I don't usually write negative reviews, but this hotel definitely deserves one. It started off with the payment. While booking on this website, the hotel required payment beforehand, which I prefer. After confirming with my creditcard, they declined my payment twice, stating they just needed the creditcard for security. I wouldn't have minded, but the price (in Soles) they charged me at the reception was way higher than the final price (including service charge) mentioned by Booking.com. When I asked the lady at the counter about this, she gave me a strange story about their own personal exchange rate into USD, irrelevant since I paid in local currency. In addition, our room was definitely not clean, the curtains and towels were ridden with stains, there was mold on the ceiling and there were a lot of hairs in the bathroom. To make matters worse, the construction noises in front of our room made any form of relaxing impossible. Luckily, we booked only two nights. Although the facilities (swimming pool, breakfast) are okay, I strongly advise you to take your money elsewhere.

Breakfast was adequate except for: is it me or coffee is not served piping hot anymore in Peru? Coffee was luke warm, had to ask for boiling water in the kettle. This is a property located on a cliff down the beach. Pretty surroundings and all, however there's a very steep climb through wooden stairs through the beach restaurant and up the cliff on cement blocks. The front desk is at the top of the property so anything you need to discuss or run by them (phones in the rooms dont work) you have to walk up the cliff to find these younger kids at their desks in the only air conditioned room in the property while you do all the sweating, and hauling up and down the cliff huffing and puffing! The restaurant atop of the property closes from 5 to 7, no room service at that time either, so if you get hungry, you have to go all the way down to the beach restaurant and back up. It´s literally physically exhausting. Thats something they dont mention on their brochures or ads. Neither that its not a people with disabilities friendly, or the elder, place. The volume regeton and salsa are played all day at the beach place is just very uncomfortable added to the unpleasantness of that kind of music itself. Forget a mellow rest by the sea. Not at El Mirador, sorry folks but you must consider all kinds of guests staying at your property, not all are in their 20´s and in 24/7 caribbean style party mode. They had to switch me to a different room for a wifi problem. turns out the new room's wifi had trouble too. The worst part of that was that the front desk clerk had to come to my room, check my laptop settings to verify I was doing it correctly! and so again with my iphone!! turned out he was not right and had to go out and come back after resetting some central unit or something. Kids, the fact we look older doesnt mean we dont know how to get a wifi signal. How quick they forget our generation is to be thanked for their virtual comfortable lifestyle. The End!

The staff and the beach
The chef caused food poisoning. We had a leak in the toilet which flooded our room three times until they changed our room

wonderful views! great to have the ocean side but also the breeze of being farther up the hill to sleep. the pool was nice too. Alex is a server there that was so kind with his time to walk us through menus, because our Spanish is not good. he was awesome! the location is amazing, a great value considering the places around it are so much more expensive.
some might not like the walk uphill to the hotel, but I enjoyed the exercise after eating and lounging most of the day :)

a peaceful environment
The rooms were far from the ocean, didn’t seem as pictured in regard to the location. First day we got there, we ate near the beach at the restaurant and were given wings that were really old and the fries had just been refried and were stale. We ended up eating at the restaurant closer to the rooms and didn’t have this problem anymore but was very dissatisfied with the food we had received that was stale. Also got sick from the club sandwich.

It was clean and the view was really nice.
The bumpy roads to get to the hotel could be a lot better and the steep hill to get to your room should be better too. Also they should let the guests know what wifi password to use and when they are going to cut off the water.

La vista desde la habitación. Y la atención
My fiance and I stayed at this hotel for almost two weeks And we were very happy with this hotel. The staff were very friendly And attentative. The food was good And the rooms were clean And the price good. On our last night we decided to stay at the chain hotel on the beach, Big mistake. If You are planning a tríp to the área i would highly recommend. Also off street parking And guard at the gate
