some tiny adjustments in the housekeeping management, i guess some teammates were not trained properly. The room was super clean but as they are 2 teams coming in one day i guess its making some confusion on who is supposed to do what specific tasks

Very good location near historical attractions (church, fortress, old town, museums, lighthouse, etc.). Shops are within walking distance. Hotel territory, beautiful clean, view of Galle Fort and Clock Tower. Nice big pool for swimming, good beach chairs and umbrellas, gym, tiny beach. The room is spacious and has everything you need, sofa, large bed, cupboards, TV, bathtub, shower, balcony, view. A very good breakfast selection and if there is a Swedish table during dinner, there is also a very good meal selection. The fixed menu offered for dinner is long and also has enough options. If you don't like spicy food, you must say so. If necessary, you can take a breakfast package with you.

The bed was a bit hard for me. The air conditioner could have been quieter. The noise of the crows was disturbing. Everything else was very good and I recommend staying at this hotel.

A lovely hotel, Very close to Galle fort, perfect for exploring. The hotel is designed very well, the room was much more than we expected and perfect for 3 nights. The main pool is a nice size with Galle fort visible when swimming. Food was acceptable but nothing amazing.

The staff honestly just seem a bit lost, everywhere you go... especially the restaurant. During breakfast and dinner they all just kind of grouped together and looked like they didn't quite know what to do with themselves. They weren't at all rude, they just were a bit meh.

It was my third time staying there but I'll never come back. I understand the situation in the country is not great but the hotel definitely went downhill during the last year. The staff is trying their best and the location is beautiful.

The AC didn't work properly, so we had to go to reception twice at night and they said there is nothing they can do. Woke up with the plaster ceiling in the bathroom falling down all over my cosmetics. Attached a photo, so it doesn't sound like an exaggeration. At this point they upgraded us to the biggest apartment they had, but honestly that room wasn't cosy at all and the AC still didn't work, so we were so tired because we couldn't sleep. Love the property and the view but would only come back if they change the operator and do some major renovations!

There are a lot of pros for this hotel. Cannot find any cons really! - Great value for money. Rooms were clean and exactly like on the photos. - Great gym (LOL). We used it most days. - We stayed with 2 kids ( 6 and 9) and they put us in adjacent rooms (many hotels don't even bother to answer my request). Kids enjoyed their time even though it's not a 'family' hotel per se (it seems more for couples/adults looking to relax). - Kids enjoyed the pool, the lovely view to the Fort, the food (breakfast buffer was pretty good with tons of asian and western options). Staff mostly speak English and are so attentive. - GREAT location: almost next to a fun park with a great kids playground. Most importantly, minutes away from the Old Town, which a GEM in Galle. It has many old buildings from the period when the Dutch/Portuguese ruled Sri Lanka, and most of them are now restaurants, hotels, etc. We went thee a few times for lunch and dinner and had a lovely time. Prices are so cheap compared to other destinations. - From Galle it's easy to travel to Mirissa (Whale Watching), a number of turtle hatcheries, also Udawalala national park. It's a great base and good for first time visitors I think. - The staff were very attentive, and always looked after us very well. - I liked the hotel size : not too big, not too small. we prefer these types of hotels and this was lovely. In general, would highly recommend it.

I can't fault anything. I think the staff are all lovely, well trained and do their best to please guests, specially after all the hard years the country has had to endure.

Great location. Value for money. Amazing scenery. I would definitely consider staying here again. Food options were limited, but still a good variety and great taste.

Beds were rather hard for my liking. I requested housekeeping to assist with some padding to help soften the bed, which was duly offered.

This hotel was amazing!! It’s so beautiful and looks even better than the pictures. The staff are so friendly and the food is amazing. Every night the Buffet did not disappoint, everything tasted great and was a good variety. The views and sunset are perfect and Galle fort is close by with amazing buildings, restaurants and bars. We stayed in a pool suite and it was the best experience.

At our time of visiting, there were country wide power cuts unfortunately, not the fault of the hotel but they did well to still provide us with electricity and fans so it didn’t affect our stay.

What a relaxing, quiet and calming place to stay! I loved my 4 nights in Le Grand, especially the huge and super comfy bed as well as the excellent buffet at the weekend. Staff were accommodating and friendly and the pool/lawn area were great to just spend the day. Even the Fort is only short walking distance. No mosquitos either!!

My towels were changed every day, even if i hung them up or hid them :) It would be good (and more environmentally friendly) if the guests had the opportunity to decide if they want new towels.
