The property was perfect for our group, completely furnished and fully equipped with everything we needed. The host was very helpful and checking in and out was easy.
The position was spectacular, and the weather was sunny enough to use the garden furniture and go down to the beach directly from the garden. We were lucky to see a grey seal pup and mother on the beach - magical.
Would definitely recommend.

Great location, enjoyed the private beach and big garden. Lots of room in the house and Joe was a great host. Recommended.

Blown away by the setting when we walked around the house on arrival. Great safe space for kids and lovely beach. House ideal for large mixed age family group - never felt crowded.
It is an older house, but everything we needed was there, and we had a great holiday. Joe was readily contactable if needed and very helpful.

Overall very good. House was very clean and spacious. Parking available for at least 3 cars .having our own private beach was awesome and the view out to the see was therapeutic.
Lovely surrounding countryside not far from the town of Arklow .

Oban is ideally located to explore the east coast of Ireland. The setting, sea views and beach were picturesque. Joe and Liam were welcoming and very responsive when we reached out with questions over our 2 week stay. While the beach is accessible by private path, having beach chairs provided would have been helpful. The floor plan was perfect for our family and the baths nicely updated. Some of the main furnishings were a bit dated and untidy. The kitchen was a nice layout and size with everything we needed, however, the cabinets were overflowing with “stuff”. Could use a little care and decluttering.
All in all, we had a wonderful vacation and could recommend this charming home rental.

We loved having private quiet yard with beach and ocean views. You can hear the ocean when you sleep. Owner was available quickly to answer questions about directions and other things.
Nice big house. Has everything we needed. Thanks Joe!

Lovely location, great size for our family group but felt very tired and needed a good clean.
No pictures of the bathrooms on the listing and they were in need of decorating and maintenance.
We had a good time as the location and layout were great for us, but just felt disappointed with how it is all presented. The overall impression when we arrived was downbeat, but we got over it as the week went on and liked the house and it's views.

Our second trip to this wonderful cottage. Unbeatable location, amazing views and beach. Miss waking up to the sound of the waves gently breaking on the beach. A good week relaxing with family.

We had a great holiday. The house is as beautiful as you can see on the photos.
The view is fantastic and when you wake up in the morning you can hear the sound of the sea. My favorite impressions!

Renting a cottage on the Irish Sea was on my bucket list. The Oban cottage was everything I hoped it would be!

If I could afford to move to Ireland and buy this house, I wouldn’t change a single thing about it! Oban feels like home as soon as you walk in. The views are completely breathtaking and the amenities are amazing. We walked the beach and collected beautiful stones for hours, enjoyed the wonderful town of Arklow, and took some easy day trips out (but were always so glad to come back home to Oban). We can’t wait to come back next year!

Oban is just right for a family gathering. The house is spacious and is complemented by the large garden. Having the sea in such close proximity is an added bonus. We thoroughly enjoyed the time we spent there.

The Sunny Southeast. My first trip to Co Wicklow was more than I could have asked for. The sun, surf, amazing company in a home that easily accommodated 10 of us. All of the amenities that we could have asked for with an amazing view. Oban is a very special place and I hope we get to return one day. Thank you, Joe. From one Kelly family to another. Cheers

This lovely home about an hour outside of Dublin was great for our large group of nine adults. Communication with the host was prompt and check in was easy. Home had lots of bedrooms and bathrooms for everyone. The Irish Sea view was fabulous and the beach below was lovely. If you are touring around the east coast and Dublin this is a great spot to be. Thanks so much for everything.

We had a lovely stay in County Wicklow. The place was as described with plenty of space and very comfy for just hanging out and enjoying a bit of time off. The location was great and worked well for several visits around Ireland. Thanks to Joe for letting us stay

This cozy and spacious home could not be in a more lovely location. It is equipped with everything we needed and the view is gorgeous.
The steps down to the private beach were thick with wildflowers. The ocean - glorious.
The views from inside the home are just stunning. We hated to leave and we hope to return!

This was a very quiet peaceful sea view property however, was so close to the amenities of Arklow and quick access to the N11 motorway for day trips. Perfect base for a safe and family friendly visit to the Wicklow region.

A simply heavenly stay in a little slice of beachy beauty. Lovely rolling garden well maintained with picturesque pathway to your own private beach shared with one other house. Oban is an idyllic retreat with the sound of rolling waves & birdsong all round. The bonus is that there are so many attractions nearby. Will certainly be back. Michael & Crew

My husband and I, along with our two fiends, enjoyed a week-long stay in this charming cottage near Arklow. The view of the water in the morning and the sound of the waves at night made this a perfect retreat from stress and strain. The sun room was perfect for sipping our morning tea and we enjoyed a roaring fire in the cute fireplace during the evenings. The location was ideal for day tripping to Dublin (we visited Malahide Castle and Gardens. the Teeling Distillery, and the Dublin Zoo), We also checked out Wexlow and Wicklow. The cottage was very comfortable and we took advantage of a warm day in September to swim in the bay and comb the beach for unique shells and stones. The great back yard and closeness to the beach makes this cottage ideal for families or just young-at-heart adults looking for a quiet place to relax.
Joe, the owner, was very responsive and helpful. We also found the locals in the Arklow shops and restaurants very friendly. The Asian Take-away from Taurus was the best we have had anywhere and the prawn chips are addictive! I really enjoyed the ribs at The Old House and my husband was pleased with the free sandwiches at Christy's Pub that really hit the spot after a couple of pints.

We didn’t want to leave this little, seaside haven after a lovely 10 day stay. Fantastic hosts, convenient location for exploring County Wicklow and a cozy home that makes even the rainiest days a holiday. We can’t wait to return some day!

