Our family stayed in Roberto and Marta’s wonderful apartment for 2.5 weeks. The location was perfect. It is in the historical center but on the edge so it was a nice quiet place to return to. The apartment is lovely. It’s light and bright. The bedrooms are roomy and the kitchen was efficient. You can tell that Roberto and Marta take pride in what they do. They provided a lot of information for Bologna as well as other areas and Roberto was always available to help or answer any questions. I would love to return to Bologna and would happily stay here again. Highly recommend!

When I first saw this property, I was skeptical when I saw so many positive reviews. Well, I can honestly say that it deserves a ten star rating! Roberto and Marta go above and beyond to make it easy for their guests to have a perfect stay. Communications are great, from the very first minute I booked. Roberto provides a wealth of information on the apartment and on the beloved city of Bologna. We were provided with many suggestions on restaurants, markets, sights to see, all with easy to use maps.The apartment is very cheerful and the decor is amazing--from incredible artwork to interesting decorative pieces. The place is incredibly clean and the beds are very comfortable. The kitchen is well-equipped, and the washing machine is a plus! The apartment is conveniently located near historical sights and wonderful restaurants and cafes. Roberto and Marta live nearby and are available if you need them. And if you don't, the give you your privacy, too. I would highly recommend this property. I look forward to returning sometime soon. There is so much to see...and so many good restaurants, you can't cover them all in just a one week visit! Thank you, Roberto and Marta. You are the perfect hosts. An abundance of information about Bologna - attractions, restaurants, grocery stores, transportation/attractions in nearby cities and much more. Our stay in Bologna was nothing short of magnificent. This property is absolutely beautiful with all the amenities you could want and more. Two bedrooms and two large bathrooms. Beautifully furnished kitchen and living room all just steps away from wonderful restaurants, bars, and shopping. We could not have chosen a better location and our hosts, Roberto and Marta were absolutely amazing! Our flight was delayed and they were so kind and waited up for us past midnight to make sure we were checked in safely and that we were comfortable. We cannot thank them enough for everything they did to make our stay in Bologna extra special. This truly was one of the most comfortable, cleanest, and best locations we have rented to date. We highly recommend staying at this property in Bologna, and we would not hesitate to book this beautiful home again. Thank you, Roberto and Marta for all that you did to make our stay incredible. Roberto and Marta are the quintessential hosts. They are accommodating on every level and help you navigate whatever it is that you might need. The apartment is beautiful, fantastic design with elegance. It’s not an apartment, it’s a home. If Bologna is your destination there is no better place to stay.

We are frequent travellers to Italy and this would be the best apartment we have stayed in. The attention to detail is extraordinary. And the hosts, Roberto and Marta are welcoming and very kind.

We were 2 couples visiting Bologna for the first time. Roberto and Marta were very communicative and helpful in the weeks leading up to our visit and were there to greet us, help us park, and settle into the apartment. They put great thought and effort into ensuring we enjoyed our time in Bologna from creating guides for sightseeing and eating to public transportation schedules. In addition, they were available to us throughout our stay. The apartment is even more lovely and spacious than it appears in the pictures. It was comfortable, well appointed and creatively decorated with original art. The location was perfect - grocery stores, cafes, and restaurants were within blocks. Piazza Maggiore and the historic heart of Bologna was an easy 15 min walk. We highly recommend Casa Marta!!!

Are there any better hosts than Roberto and Marta? I can't imagine anyone better. The apartment is beautiful, they are incredibly helpful, communicative, and caring. Roberto takes his job as host very seriously and has numerous maps, recommendations, and descriptions of everything you want to do and see in the entire region. Absolutely incredible.

From our first contact until our parting moment, Marta and Roberto were instantly available to provide answers, information and help in all aspects of our stay. They were a perfect combination of being accessible while at the same time respecting our privacy, paying attention to every detail. Sometimes pictures do not live up to the reality but in this case, the pictures don’t begin to capture the beauty, spaciousness and cleanliness of the apartment. It is so beautiful that I wanted to come home and redo my house. It really is a perfect home with superior hosts. Thank you Marta and Roberto.

