A propos de ce villarental
Stone villa with private pool and garden near the sea. Air con and free WiFi

Our group of two families aged from 20 to 60 years had a lovely time in this beautiful home in the heart of characterful Peratallada. It was so convenient for retaurants, bars, and little shops, being located right in the middle of the village. The house was large and comfortable. Beds were super comfortable, air conditioning in all bedrooms was very welcome and worked a treat. The kitchen was very well equipped and we ate many delicious home prepared meals in between our visits to several amazing local restaurants. We worried the pool would be a bit small for us, but it was a good size for us all to cool off after a hot day! We enjoyed a few city days via the easily accessed train station at Flaca and visited several different beaches- Platja Grau in Pals was a favourite for easy accessibility and relaxed vibe. Communication with owners and then agent was brilliant from start to finish. Thank you!

We loved the quirky and fun stone villa in Peratallada. The location was great! In the center of a village from the 13th century. The villa was updated and comfortable with a great pool in the backyard for a dip after a long hot day. The wonderful beaches were 15-30 minutes away but easy to drive to. The only issues were bugs to be sprayed around the house, and a loss of A/C in the master bedroom on the last two days of our trip. The communication with the rental agency was not always clear but they were very nice. The town had great restaurants but no market so be sure to buy food outside of town. Overall a great VRBO experience.

The communication from the owners was excellent from start to finish, we felt very welcome staying in their place…
…which is a complete one-off, a quirky medieval stone villa with all the modern appliances and facilities you could ask for, e.g. modern kitchen, excellent wifi, sky tv, loads of communal space, bbq and even a small pool.
We were six adults, staying to celebrate a significant birthday, and had the most memorable long weekend.
Thank you to Chris and Howard for letting us enjoy their Spanish haven.

We were a family of 6 and stayed for a week. The house is absolutely exquisite - beautiful medieval village, very spacious house, with a lovely pool and all the required amenities for a weeks stay. Parking is a 2 min walk from the house since cars don't travel in the village. Short drives (20-30 min) to many of the places we visited every day. Chris was helpful and responsive to all our questions. As others have written, the house is even better than the description and pictures, so really this is a highly recommended and wonderful place to stay.

Absolute wow factor throughout the property which is in the centre of Peratallada, a stones throw from the square with restaurants bars and shops.
The real gem is the pool which is an oasis on hot days. It was 40+ when we visited and it was a great way to cool down.
Communication with the host, Chris and the local agent couldn't have been better. Would highly recommend.

We had a brilliant stay in Peretallada. The house is very spacious and very well equipped. It is beautifully maintained and very comfortable. The aircon in the bedrooms was welcome in the evening. Peretallada is a great village with super restaurants. We know this area well as we have been coming for many years and it was lovely to find such a good rental property. We will certainly stay again.

The stone villa was a sight to behold and Peratallada was a beautiful quiet(while we were there 3/29-4/12/22) cobblestoned gem. Great, easy access to the seaside, other medieval towns, ancient Iberian ruins and all things Dali!

What a beautiful property in an amazing location.
Peratallada itself is a picture perfect medieval village in a stunning region of Catalonia, the incredible architectural details blend perfectly with the narrow stone streets to create a wonderfuly relaxed ambience.
The property is deceptively large with enough space for 2 families or a large group of friends. Each room has its own character, complemented superbly by the period furnishings that inhabit each floor.
The house contains all that you will need for any length of stay, with a well appointed kitchen and beautifully appointed bathrooms.
The outside space may not be huge, however, being in the center of a village it is a massive bonus and perfectly formed. The pool is a great size to cool down at the end of a day spent exploring the many lovely local towns or one of several great beaches within a 20 minute drive.
My family and I stayed for 2 weeks and found plenty to do with trips to Begur, Pals, Llafranc and Girona to name a few. A steep walk to Montgri castle is well worth it for the incredible views and with local markets only a few minutes away almost every day in nearby towns we were never bored. Eating out is a case of being spoilt for choice with several great restaurants in Peratallada itself and many others just a short drive away. Mas Pou in Palau-Sator was a particular favourite, just a 3 minute drive or 30 minute walk away.
Our hosts Chris and Howard were great from the moment we booked, keeping us informed at every stage which, due to the impact of Covid -19 was really important.
The welcome pack in the house was full of great information and suggestions for every occasion and we took advantage of the great range of books games and DVDs available for our use.
Thanks for a great stay, can't recommend it highly enough.

