Bracciano
We enjoyed our five days in Bracciano. The apartment was well equipped and has a nice view over the town. There are plenty of cafés and restaurants close by.
Highly recommended.

A wonderful stay
Linda was an incredible host and this location is fantastic for any stay in Bracciano.
The apartment is easily accessible from the train station and is nestled just below the iconic castle of the town. Restaurants, shops (including grocery stores), and churches are right outside your door and the lake is not too far of a walk.
The apartment itself is very clean and comfortable with adequate space for our party of three.
This stay is an easy recommendation.

Amazing apartment in Bracciano
We stayed in this beautiful apartment, and it was large enough for a family of 6. The location could not be more central, it is right near the historic castle. The walk to the lake is about 20 minutes downhill. The host was very responsive and helpful.

We decided to stay in "Casa la Castellana" because of all the previous reviews and our expectations were exceeded.
Linda helped us to get a taxi from FCO to Bracciano and gave us a warm welcome and lots of information about the area when we arrived at the apartment.
The location of the apartment is perfect and the apartment is just as charming as you can see in the photos (trust all previous positive reviews).
Communication with Linda before, during and after our stay was always very easy, fast and pleasant.
There are a few things I wanted mention/update because of previous reviews:
- the wireless Internet was completely reliable even for 4 people incl. 2 teenagers being online at the same time
- the AC was adequate and sufficient during one of the hottest summers in European history
- the beds in the bedrooms were comfortable (we didn't use the pull out function of the sofas)
We will definitely recommend the place to friends and family and hopefully come back ourselves.
Thank you, Linda!

Great position in the historic centre
We had a great week and a half in Bracciano and the apartment was so convenient and comfortable. Linda was great to communicate with and was very fast to fix a small issue we had.
Bracciano is a lovely town with a programme of events during the summer including opera held in the castle (which is stunning!) There are plenty of lakeside activities and also plenty of interesting towns within a short driving distance. Access to Rome via train is also straightforward. The food is excellent and so are the gelati!

Bracciano and our place felt like home
Linda was a fabulous host. She gave us plenty of information on places to check out. The accommodation was perfect for us and in a great location in the historical area with a castle just down the street! Rome was an hour train ride that connects you to the city transit. Mr delMonico, the driver Linda recommended, was our airport transit and offers day trips outside of Bracciano. He is a wealth of knowledge and it’s great to hear stories from a local. I would recommend this place if you’re wanting a relaxing, beautiful vacation close to Rome.

Fantastic Property!
We had an absolutely lovely stay in this place, which exceeded our expectations in every way.
We rented this property as we were visiting family over the holidays with our family of four. Our hope was that it would provide a nice place to sleep, and maybe take advantage of its position in he old quarter of Bracciano a bit. It turned out to be the centerpiece of the holidays, to the extent that Santa came down the fireplace and left stockings for the six boys here, to their great delight!
The pictures and description do not really do justice to this apartment. It is larger than it looks, especially by the standards of the medieval quarter and Italian apartments in general. The two bedrooms are set off from the great room by a hallway and separate door, and are quite quiet. The great room, framed by the fireplace, comfortably accommodated 11 of us for the Christmas morning festivities, and was quite spacious when there were just the four of us. There is a surprising amount of natural light as well.
The main bathroom is also quite large and well-appointed, and the half-bath a welcome addition. It is truly fully furnished (kitchen, linens, towels, wifi, U.S. plug adapters, etc etc) and we never once in the week felt like there was something missing.
Most importantly, Linda was professional, thoughtful, and charming. Prompt in her email correspondence from initial inquiry through the end of stay, timely in her handling of our one issue (an empty cooking gas cylinder), and already at the apartment for turn over an hour before I thought I could there from the airport, she is what VRBO owners should aspire to be. Thank you again, Linda, for hosting us.
We have rented VRBO properties for many years, and most have them have been just about what the listings advertise. This was a wonderful surprise, under-promising and over-delivering.