We spent a lovely week in " Oban". The house was spacious enough and well equipped to accommodate 10 adults, (no problems in the childrens bunkbeds). Also parking space for the cars, which are needed to get to the shops and the starting points for longer walks. We found Greystones a good place for easy train connections to Dublin. The weather proved good enough for some breakfasts and teas on the deck and a barbecue at the very end of the lawn with a view to a regatta at sea. Would certainly recommend this house.

We had a fabulous family holiday at Oban. Joe has been really helpful and quick to respond to any queries. The house is clean and spacious with very comfortable beds. It easily accommodated all 10 of us including children. The views from the house are spectacular. We enjoyed sitting out in the lovely garden and the private beach was a big hit with the kids. We went for a few walks along the beach and spotted a seal swimming there too! We made trips into Arklow , Wicklow and Dublin all easily done by car. A wonderful holiday home!

This house is in a perfect setting with its private laneway down to beautiful Brittas beach. The house itself is very well laid out, fully equipped, clean and comfortable. Not to be missed - Wicklow Gaol; a drive over the Wicklow Mountains (make sure you have plenty of petrol); Hunter's Hotel in Rathnew. We will be back. Jeanette and family.

We had a very good time in wicklow. The house is beautiful.
The owner was very kind to help us when we had any questions or little problems, he did the best he could to make our holiday unforgettable.
The space is big enough for 10 adults. The kitchen was well equiped. The garden Large and green, and the see rough and beautiful. You need a car to travel around, because you are in the middle of the countryside. All Irish people we met are very friendly and we will return to visit other places of this beautiful and amazing country.
Thanks Joe for everything💐

Thank you Joe and family for opening your house to our family in Febuary! This was our first time renting a house as we usually stay in hotels in Dublin City. Staying in Arklow made much more sense to us financially and allowed us to cook our meals at 'home' and of course we had the beach to ourselves too which wasn't too bad either!
During our stay we were able to travel to Dingle for a night, visit New Grange, Millicent Abbey, Waterford, Wexford, Hook Head Lighthouse, Dublin City, Johnnie Foxs and of course a pint in Arklow!
This house comes highly recommended and I've already sent the link to a friend in the states. Oban was comfortable, inviting, and had everything we needed!
Thank you again!

The property was lovely and perfect for our needs! We were a large group and the home was spacious and comfortable. We loved the sunroom! The views are beautiful and it was a lovely place to wind down from a day of touring the area. We loved the location - it was easy to get around, and a great place to relax for those days when we just wanted to stay put and enjoy the beach. I would definitely recommend this lovely cottage!

We had a fabulous stay. The house has all the amenities we required (outside grill, large backyard with swing, multiple clean bathrooms, and large kitchen). Even with 10 guests, the house felt roomy and there's nothing like sitting on that magnificent deck and gazing out at the sea....Private access to a sandy beach was perfect for my 3 sons to make multiple trips per day. We also had 5 days in a row of perfect sunshine!
The location of the home is ideal since it was approximately 1 hour from Dublin and 5 minutes from Arklow town, where there are many options for grocery shopping. We took a day trip to climb Sugar Loaf and another short trip away to Clara Lara funpark (a huge hit with my sons)!
Overall, the house was clean and well-maintained. Joe was very responsive and I would definitely recommend this property to a friend. We will be be back!

We had a brilliant week's holiday at Oban.
On arrival we were so pleased to find everything just right for our extended family. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking and feeding 10 hungry mouths! The large living area and garden are ideal for little (and not so little!) ones to relax or run about. And the private beach at the end of the garden path was super. Stone-collecting became a favourite pastime during our week stay!
Wicklow is such a beautiful place to be. We were blessed with good weather and found visiting Avoca mill and coffee shop, Glendalough, Brittas Bay beach, Powerscourt Gardens and waterfall, and a wee trip to the play park in Arklow all suited our wee group from 18months to 69 years of age!
We thoroughly enjoyed our week in Oban, the house is beautiful and in such a beautiful setting. We would definitely recommend this lovely holiday to anyone looking for a peaceful get-away, with space around to relax or play or visit in the beautiful County Wicklow!

A lovely spacious family friendly property in a great location. The house itself comes well equipped and provides lots of living space.
The enclosed outdoor space was well maintained and very enjoyable for the children. They had great fun playing on the swings and running about the apples trees.
The private access to the beach was a great bonus as the private beach area was another lovely place for the children to play. The access to the beach needs a little clearing of vegetation.
There were great amenities in the property, including satellite TV and WIFI. The Weber barbecue was well used as we had great weather.
The property's close location to the thriving fishing town of Arklow and Brittas bay was very good, providing a wealth of activities for three generations of the one family.
Other great tourist attractions, such as Avoca and Powerscourt are within a short car journey. We would highly recommend a visit to Powerscourt waterfall on a good day, but make sure to bring a picnic!
We would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a great house in a central seaside location.

We had a lovely stay at Oban and were very lucky with the weather so we could really enjoy the garden and our grandchildren loved being able to go down to the beach and sea so easily. This was a 3 generation family break and although we were 10 in all we all had our privacy and the big kitchen/dining area was great for family dinners.
Great day trips without travelling too far.
We don't regret our choice.

We had a lovely stay in Oban. The property was clean and perfect for our large family group (a mixture a small children to 90 year old grandparents and everything in between). The cottage had lots of common rooms but plenty of privacy too if you need it.
The beach at the bottom of the garden was delightful andwe found lots of interesting things to do near by. Powerscourt and Avoca Mills were our favourite as were some of the Wicklow Way mountain walks.
We will be back!

We had a wonderful time in this beach side home! This house is a wonderful get-away location just a one-hour drive from Dublin. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in both, the very comfortable and homely house and its wonderfully big secure garden with direct beach access. We did not want to leave and will certainly be back for another holiday at 'Oban'. Thank you, Hilkka