A great location for our relaxing family holiday pre our daughter's start at university. We were only 4 in our party but the house felt very cosy. It is full of character and all the equipment and comforts needed, + very refreshing pool and charming garden. Very close to lovely beaches and coves, but we found ourselves spending much of the time enjoying the delights of Peratallada. We would love to return one day.

We had a wonderful two weeks in Peratallada and loved the character and charm of this house. We had a group of seven and plenty of room for all of us. The layout of the house is unique and this lead to the charm, but the stairs can be a challenge so I would not recommend for elderly or small kids, otherwise its perfect. The town is small and limited but that again is the charm! After 6 pm, the streets are empty and it feels like your own little village. As for the house, its immaculate, nice selection of books and a well equipped kitchen. The bedrooms felt like little "sleeping caves" with nice A/C and black out shades. I can't think of anything we needed that wasn't available at the house. We can't wait to go back! Thanks again for a wonderful stay!

A real treat to stay in a house with so much character, embedded within a village steeped in such history. The house was far larger than expected, with so many creature comforts, making time in the kitchen a real delight. We split our mealtimes between the large dining table and at the table by the pool. We stayed as a couple, but would easily cater for two large families, especially easy given the two modern bathrooms. It was a real joy to amble through the cobbled streets and stumble on so many bars and restaurants – all made for a very relaxing trip. Peratallada makes a great base for getting to the coast too, with beautiful beaches and fantastic coastal walks. We can’t wait to head back to Peratallada!

Absolutely fantastic! We were having. A family reunion and this house was the ideal one located in a small village full of history, great places to eat or have a relaxing drink. Location for day trips was also great. Recommend some of the small market towns for visits and also the small bay towns on the coast for clear calm seas, snorkelling and generally relaxing on the beach. We visited also visited a family owned and run about 30 minutes drive away, magnificent setting and wonderful food

We enjoyed this most spectacular villa with pool. The pool was much larger than expected, very clean and enjoyable. The villa was much larger than we needed so it would be great fun to go with a larger group. The bathrooms and kitchen are modern, with every possible appliance and gadget one could need, and air conditioning units in each room were great because it was very hot while we were there. We are a tall family so had to duck through some doorways but most rooms had lovely high ceilings. We had some problem starting the hot water heater and called the agency who stated a plumber would be sent out to the villa. A plumber never arrived and by the next day we figured out how to get the hot water going so called the agency and cancelled. The villa opens right on to a street so early morning deliveries and night revelers were a bit loud at times though I would stay here again.

Our stay could not have been better in any way. Everything promised in the description and more was delivered. The house is clean and well appointed and its quirkyness makes it perfect for those that like a holiday home with a difference. The kitchen is super for self catering -
everything is provided and is good quality - the outside patio/BBQ area is great for lazy lunches and evening meals in the warmth of the Spanish evenings.
The location is perfect for all. Peratallada is a very interesting town with many restaurants to suit all tastes and all pockets. The coast is just minutes away and offers good swimming, walking and, of course seaside bars and restaurants serving the local catch of the day. we especially enjoyed L'Estartit as we found several excellent fish restaurants just by the Marina at the north of the town. Be sure to try t he fried anchovies and baby squid.
Although there is no parking adjacent to the property, the large car park in Peratallada is safe and only a couple of hundrred metres from the house. Loading and unloading the car at the entrance door is possible and relatively easy. There is virtually no traffic in the town itself so there is no traffic noise to disturb your siesta after a great lunch or swim in the lovely pool. There are several waymarked walking routes in the vacinity. The walks are easy and enjoyable through agricultural land with good opportunities for bird spotting and picking the wayside fruits (we even found some pommegranites that were lovely to accompany a salad).
We thoroughly recommend this property - there is honestly nothing that could have made our break better. We thank the lovely owners (Chris and Howard Fielding) for all their help and advice they gave before arrival and the useful notes that help holidaymakers like us to settle in quickly and safely and get on with the holiday.

