We absolutely loved our stay at Diane’s place. The bus stop is a two minute walk to the main road which gives you access to the whole valley. The accommodations were great, everything we could have ever wanted. I recommend this place!

Location at the edge of town was amazing! It was also just across the parking lot from the bus stop and so extremely convenient when relying on public transportation. Perfect!

Stunning view from the porch with comfortable outdoor furniture was the setting for our Happy Hour celebrations. The home is lovely, comfortable and well- appointed. Diane was always helpful and even warned us about a marathon in town that could have caused transportation or access issues. Close to all Berner Oberland sites. Perfect!

Diane's chalet was absolutely amazing, truely without any fault. We were a family group of 7 (4 adults and 3 children), there was plenty of space for all of us. Everything was spotlessly clean, beds and pillows were all comfy, plenty of storage space. There was nothing missing, kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed and much more. Plenty of cooking basics like oil, herbs, tea, coffee etc. Lauterbrunnen and the surrounding area is absolutely stunning, so much to see and do. Diane's chalet has uninterrupted views down the valley. The pictures on the listing are amazing but even better for real! The location is perfect, just a short scenic route into Lauterbrunnen where you can access railways and cable car, there is also a bus stop very close but we always chose to walk. Parking was easy and there was also a garage. We all had an amazing holiday and would love to stay in Diane's chalet again.

This is a spacious, modern, beautifully furnished, and impeccably clean 3BR apartment with tasteful decor and an absolutely breathtaking view down the Lauterbrunnen Valley! The kitchen was well-equipped and offered everything we needed to have leisurely breakfasts in the morning and cook the occasional dinner on evenings when were not dining out. The house rules/instruction booklet was excellent, giving us instructions on all important matters relating to our stay (WiFi, TV, laundry, hot water, trash disposal, etc.). We also greatly appreciated the organized file folder with brochures, maps, and trail guides for the surrounding area. The apartment is centrally located and a great base from which to explore surrounding towns and attractions, including Muerren, Gimmelwald, Allmenhubel, Wengen, Grindelwald, Grütschalp, Stechelberg, and the Thunersee. It's also close to the base station for the Schilthorn cable car. Our day trip to the Schilthorn was truly a highlight of our visit! The scenery on the way up to the summit and from the revolving Piz Gloria restaurant with 360 degree views on a sunny clear day were spectacular! Diane is a wonderful host who communicated with us before our arrival and answered any questions we had. We would highly recommend this rental for anyone looking for a base to explore the magnificent Lauterbrunnen Valley and the Berner Oberland. It was an unforgettable week for our family!

We loved our time in Lauterbrunnen! And we appreciated the quieter side of things as compared to some of the other nearby towns. This property is excellent and as described - the apartment was very clean and comfortable. Our teenagers enjoyed having their own rooms, everything was well-appointed, and the view out the kitchen/living room/deck is spectular. There is right-out-your door access to trails for hiking, running, and exploring. We arrived via train and found no need to have a car while there. The Imboden bike shop in downtown Lauterbrunnen was great for bike rentals. This apartment is just past a large campground, and we found the campground store and restaurant to be helpful resources when we didn't want to walk a little further to get to the coop and restaurants in town. The fresh baked rolls at the camp store became our go-to breakfast for the week. Communications with Diane were prompt and check in/out was easy. Overall, a great place to stay - we hope to return in summer again, or in winter for skiing. Thank you, Diane!

The property is just stunning on every level. Great location on the edge of Lauterbrunnen with the most spectacular views. It is around a 20 minute pleasant walk in to the Town or a short bus ride, with the bus stop 2 mins from the property. The property is very well equipped and a true home from home, beautiful comfortable furniture, the kitchen and breakfast bar is just great and the dining and balcony offer you so many different options to relax and dine. For the evenings we were at the apartment the TV had a great selection of international channels, for all to enjoy. Great for families to enjoy time together or couple of have a quiet retreat. Our host Diane was wonderful and easily contactable, giving great advice and guidance on the local area's and beyond. The Jungfrau Camp site is located about a 5 minute walk away, with a lovely friendly bar and shops. Very peaceful at night and offers true rest after a busy day walking in the mountains. A little gem we did find was Spa Day at the Hotel Eiger in Murren for 34CHF per person. So we had a day off walking and just watched the mountains and views from the pool. We had a fabulous stay and will hopefully visit again in the future.

This property was phenomenal with an exceptional view that was hard to leave. The location is great and makes getting to lots of tours and sites around the area very easy. Highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Switzerland and looking for a peaceful location with postcard-like views.

Diane is a fabulous host. The property is unbelievable and the property and the views are more beautiful in person. Great location and it is an easy walk to town to take the trains and cable cars to all nearby attractions.

Four friends stayed in Diane’s rental for four nights in April. We arrived late the first night and were all anxious for the sun to come up so we could finally see this view in person! Well, it is spectacular! The pictures do not do it justice! The apartment was very clean and well appointed. One of my favorite things was the supply of games and cards for those nights after you are finished sightseeing. The location is right off the schectelberg bus stop and easy access to the village, either walking or by bus. Communication with Diane, either by message or by phone, was prompt. I will recommend our sweet apartment everytime I have the opportunity, and hope to stay again one day!

