À propos de cette location de vacances
19C charming & large house, sea views, beach at 150m, private garden

In general we were comfortable at the house. There were some plumbing issues as well as a gas smell during our stay but the owner did help us take care of things quickly. The bedrooms were all comfortable but the bureaus for putting clothes away in most of the rooms was challenging and having 2 full bathrooms for 12 people was perhaps a little conservative. We had agood stay overall and would return but most likely with fewer people as 12 is too much for the house for all to be comfortable. Thank you.

Our family had a great time in this spacious, lovely home. Great location across from the beach. We really enjoyed the large kitchen, and homey furnishings. There was plenty of room for the ten of us to spread out. Petronella was delightful and very helpful getting us situated and checking us out. The weather was unusually cold, so we had to bundle up with blankets at night and get the space heaters going but we really enjoyed staying at this house.

Our family of 9 had plenty of room, and the yard was great for the kids to play. The proximity of the beach was wonderful, we spent much time going for walks and runs. A very sweet woman greeted us, and showed us around the house, using body language, as she spoke no English, as most of the people around here do not speak English. The house was not stocked with many supplies, but a short walk to the grocery store solved that problem! When we ran out of gas in the stove, and when the bathroom on the 3rd floor was leaking into one of the bedrooms, Anne was extremely quick to respond. We didn't find the folder with restaurant and attraction information until halfway through our visit, but I'm glad we finally found it as all the restaurants that she recommended, we had not yet tried. We LOVED the Piemonte restaurant, the owner was lovely, he and his waiter were very kind to our children and the food was outstanding. The little trattoria in town was good (but not very friendly) and the little restaurant that was caddy-corner to the house near the beach we dubbed "our restaurant", as it was so close and the staff there were very welcoming. The restaurant "Ewan" has a gorgeous location and atmosphere, but it is terrible food and is very expensive. We visited the mine, right in town, what a treasure. Also close by (within 15 minutes) is a small but mind-blowing cave, no drawings but the formations were beautiful, you wind your way through stalactites and stalagmites. Also we visited Taramundi, bought some souvenir knives, and also went to Conjunto Etnografico de Teixois, what a treasure! We were so fortunate to have someone speaking English to us there. We also visited the Caves of Altamira museum, the neocave was incredible. In Gijon, we visited Santa Catalina Headland (Cerro de Santa Catalina) and Laboral Ciudad de la Cultura, and we LOVED the restaurant Sidreria Parrilla La Costa. We also traveled to the more touristy town of Santillana del Mar, we loved walking around the shops and the sights.

Our family of six spent a wonderful week at Villa Teodora. My husband and I were celebrating our 40th anniversary and had never been to Spain. Asturias is where my husbands family is from and no one has returned for 100 years, so we spent the week driving all within an hour from Salinas to see all the family history. The villa was centrally located to all our destinations and was always a pleasure for us to come "home" each day and relax in this beautiful and most comfortable home. It's been well taken care of for being 200 years old. We were greeted upon our arrival by Petra and given the grand tour warmly by her. She even came back a little later with a fresh fish she had caught and we enjoyed that for dinner one night.
The house says 2 bathrooms, but we found 4 with 3 showers, so no one had to wait for their turn! The kitchen was well equipped and large. The beds were very comfortable and the linens were plentiful and freshly washed. We had music all week from the grand piano in the living room and all of us took turns playing it...some better than others! Our grown children kept thanking me for finding this wonderful location for our dream trip. We all highly recommend it and hope to visit again in the future. Thank you Anne for allowing us to enjoy your beautiful home.

