I didn't feel the need to clean again when I arrived. Comfortable beds. Easy walk to beach. Everything you need for a awesome week at the beach. Will definitely stay again.

The Cozy is just that! We all enjoyed our stay and with all the comforts of home! 1/2 block to the lake for easy quick access! Close to all the area offers yet feels off the beaten path, full of nature and quiet! Owner is wonderful and responsive! Charming home!

This was our third stay at The Cozy Cottage in Lakeside. We love this home - beautifully, beach-ily decorated, comfortable and welcoming! It was spotlessly clean when we arrived with chocolates, wine and flowers to greet us. The house is fully stocked with everything you might need except your swimsuit! :) We love how many beach toys are in the shed and the easy 5 minute (if that) walk to a beautiful beach. Owners are very responsive with any issues that come up. The cottage really shows their pride in ownership. We highly recommend this cottage for a visit to Lake Michigan and are looking forward to stay number 4 again soon!!

We had a lovely time at the Cozy Cottage. The location was a short walk to the beach . The beach was beautiful and most days quiet. Just what we were looking for.

This was our 2nd time staying here. It was so nice being familiar with the house, beach, and area. House is light and airy, neighborhood great for walks, and we basically had our own beach for the week. All was wonderful.

The house was very comfortable and cozy. They had everything you would possibly need. 1/2 block to the beach and the stairs were not bad at all. We can’t wait to go back again.

This house was a really great getaway for our family. The Lake was a short walk around the corner and our 4 year old had as much fun on the beach in late December as she does in the summer. Also loved the hot tub and indoor fireplace. We did a lot of cooking and appreciated all the gear in the kitchen as well as a few essentials like olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Thank you for accommodating our earlier check in as well.

What a nurturing place! Cozy Retreat is immaculately clean, comfortable beds, and a well stocked “cooks kitchen“. The hot tub is just steps out the back door and was lovely during the cool Michigan evenings. Already looking forward to going back!

Our family had a happy vacation! Enjoyed the beach everyday and the home is adorable in a private location. Great vacation all around!

This house was perfect for our family vacation! The house is nice on the outside and gorgeous on the inside. Very well stocked with kitchen tools, beach towels, bedding, etc. They also have lots of beach toys, umbrellas, chairs, and even a wagon that we used at the beach every single day. It's a short walk from the house down to the beach (~5 min) and it was no problem even with our two small children. Hot tub was a nice bonus! Janette was easy to work with and helped make our stay very enjoyable. Check in/out super easy. We will definitely be coming back!

This was our second time in this area and were very happy with everything. The beach was great - close to the house, clean, not too crowded. The house was stocked, clean, and cute. The owner had everything ready and went above and beyond to make us welcome. We will surely be back and are thankful for the time spent here!

Our group has a long history of enjoying Michigan beach vacations and the Cozy exceeded our expectations. Location can't be beat, house is truly cozy and host goes out of her way to make renters feel comfortable including much appreciated essentials. Who forgets coffee?! US, but host had plenty on hand to get us through until visited store. We have many reasons to love Michigan and the Cozy has been added to that extensive list!

This was our second vacation in the area and we were very happy with the house! Great location, easy walk to the private beach access. We appreciated the beach wagon, chairs, umbrella, floats, etc. available in the shed. Loved the layout of the house and the skylights. Kitchen was well stocked including foil, ziplocks, napkins, cleaning products. Owner was quick to respond when we had a question. We felt very welcomed by fresh flowers and chocolates when we arrived. Would definitely recommend this property.

Everything was perfect; location, amenities, information. It was spotless while having everything we needed from beach towels to toiletries to games and candles. Thank you for a dreamy place for our vacation!

We had another great stay at the Cozy Cottage! This time our grandchildren joined us and they thoroughly enjoyed the yard, hot "pool", and beach. Loved the addition of the fan on the screened-in porch. With the spacious front and back porch, we had lots of room to spread out. We'll be back in the fall!

We loved staying at the cozy cottage. It was clean and beautiful with a lot of light. Our host was very thoughtful and helpful throughout the process. The home is well appointed, in a lovely neighborhood, and close to the beach. We hope to be back to a gem of a place.

My 9 year old son and I just got back from a last minute, mid-week spring get-a-way to the Cozy Cottage in Lakeside. My extended family and I have been renting homes in Harbor Country for the last several years, and this home is my new favorite. I knew it would be cute based on the photos, but the home truly exceeded my expectations. First of all, the host, Janette, was very responsive and accommodating to my last minute booking. When we arrived, the home was immaculate, warm and welcoming with a jar of chocolates waiting for us. The home is beautifully decorated in a lovely beach cottage theme. We felt right at home and very comfortable. The home is more spacious than I expected, and the beds and couch are very comfy. The home offers so much - a great front porch, an awesome screened in porch (with comfortable furniture too! We used this room the most), a nice sized front yard for kids to play in, and it has the perfect location -- a block from a small, but beautiful, private beach. Even though it was early April, we got lucky with an 80 degree day (and we went to the beach the next day too which was 60 and rainy... we still had fun!). It is also just a few minutes drive to Whistle Stop cafe, Union Pier shops and an easy drive to New Buffalo restaurants. The other thing that really stood out to me was how well stocked the home was from the kitchen, linens, to the shed full of beach supplies. You can tell the hosts put so much thought into ensuring their guests have a wonderful, relaxing, carefree time. I would highly recommend this home and will plan to rent again. My only regret was that we couldn't stay longer due to my son's sports activities. Thank you Janette and family for renting your beautiful home to us.

After a long winter we were glad to spend a few days by the lake. The cottage was spotless, full of light and a great place to relax. The beach is beautiful and just a short walk away.

This cottage was very nice cozy and clean. Everyone loved the hot tub and so convenient to the lake. Even though it was chilly still fished and got in the water not very long though. The whole family enjoyed the cottage.

The location was great as it’s literally down the street from the beach. The owner was very attentive and even hung a birthday sign for our daughter. It had everything we could possibly need in the kitchen. It doesn’t have an outdoor fire pit which would have been fun but it does have a wood burning fireplace indoors. It felt very cozy.

I stayed for 3 nights on an impromptu getaway for me and my two teenage daughters. We had everything we needed and the beach was a 2 minute walk away. We enjoyed sunrise, sunset and the hot tub each day. Making breakfast and dinner together was easy because the kitchen is fully stocked with all the gear we needed. I highly recommend the property if you’re looking to relax. Janette was very responsive and friendly.

The Cozy cottage was the perfect spot to spend a long relaxing weekend. We did some hiking on the beach, which is a couple of blocks away. We relaxed by the fire and enjoyed the outdoor hot tub each night. The house was super clean, and had everything we needed to cook with, including the outside grill. After being cooped up for what seems like all of 2020, my family needed a change of scenery; if we were going to be stuck inside at least we'd have a different view! :) The cozy cottage was the perfect location! Each of our two girls got their own room and they loved how comfy the couch is. We had a blast playing board games with a fire in the fireplace and ended each night with a dip in the hot tub.

The booking and rental process was very easy and the host did a great job of communicating prior to our visit. The property was very clean, well furnished, and was perfect for our family (parents and 3 teenage children) for Christmas! We had a couple of minor issues during our stay but the owners quickly replied to our messages and took care of things. I would highly recommend staying here and hope to do so again sometime soon!!!