Our experience at Chez Black was fabulous. We were a group of two couples and had more than adequate space for sleeping, preparing meals and relaxing. Perfectly located in the Lauterbrunnen Valley with exceptional views of the Alps. The pictures that, our host, Diane Black has on her listing do not do the view justice. I don't think any photograph can. We have stayed in a lot of VRBO and other rentals, and this ranks among the best for pure comfort and convenience. A fully stocked kitchen with more than adequate cookware, plates, glasses, flatware, spices and seasonings, aluminum foil, plastic bags, etc. I most especially appreciate the sharp knives for food prep (there were plenty along with a knife sharpener) and the (N)espresso machine. Diane provides a good supply of capsules, but if everyone drinks espresso, and you want only (N)espresso capsules, I suggest you bring some from home. (N)espresso compatible capsules are available at the grocery store in Lauterbrunnen and the various stores down the valley in Interlaken. Diane provides excellent instruction on finding and entering Chateau Black. If you lack a car, the rail and bus service to and in the valley are excellent and run with Swiss precision. The Schützenbach bus stop is literally a 2 minute walk from the front door. Diane also provides a complete instruction manual for the chateau along with suggestions for things to do. If the idea of board games interest your group, there are plenty. Children's games, books of all interests (most in English), to fill a cold night. Finally, Bose sound stations and a large flatscreen TV with a steaming service round out the in-house entertainment options. All that said, it is the physical beauty of the valley that attracts. And this is the best place to experience it. We will return again.

It would be very hard to beat this amazing rental in an amazing location in an amazing little corner of Switzerland. It's very comfortable, modern, has plenty of space and everything you need, but nothing compares to the spectacular uninterrupted view up the valley from the balcony. That's the no. 1 reason to stay here! Aside from that benefit, we really liked the location being on the fringes of the village, away from the crowds a little bit, but also right on the footpath that takes you there in a few minutes. We did have a query to the owner during our week (looking for another set of linens), and she was very quick and helpful in getting back to me.

This condo is great for two couples. The entire area is awesome and the view from the condo is very beautiful. The bus stop is very close however it’s an easy walk to town along the river. We have been to Lauterbrunnen 3 times and wouldn’t hesitate to book this condo again.

the location of the chalet is perfect with great, uninterrupted views into the valley up to the mountains at the end of this, including a number of waterfalls. The house is well-equipped with good quality kitchen apparel, well maintained bathrooms, and firm beds. It is an easy walking (or biking) distance into town and a perfect getaway place to stay for hiking and biking tours or swimming/kanooing around Wengen, Murs, Grindelwald, the Jungfraujoch, the lakes around Interlaken, etc., in fact, better located than any of these places, we believe (less touristy, easier to move around, etc). As we arrived with one person more than anticipated, we found the owner (on the phone) very helpful in providing us with some additional bedlinen; great service. Therefore, highly recommended!

We loved our stay at Chalet Black. It was perfect for the two of us, our two young children, and my mother. It was the last week of a three week trip and the well furnished, beautifully decorated, and fully equipped apartment made us feel right at home and fully relaxed! The balcony was wonderful and we spent a lot of time enjoying the amazing view. The bus stop around the corner and the walking path through the valley made getting around a breeze. The small store and great restaurant at Camp Jungfrau (try the Rosti) nearby met all our needs, including fresh morning pastries! We can't recommend a better base for exploring the Bernese Oberland. Our family thoroughly enjoyed the apartment, amenities, and location. It provided a comfortable space with all necessities for cooking. We walked to gondolas for hiking in Gimmelwald and Murren. Walking paths nearby took us to Lauterbrunnen. Local bus stop was close for catching train to Wengen. Waterfalls fell on either side. After rain, we had six waterfalls dropping from cliffs. We relished our view each morning with coffee and each evening with wine after a full day of hiking and exploring. Would love to return someday!

We stayed as a family to celebrate my father's 80th birthday. The apartment is perfectly appointed with no detail missed. It was so clean, that it felt like a new house. Diane went out of our way to ensure that dad had a special birthday, by organising his cake from the local bakery and Prosecco in readiness for our arrival. The setting is perfect for beautiful views of the valley. A truly beautiful apartment, and a fantastic host. Thank you.

The chalet apartment far exceeded our expectations . It was more spacious than pictures can depict and well-appointed, even down to our favorite item...a raclette maker! When we had guests and six persons were there, it did not feel crowded and all had privacy. Diane was very accommodating for our needs with linens, etc. Lauterbrunnen has to be one of the most beautiful villages on earth and we hope to return!

Rarely have we been in an apartment which is so well equipped. Everything you needed for a self catering holiday was provided even down to the toilet paper!! We have self catered for many many years and there is always something that isn't there, but Chalet Black had thought of everything. The apartment was also spotlessy clean with good quality appliances, equipment and furnishings. Communication with the owner was very smooth and pleasant. Finally the view. This apartment has the most beautiful uninterrupted view of the mountains which you can enjoy from the generous balcony. It is a short walk along the river to Lauterbrunnen and there are countless attractions to visit from the apartment. I would certainly recommend this property without hesitation.

This apartment is just wonderful. The rooms are all spacious. Kitchen is very well appointed. Lots of nice additions, such as a wonderful book collection, dvd's etc. And the views - simply the best view in all of Lauterbrunnen. There are numerous other apartments in chalets in this community, but none have the front row seat of the alps, that this apartment has! The view is simply stunning. The apartment is within walking distance of the town of Lauterbrunnen, which is great, so you don't have to drive and fuss with parking. Such a great base to see the whole region. Most importantly, Diane Black is a wonderful host who took such great care of us. Highly recommend this apartment for anyone considering staying in the area.