Everything about the property was as we remembered, just as comfy and the pool area is sweet and there was not really anything more that could be done to make for a perfect holiday in this lovely village in one of favourite parts of Spain. The house is lovely and cool in the evenings which is also very pleasant. We had not been to the house for some time, but it really could not have been a more relaxing and mellow holiday.

This property was perfect for our family party of three generations. The house has all mod cons for comfort and convenience and is beautifully decorated with a tasteful mix of antique and contemporary furniture. There are so many interesting features in the property, the bedrooms are inviting and all the beds are comfortable. Peratallada is similarly beautiful and fascinating, you can walk the streets and see all sorts of interesting things. Plus, there are plenty of excellent restaurants to choose from so you don't have to travel to other resorts in the evening. We highly recommend this house for a unique holiday experience!

East Mids to Barcelona then just 2 hours easy motoring to pick up the keys - the girls took us to the door and made sure we were settled in.WOW! must try harder with my lottery numbers.Superb house just(better)as described.Mind the low doorway on the way to the bedrooms(Ouch!)Nice bedrooms - if a bit rustic - superb kitchen with lots of crockery etc - great seating areas and quaint little garden. For sure the Costa Brava I went to before was not this one, this area is more like Italy.Although the weather was changable we did wonderful costal walks, visited Gerona, hilltop villages and the stunning gardens at Cap Roig.
In May the village is very quiet and although it is not a problem to find a resturant during the week they are not very full(empty)
Other people have mentioned the lack of a little shop and next time we will be more organised and do a bigger shop on day one, but unfortunately bread will have to be got every day.
A welcome pack would be nice but -
All in all, 5 stars, and no doubt - we will be back!

I had high expectations for my stay at this beautiful property, and they were all exceeded. Five stars! The location of this house is just perfect. Looking out of the windows you would think you were in the transported back to the middle ages. No worries though....all the amenities of modern life are included. There were 6 of us during our stay and we never felt at all crowded. I would not hesitate to have 8......10 might be "cozy" though......just depends on "the chemistry". :)
Although you could spend the entire week relaxing in the garden and exploring the local area... it is nice to have a car and be able to go to the coast. We actually drove up to Carcassone, France as a day trip. (I highly recommend this.)
Chris and Howard were really great to work with. Renting a house overseas can be very stressful. Between Chris and her Agency in Begur, we were very well cared for throughout the entire process. They made it easy. Mariana, in particular was very helpful. We will definitely be back. I highly recommend this property.

We stayed in Peratallada for a week this September as a group of 6 people, which this house easily accommodated.
The village of Peratallada itself does not have a shop which is a bit inconvenient, e.g. re water and milk and essentials. So we would advise stocking up on the way, especially if arriving later in the evening. The property was quaint yet with all necessary modern amenities, and felt very homely. In this regard, the excellent collection of books in the house was a particular and welcome surprise. The pool is small but great for a cooling dip after the hot Catalan sun. Beaches and shops are within easy access but a car is 100% essential, something we were told in advance and is definitely the case. Some of the more quaint beaches and coves are off the beaten track and are well worth exploring - we did a beach and cove trail one day, and found it fun and diverse!. Snorkelling in l'Estartit was another highlight for some of our group. We had a very varied week overall, with Roman ruins, beaches, country walks, ancient villages and museums all within easy reach, making for a very varied holiday - which is great with a diverse group of people. The restaurants in the village are lovely; the bar/pub scene is however quiet with only one restaurant also serving as a pub - in the lovely village square. Possibly our nicest day trip was a drive to Cadaques, which is via a tortuous mountain road not for the faint hearted but very rewarding! In fact, I would strongly advise using a map with contours, as these are not included on many local tourist maps, and you can end up on a challenging road if you are not careful - we did one late eveing! Overall, we would heartily recommend this house given its lovely setting, furnishings, fittings and overall charm. Lots of steps over 3 floors for older or less mobile people would be the only point that could be difficult for some - this was not a problem for us however. A great holiday and many great memories!