Perfect home base, perfect town
This was an absolutely perfect home for our family of five during our recent trip to Italy. The apartment is comfortable, homey and beautifully decorated. It was well equipped with kitchen basics (including an espresso machine!), laundry, beach towels and picnic gear. The location was perfect - literally steps from the heart of Bracciano, on an impossibly charming, fairy tale street.
Linda, the owner, was very helpful before our trip, offering a detailed list of things to do and restaurants in the area. She met us at the apartment when we arrived and helped us get settled immediately. When a very minor maintenance issue arose during our stay, she arranged to have it addressed within hours. She was a delight to work with throughout the process.
Bracciano itself is a great little town and a fantastic base for exploring the region around Rome. The city itself is a short drive or train ride away; the lake towns and hill towns nearby are charming and offer wonderful restaurants. We also enjoyed the nearby beaches and less touristy sites, such as the Etruscan ruins at Cerveteri.
We'll recommend this home to our friends, and hope to return ourselves someday.

Fantastic Location, Charming Apartment
Our family of 4 (kids of 15 and 13) spent a wonderful month in Bracciano. There really are no surprises with the apartment as the photos and description are spot on. Getting to know the town quite well in the month we were there, I would say the location of this apartment is probably the best in the historic district. It is on a lovely piazza that doesn't get busy or loud in the evenings (like many other locations in town), and we never tired of seeing the castle as we strolled up towards the apartment.
The apartment had some very nice furnishings and antiques that were very much appreciated. The kitchen was functional, and we used it quite a bit for cooking wonderful meals from items purchased from the local markets.
There are 2 air conditioning units....1 in the main sitting area, that certainly kept it cool, and 1 in one of the bedrooms. These units put a strain on the power, as we lost power several times. A quick flip of the fuses and we were back in business. We figured out what electrical units could or couldn't run at the same time....I guess it added to the charm of staying in a 14th century apartment.
WiFi was reliable and helped keep up with work at home and allowed kids to play some games for down time after a day of exploring.
As mentioned above, some of the furnishings were beautiful and much appreciated, however, some were not. The beds were thin and hard and the pull out sofas were old, dated, stained and uncomfortable to sleep on. Not to worry, as there were so many positives with the apartment and the town itself, that we hardly gave the beds and the sofa beds a second thought, but thought it was worth mentioning.
The owner, Linda, met us at check in and was very accommodating and helped us get situated and learn some of the quirks of the apartment, appliances, recycling, etc...
We were more than pleased with the apartment and the town of Bracciano. Both helped provide our family with memories of a lifetime.

Perfect Apartment
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely apartment! Linda, the owner, was very helpful. She arranged our arrival and departure connection from the airport and greeted us upon our arrival in Bracciano.
The apartment was beautiful, very clean and in a perfect location. The photos don't do it justice! The kitchen is small but adequate (who wants to cook on vacation!). Bracciano is such a charming and friendly town with good restaurants. The train station is only a 10 minute walk with easy access to Rome. We highly recommend this apartment.

Unique quirky ancient apartment with good access to town and beautiful lake
The attractive property is at the top of a steep hill with free parking a few hundred metres away.
It is advertised with internet and air conditioning, true, but the internet was SIM based and rarely reliable. The air conditioning was one mobile unit of 5 kilowatts, barely adequate for the airspace to be cooled, but the fans and windows helped a lot.
The kitchen is hot and tiny and although equipped, could not easily cope with preparing a family meal for 6-8 persons.
The apartment is clean, comfortable and charming. Probably similar in age to the castle which it is opposite.
The owner is easily contacted by mobile phone, but the intermittent internet access was never resolved during our stay.
The position is central to town with easy access to shops and a little noisy. Bells ring on the hour and quarter hours all through the day and night. Night life is fun. On a warm summer evening people socialise throughout the town until 2.00 am. The surrounding area and the lake are charming with perfect opportunities for sunbathing and swimming within walking distance, up a hill.
Despite a few disappointments, I greatly enjoyed my holiday in this spacious apartment.

Bracciano, our home away from home.
It is said you can never go back. For ten days at the beginning of October 2014 my husband, son and I did just that. We returned to 'our' beloved apartment in the historic section of Bracciano and experienced coming home in every way. Having spent 8 months here in '79-'80 and after I wrote about our adventures in a book, 'Letters from Italy', we were drawn back. The Lago, our friends and the people of this bustling town, the castle and the countryside were once again ours to enjoy from our windows and by stepping out our door. Bracciano is a special place and we relished every minute, in the numerous restaurants, bars, the daily Passegiata, the easy trips into Rome and the other lakeside villages. Coming back to número 18 Via della Collegiata every evening was the icing on our 10-day cake!

