The owner is really nice, he is available to help if you need anything from calling a taxi to tour. He let us check out late and didn't care how late. He even fed my kids before we leave. Lots of hammock to lay around and the beach is nice and quiet.
Limited restaurant options

If you are looking for a quiet place to explore the beautiful nature of Machalilla National Park you should stay in Algarrobo.
The Hotel is beautiful... You can enjoy the sunset, the sea breeze and the sound of the waves. I loved it. Gracias...

The place is beautiful!! Very clean, great decoration, full of nice details. The hamacas was one of my favorites. Nice breakfast a little expensive (5 dollars). Tito (the manager) was super nice, and the rest of the staff (Mario and Laura) were always taking care of everything with a big smile. I definitively recommend this place if you are looking for a place to enjoy the beach and going to sleep with the sound of the ocean.
The only thing we didn't like is that the room (we stayed in room 3) has the toilet inside the room. No intimacy if you are a couple and also the smell. Please put a door that separates them!!! Also the air conditioning was very old. Its works but was so noisy that we had to turn it off at night.

I liked the attention. Very good customer service. Both Ana & Tito were really nice and easy going people. No complaints from me. Had a good time. Thank you. Definitely coming back.

The ambience by the beach and the view from the balcony were the best part of this stay.
It needs a little more cleanliness in the rooms.

Dontitio and Mario were very friendly and made us feel so welcome! They were super accommodating with us arriving early and checking out late. Breakfast was also excellent and the hostal is right in front on the beach. Overall the stay was one of the best I've had. I would definitely reserve this spot again.

The place is amazing. You get a good rest. The ocean view is breathtaking. Tito is an amazing host, he'll do anything to make your stay the best. He even hooked us up with a whale watching tour. His property has lots of handmade decorations all over the house. The sounds of the ocean will reset your clock to a better sleep. The food is amazing and fresh, he should be in MasterChef. 100% recommended!
Internet connectivity low, but if go to rest, not needed.

The hostal is located at the north end of the working fishing village (can’t stress this enough as this sort of place is not for everyone). This means it’s quieter than the southern end of the beach (always more to my personal taste). The views are gorgeous and there are hammocks on the terrace from which to watch the sunset and the locals in their evening swim/play.
I was upgraded from my original room because the hostal was quiet which was wonderful. I had the double room with private bathroom and sea view on the first floor and loved it! Hot water, plenty of space for your stuff.
The breakfast in the morning is well worth the extra cost especially since there’s not a lot of options to eat out in the village. I bought food at the local store and made my own dinner in the well equipped kitchen. Anyway, the owner made me a spectacular fruit plate each morning, with different fruit each time. He also went out to get fresh bread which was still warm when he got back and served it with butter and preserve. He also makes eggs but I don’t eat them. All the tea and coffee you need. So much care and attention given to make sure ‘todo bien’.
I also enjoyed the decor of the place, very cute and rustic, lots of seating areas to chill. The trees on the property host lots of singing birds and geckos.
The beach is thriving with nature; pelicans, vultures and other impressive sea-sky prowlers are ever present. Crabs and lizards catch your eye until they notice you and scurry off. Make sure you head down the south end of the beach to see the pelicans fishing in the evening. It’s a sight to behold.
Also, the national park is within walking distance for some beautiful beaches and lookouts.
I had a great time here and if you like authentic fishing village life, so will you.
I liked everything about the property itself but bear in mind there are few facilities (no ATM, a couple of small stores/restaurants) in the village so be prepared to scale down your needs to the basics and bring cash with you. I didn’t and I had to make what I had stretch!

This place is very friendly, calm and comfortable. Here is nice roof where you can sit on hamakas and enjoy the view on the sea. The price is perfect for location and quality of the accommodation. You can share the kitchen where is available coffee and tea for a small fee.
Accommodation is perfect. Just one think that the mattress was uncomfortable.

It is in front of the beach
The owner tried to control every aspect of the client. I do not like that. Also he did not want to give a receipt for the stay.
