The staff at Al-Shorouq are exceptional, so friendly, welcoming, and helpful we felt almost like family! Our apartment was very spacious, air conditioning worked well and there was plenty of hot water. The decor etc is showing some signs of age but everything is scrupulously clean and everything worked as it is supposed to. Although on a busy road the apartment was very quiet. An added bonus was the fantastic Indian restaurant downstairs, and there are several other good restaurants literally two minutes walk, plus two laundry/dry cleaners (very reasonable prices), and a convenience store.

It was all good. The rooms and facilities are a little worn but for this price it was all amazing.

Well worth the affordable price. Really good service, clean apartment, good amenities, apartment included bedroom and separate kitchen, living room and two bathrooms so very spacious.

This was not a problem for us, but the tap options are warm and hot (no cold). There is no air conditioning in the hallways outside the apartment but this is fine for the price.

I felt forced to leave a ‘ten star’ review after several messages from the hotel, but the room it wasn’t that clean, the facilities were mediocre, the atmosphere wasn’t good, the freezer didn’t freeze, there were no cooking facilities, one of the two airconditionings was faulty and noisy, and the room smelt really mouldy as soon as the airconditioning switched of.

No tea or coffee 😞 Spar near to get some though. Parking gets busy with restaurant guests taking up spaces in the day and evening. No cover for cars.

Very basic hotel rooms for Western standards. There was no free shuttle service from the airport available, although the description says the hotel offers this service. The night of my arrival the wi-fi was rather erratic and it took a while for the connection to stabilise. The staff are very helpful and went to great lenghts liasing with the Muscat airport to resolve my 'luggage not arrived at destination' issue.

The Hotel is well located on the main road with adequate parking and a convenient department store just adjacent. The staff were kind, sincere and helpful. The room was comfortable and well-lit and the furnishings sufficient. I would certainly recommend this place!

The water pressure in the showers was a bit low and the refrigerator was noisy.

Staff was very kind. The room was huge, actually it was an apartment with the kitchen and two bathrooms. The beds were comfortable. Location was convenient.

Probably nothing to do with a hotel, but there was a party in the building and although the music was nice, it kept us awake for some time. Luckily all ended at midnight:)

Very friendly staff. Large apartment with two bathrooms and kitchen, quite and clean. Good Indian restaurant in the same building. Supermarket next door. Great location - bus A1 from airport to Ruwi bus station, bus 4 to the hotel, same bus 4 goes to the Fish market and along the Corniche all the way till the area around Sultan's palace.

Very well equipped spacious and clean rooms, excellent service, very friendly and helpful staff. Location is ideal for trips to Mutrah souk, and other places of interest. We had a great stay there and will surely come back again.

Nothing was wrong, we were very happy with our stay in this hotel.

The staff, when prompted, was very responsive in our enquiries when we asked them to clean the room. The hotel agreed in giving the possibility to have a shower to two friends. This is a budget hotel, we ended up here as other options were not available. Unless you are on a tight budget, you have other options in Muscat/Muttrah. The location is perfect if you have a car, as principal tourist attractions are not reachable walking.

We had an apartment which is very outdated and dirty, for example we found cockroaches in the kitchen. The hotel needs a big refurbishment, it seems stuck few decades back. Furniture is much older than in the photos. The bathroom especially could get a bit of renovation. Our room on the first floor had the shower plate dirty, in the kitchen the drawers were completely patched with stains from previous guests. The sink leaks and water runs across the floor. The apartment is not clean and we were attacked by bedbugs during the stay. We had several stay in our trip to Oman, and this was the most unsatisfactory of them all. Can't understand why hotel has such a high rating. It is an old and bad maintained hotel.

The apartment was pretty big and the staff was nice and polite, they tried to accomodate every needs we had.

Unfortunately no breakfast and the location is pretty far from the city centre (3km)

the position, close to Matrah Corniche and Suq. the kindness of the staff, especially Dharam the Indian restaurant downstairs was good the apartment was really large

Stayed here twice (begin and end of our vacations). Perfect spot for our journey. Relatively close to the airport and Muscat beaches with car. Spacious rooms and very nice staff around and bonus - very good indian restaurant in the house.

If you choosed to rent a car Al shorouq hotel has the best position close ti A1 Road. No problem to park at all Shorouq hotel Is the perfect hotel for budget travellers....It Is not perfect but the room are large and clean( clean sheets every day!)

Some parts must be renowed.....but It Will be a budget hotel anymore? Hotel Is very near ti A1 Road so it s quite normal rooms are a Little bit noisy

The staff was very friendly. They upgraded us to a very big room, with a kitchen, living room. It is located in a good area, 30 minute walk to the corniche. water was hot and pressure was good. was very comfortable.

Friendly staff, very spacious, and close to all nearby attractions. Will definitely return. Fantastic wifi aswell to stay connected.