Wundervoll echtes Italien
Thanks a lot, Linda!

Apartment was exactly as listed.
We really enjoyed our stay at this apartment. Ideal location and 10 minutes walk from the train station. Easy access to Rome by train, one hour max. Apartment owner, Linda, was very helpful, friendly and could not have done any more to make sure was stay was enjoyable. The lake was about 20 minutes walk, be prepared for the hills on the walk back to the town. Lake very clean, ferry available to both surrounding villages on the lake. Overall, really enjoyed both the apartment and rural Italy, would recommend.

Wonderful!
We enjoyed every minute in Bracciano at Linda's house. My husband, 11 year old son, and two nieces had plenty of space for sleeping, and hanging out. The flat has gorgeous views of Bracciano from the bedroom windows, and it is a stone throw away from the beautiful castle. I highly recommend this apartment!!

Beautiful base for Rome
We were really lucky to stay in this beautiful apartment for a week over Easter. Kids (14 and 12) chose to explore Rome 4/5 days which was a stress-free train ride (and an enjoyable book read) away. Bracciano made a city break much more relaxing and enabled us to experience real italian life. The annual Passion played out in the Town on Good Friday - complete with Roman soldiers on horseback and crucifixion on the castle walls - was an experience not to be missed!

Amazing Apartment
My family and I are just back from an amazing stay at this stunning apartment, situated in a beautiful area of Italy. It is a lovely town with a beautiful castle (right by the apartment), lake and plenty great places to eat. We especially enjoyed the Hug bistro which is right beside the apartment. We traveled into Rome on the train which took about an hour. We feel we got the best of both worlds by staying here and going into Rome when we wanted. Linda the owner was very friendly and understanding when we arrived late at night to the apartment. My kids really enjoyed going to lake which you can walk to but it is a steep hill back up. We also enjoyed a tour of the castle. I would definitely recommend this rental to everyone and would like to say thanks to Linda. We loved our trip to Italy.

Charming & Traditional Apartment
We were fortunate enough to stay in this lovely, spacious apartment for 5 nights. It is perfectly positioned up a charming cobbled street and really feels like you're within the castle grounds. Linda was exceptionally welcoming and helpful with her local knowledge.
The lovely, charming town of Bracciano boasts some great eateries and coffee bars where you can sit and lap up the wonderful Italian culture. And of course the Italians are THE most friendly and welcoming of all Europeans!
The lakeside is just idyllic. Incredibly peaceful with crystal clear waters to swim. Stunning. You will not regret staying in this lovely town.

Character, charm, location
We stayed in Bracciano for a long weekend and the apartment was perfect. Really clean, huge living space, great views from the bedrooms across the town. Very cool inside even thought it was 37 outside - thick stone walls. Location is awesome - practically in the castle walls so you feel like a film star.
Great little cafe called Hug 2 doors up - made friends with the owner. Ideal for a beer/glass of wine for me whilst waiting for the other half to make herself (more!) beautiful.
Went to Rome for the day - 6 euros each return on the train, about an hour to St Peter's station direct.
Bracciano has so much character, lots of gorgeous little cafes and restaurants - cafe gran italia on the main street has the best coffee in he world. Lake is beautiful and everything really reasonable price wise. Best of all, you feel like you're in a real town not a tourist trap.
Had a fantastic time, loved the town, loved the apartment, will definitely be back.
Only down side is that you can't park outside the apartment (medieval area needs a special pass) but there's free parking 5 mins walk away and you can keep an eye on your car from the bedroom window.

Bracciano
Very nice apartment, right in the historic centre, really well located.. Very clean and quiet (apart from the church bells at night but this is Italy!!). The kitchen was basic really, but functional.
The little steps by the front door, on the street, were great in the evening to enjoy a glass of wine with a lovely breeze.
We had a wonderful stay, the lake was great, and the children loved it.
The food was fantastic. Our favourite restaurant was Un' Altra Bottiglia. They really looked after us and the children. Fantastic food (too much to be exact!), really nice wine, they even gave us a box of their fantastic biscotti (or Cantuccini if you like). What a treat!
We went to visit Rome by train, which was also easy and practical. We also went to the seaside and toured a little bit by car.
To be honest, it was so hot that the best you could do was relax on a sunbed.
The only thing I could have wished for was mosquito nests on the windows.
