beautiful accommodation with a perfect view above calheta. everything in place where you need it. really nice welcome gift, courteous host clean

at first we had some problems with bugs - but we could fix it. at this time of the year sometimes a bit cold but perfect for warmer days!

This property is exceptional, We were a couple and we had so much room and a choice of three bedrooms! Two bedrooms are linked and to get to one means walking through another which may be a problem. great swimming pool, unheated but bracing and on a hot day on the loungers or after a walk. The views from the property are wonderful, it is located high on the south west facing hill above Calheta so it gets the day and evening sun, great sunsets. it is a short easy uphill walk to the lavada Nova, walking in either direction along it is easy and wonderful. The property is beautifully appointed, absolutely everything is provided. A highlight for us was the barbeque where we cooked 4 dinners during our 10 day holiday, it is so relaxing to sit with the sun, wine, a view and a sunset. A car is absolutely essential. Excellent restaurants but all are 5/10 minutes by car. On the other hand Funchal is only just over 30 minutes via the expressway, we ate there a couple of times.

The house is really nice, very spacious, is in a quiet location, about 45min from Funchal, has good wi-fi connection, has comfortable beds, provides a parking space and the host was very nice, arranged for an early check-in and prepared a nice welcome lunch with ham, cheese & wine and was available all the time to answer questions we had during our week-long stay. Very recommendable!

Some of the kitchen pots & pans need renewal, but other than that there is nothing to complain about.

Everything - the facilities, the house was spacious, the location, the private barbeque and extra cooker outside, etc. It's a good spot for a relaxing holiday.

A very welcoming reception by the host on a beautiful location overlooking the ocean and a good place to start your hike along the levada, we felt on holiday the moment we arrived at Casa dos Reis. The place feels historic but is very comfortable at the same time.

Helpful hosts there to greet us on arrival. Nice house with everything you need for a family holiday. Lovely outside area for cooking, eating and playing. Near a safe beach and park for children. Great holiday.