This is a big family villa about 10 miles from Aviles airport and a couple of minutes walk from the lovely beach of Salinas which was ideal for our large family party of 8 adults and 2 small children who were all meeting up for a holiday.
The bedrooms were big, spacious and airy, as were the two bathrooms which always had plenty of hot water. We were unable to use the shower on the top floor as it was not working during our stay.
The kitchen was well equipped and the whole villa was so large we never felt crowded.
The terrace at the back of the house was fabulous, we spent a lot of time there eating, drinking and relaxing. A car is not essential as there are a couple of small supermarkets nearby, but be aware they are not open all the time like the UK and none are open on a Sunday.
There are various restaurants to eat out at, some were excellent, a couple of others not so good. As our son had hired a car from Madrid airport we were able to go to the large supermarkets which had much more choice and were very well stocked, a car also enabled a few of us to visit Gijon and Aviles which we enjoyed.
We loved the coffee and cake shop just around the corner, gorgeous cakes and puddings and great fresh coffee!
We had lovely weather so spent quite a lot of time on the beach, lots of people but never ever crowded, it is so large. This is a very spanish resort, we didn't meet any other tourists and absolutely nobody spoke any English so take a phrase book if you can't speak any Spanish!
The garden was nice and private although not secure for small children as the side of the property was open to the front and the road. We did manage to block it but do think it would be good if it had a gate across.
We had a great time here which was enjoyed by us all and would love in the future to visit again, many thanks Anne for renting us your lovely family villa.

I spent a wonderful week with family and friends at Villa Teodora in June 2012. The villa is grand and spacious, a magnificent family home. The kitchen is fully equipped, the rooms beautifully furnished and the terrace fabulous for a long lunch or for enjoying a wine or sangria with tapas in the afternoon. We wanted for nothing.
We found Salinas a very central location for exploring the Province of Asturias and our day trips included visits to Tarramundi, Gijon, Oviedo and Aviles as well as the lovely seaside villages of Cudillero, Luarco and Puerto de Vega.
The beach at Salinas is very pleasant and we enjoyed long walks along the promenade or beachfront although we found the water rather chilly.
There are a number of cafes, restaurants and bars close by if you are not inclined to cook. We joined the locals to watch the World Cup at Los Tres Monos bar and enjoyed delicious tortilla. We dined at Real Balneario which has spectacular views over the ocean and amazing food (a holiday indulgence for us). Sadly we found the service erratic at Ewan Food, a shame as the venue is impressive.
We would like to thank the owner for sharing Villa Teodora, and making our stay in Salinas & our holiday in Spain so enjoyable. We would love to return one day soon.

Very nice Villa with big bedrooms and reception-sized living room, Very nice and helpful people for cheking-in, well placed.

This was the perfect location for a 'recovery' holiday in July with our children (5 and 6 yo) and their grandparents. We were sorry that our other friends hadn't been able to come, but it was so peaceful...
The benefits started with the 15-minute taxi ride from Asturias airport. We were warmly welcomed and shown the way to all the relevant shops, even accompanied to the supermarket. Then we found that the villa is truly at the heart of this seaside resort, next to the shops and a hop from the beach, and that there were essentially no foreign tourists.
We spent mornings on the beach, when it was quiet even at the more populous end, and came home for a long lunch on the veranda, shaded by the billowing curtains. Afterwards, we relaxed while the children played in the garden (swing and rope ladder, fountain, etc.). In the afternoon, the beach was transformed as the local kids arrived after school to play in the waves, pose, natter, etc: endless entertainment for our children. There was enough to do for a week, exploring the dunes at the far end of the beach, the unusual anchor museum, etc. Salinas is a small, beach town with a great beach and the other required facilities - ice cream stands on the way to the beach, cafes for afternoon drinks on the way back, many bars and restaurants. It is not highly developed for tourism - a swimming+tennis club, a surfing school, but little else. We were never tempted to rent a car as the weather was fine throughout, but on a wetter week we could have done so easily.
The villa is well set up for a large party, with a fully-equipped back kitchen, a large dining table in the living room (between the grand piano and the sofas round the fireplace). The TV room upstairs, the living room downstairs and the large veranda allow different groups to chat. The bedrooms are large to grand, there are plenty of bathrooms, TVs etc. The villa is very definitely a home, large but welcoming, and well lived-in. For example, there was a small and idiosyncratic collection of CDs left for the guests to discover on the hifi downstairs.
We will very likely come back to the villa for holidays with friends or family and their children. It was our second visit to the general area, which has much to offer. Most striking single memory is probably the youth of Salinas surfing down the pavement in the torrent from a fire hydrant, on the night Spain won the world cup.