This property is a dream for anyone visiting Bologna. In 35+ years of travels and stays at hundreds of hotels and private residences, the stay at this property is placed at the very top. My cousin and I had to attend a business conference for 5 days. In my previous stays in Italian hotels, rooms were always good but not great and pricey! It was time to consider a private residence. The decision turned out to be outstanding. Here are some details: The apartment is very large. It has 2 large bedrooms, 3 large size bathrooms and showers, a fully equipped kitchen that had everything you would need to prep any meal (as we did) by simply visiting the full scale supermarket/ grocery store located only one block away. Last but not least, there is a great dining/ family room with large screen TV (additional one in the BR). You have access to Netflix, Prime & YouTube and more. There is a brand new state of the art wash machine, iron and ironing table. The unit is decorated impeccably (this coming from someone who has been in the high-end home furnishing business in Seattle for 25 years). It is very well lit, we even got to enjoy (for the first time) the assistance of Alexa for music in the kitchen and have become a believer in her A.I. abilities. In my opinion, the unit can easily accommodate 4 adults and couple of kids. And the best part: Roberto The host ! A great man who communicates efficiently & effectively. There were a few coordinating steps that needed to take place prior to arrival. He replied to all questions quick and accurately. During the 5 days, Roberto provided any assistance we needed as well as great recommendations for nearby eateries and coffee shops. He is a walking Wikopedia. He took every step imaginable to make our stay pleasant & comfortable, from arrival to departure. Just a great down to earth person (he lives right next door in case anything is needed). Unit location: It is literally in the heart of old town but yet just couple of short blocks away from the center of all the activities/ & excitements. Dear Roberto and Marta, We would like to sincerely thank for an amazing stay at your gorgeous home. It was truly a 5 star experience. The apartment is so beautiful and tastefully decorated. Everything is brand new and works beautifully and is very spacious. The kitchen is large and well appointed with everything one could possibly need. The bedrooms are big and extremely comfortable as are the bathrooms. This is really a home away from home with every modern feature you could possibly need. The air conditioning works great especially since it was a bit hot when we were here. Roberto’s hospitality was incredible. He was so kind and helpful and went out of his way to welcome us and help us check in out with ease. I’ve never met anyone more helpful. There are many books with suggestions on where to go and what to do so they made the stay as easy as possible. It was such a pleasure to meet the host, Roberto, and we are incredibly grateful to have found this lovely home in a very convenient area in Bologna. Roberto and Marta were one of the best hosts we have ever met. Pre-rental communications were timely and super helpful. Roberto explained everything in the apartment when we arrived and generously left us a bottle of bubbly and beers as a welcome. The house is very well appointed, spacious and super clean. Everything you could need has already been thought of and provided. Marble floors, large eat in kitchen, large comfortable beds and even a bathroom with a double shower and lots of hot water. Air conditioning throughout the apartment was greatly appreciated as there was a 3 day heat wave! Roberto also has created a 5 volume (!) “library” filled with all kinds of information about Bologna; the art, food, restaurants, touring info. He also helped us more than most concierges at pricey hotels. His suggestion to use an app called “train” allowed us to buy tickets in advance. This turned out to be the best advice as the train station was controlled chaos due to a strike the day before. One last point..if you love to shop and cook, go to the Mercato d’erbes and get beautiful produce, cheese, meats and pasta and go back to your beautiful apartment and make yourself delicious meals. The apartment is 10 minute walk to tourist center which we liked. I finally learned how to use Moka pot for espresso thanks to detailed instructions given to me by Roberto! This apartment is absolutely beautiful, spotless and has every single thing you would ever need. It is clear the hosts take enormous pride in their apartment. No need to look anywhere else! It is situated in a perfect location, at the right distance outside the centre and close to the train station which has trains departing to every corner of Italy, making Bologna a great base to explore other parts of the country. We have never ever met such gracious, warm and helpful hosts as Marta and Roberto. They are two exceptional people. We had problems on our last day with non-delivery of PCR test results and Roberto stood at our side and helped us until the problem was resolved. Really extraordinary collegiality and warmth from him. We will be forever grateful. The locals in Bologna are very gracious and charismatic and we will be returning to Bologna and to this apartment as soon as we can! So highly recommended.

As a family this was our first trip to Europe so the unknowns and particulars of this trip was a bit daunting but booking this lovely apartment was the best decision we could have made. Roberto & Marta provided us with so much information at the time of the booking which was so helpful it eased our anxiousness of this adventure. We stayed in Bologna as a home base to visit Bologna and the surrounding sites in Tuscany so the location from the train was perfect. The train was an easy walkable route from the apartment. We weren’t far from the city center of Bologna but also had plenty of cafes and restaurants to choose from near the apartment. We didn’t cook during our stay but the kitchen is well supplied with amenities. We are not from a city but our stay in this lovely city we felt safe and comfortable. I was just amazed at the space in this apartment and decorated with such a flare. The communication with our hosts was superb before and during our stay. They went above all expectations for a most memorable experience.

Marta’s house is the perfect place to stay for your vacation in Bologna. The location could not be better; halfway between the train station and the city center.