Peretadella is one of the small walled towns in the region and beautifully preserved and peaceful with no traffic allowed. The house is on a cobbled street by an ancient arch and is itself very old with 3 foot thick walls. It has been beautifully renovated, has a cook's kitchen, lovely bathrooms, comfortable beds, plenty of living space, satellite TV for watching the Olympics currently on and lots of nooks and crannies for hide and seek. And the pool in the garden is a joy and wonderful for the kids to play in whilst adults relax by the barbecue.
The region has many beaches (crowded in August - typical for Spain) and wonderful inland country for walking, cycling, driving. We particularly enjoyed the 2 homes we went to which Dali had lived in at Cadaques and Pubol.
Peretadella has more restaurants than we have every seen per acre that attract Spanish locals and tourists so there is always a lively bustle on the streets in the evenings. It also has a couple of good icecream shops and an outside bar in which to while away the evening.
Chris was prompt and entirely helpful via email. I would recommend the house very highly; it would suit both a group with adults and children and a group with only adults. And there is a 5th and comfortable sofa bed to be had in the downstairs TV room.

The house and village was much better than already nice descriptions in the other reviews. The new and the old of the house suits perfectly .
We were a large family with 6 adult and 4 grown up children (21-28) and the house did not seemed packed at all with all of us inside. The garden with the pool was a nice retreat after tours to the markets and the beaches.
The village was very beautiful , nearly like a " Disneylike" village, with so many reastaurants. We liked til El Pati very much , sitting there under the trees in the evening was really something.
We had tours to all the nearby beaches- Sa Tuna very nice, but the younger ones liked Caella and Tamariu the best.
We had great walks around in the area- the man at the Tourist information was very helpful and eager to help and he provided us with walking maps for the area- it now lie on the bookshelves .
The best walk for us was on a sunday going through Palau Sator to Fontclara and ending up at a very nice restaurant for lunch at Can Dolc( a very nice resstaurant outside and inside with good and not expensive food ,be aware of the huge entradas) in St. Julia de Boada before going home (45 minutes fra the restaurant).
We surely like to come back another year.

This 400 year old home has been updated with modern conveniences while keeping true to the original style of the home. This is situated in the charming town of Peratallada (near Begur) with all of its amazing restaurants and charming shops. We were happy with how well equipped everything was and the attention to detail. There were games and DVD's and books to enjoy. The rooms were all comfortable with lots of pillows and blankets. The downstairs utility room had a convenient dishwasher and 2nd refrigerator. I was also pleased with the permanent gates that were placed at the top of the (2) main staircases. This gave me the added piece of mind that my kids would not fall down them. The pool is a perfect size for the kids to cool off on a hot day- well maintained and clean. Finally Costa Brava is filled with many charming towns and beaches, there was not enough time to see it all....we will definitely come again!

A lovely house in an absolutely charming little town full of history and fabulous restaurants (don't miss El Pati across from the house - great food and gardens). The house is extremely well equipped whilst retaining all the charming features of these old properties. Our kids loved the pool which although not big, was great for a cooling splash and it was great to relax outside over lunch or with a book. This is an ideal location for exploring the many local sights, from the Dali museum at Figueres to the wonderful coves of Sa Tuna, Tamariu, Sa Marti and so on. We could easily have stayed another week and done something different every day. Recommend the house although the stone steps to the top floor are quite uneven so elderly people or tots need to be careful. All part of its ancient charm though!
5.0 / 10.0
The location of the property is ideal - in the heart of an ancient small town you can stroll out to the wide range of local restaurants and enjoy the atmosphere of the old streets and buildings without recourse to the car. The town itself is busy with visitors coming to see the sights and it feels very special to be able to stay in one of the old houses.
The house itself it a great combination of ancient and modern - stone walls, traditional furniture, good beds, well equipped kitchen and bathrooms, wifi, satellite tv and a pool. It is spacious, comfortable, well maintained and charming.
You will need a car to enjoy the wider area. There is a range of different beach resorts within a fairly short drive - small coves, old fishing villages and bigger places with watersports, boat trips and waterparks. You will also need to drive to reach a supermarket.
The countryside around the town is attractive and there are lots of good, well signposted walking paths and cycle tracks. The Pyrenees and Barcelona city are also within reach of longer day trips.
The owner, Chris, has been very helpful easy to deal with - responding quickly to enquiries and providing plenty of information.
Three generations of the family with ages ranging from 15 to 81 all had a wonderful holiday. We certainly hope to go back some day.
