The house is spacious, comfortable and clean. The kitchen is very well equipped and the beds in the bedrooms are comfortable. Catarina is really attentive and helpful, with lots of tips for exploring the island. The location of the house allows you to visit many things quickly. We really enjoyed our stay here.

We had a very nice stay.

We stayed at Catarina's from May 24th until May 31st, and we could not have had a better time. It was just my wife and I, but the apartment could easily and comfortably accommodate 6 adults. The neighborhood is quiet. There is a little supermarket only a few blocks away (we had a car, which I suggest just for getting around the island and seeing the sights). The kitchen is not large, but it works very well (I cooked dinner two nights of our stay). The place is kept very clean. There is a washer and clothesline for your clothes. There is also a lovely back patio with a wonderful view of the town and surrounding countryside. The location was perfect, allowing us to get into Punto Delgada in a matter of minutes but without staying in the city center, where parking can be an issue. The apartment also has an excellent location for getting to sights on either side of the island.
I should also say that our host, Catarina, and her husband were just lovely. There is a lockbox with the apartment key, which allowed us to check in at our convenience (and Catarina let us check in earlier than planned, which was very generous and helpful). She then came over to meet us and give us tips on restaurants and sights to see. She was very friendly and very respectful of our space and time. Perhaps most importantly, she and her husband were just a phone call away to handle any issue that arose. We really hope to stay at her property again. Five stars!!!

We were so pleased with this property. So easy to access all areas of the island. Super markets were very close.

What a lovely place!! We had the best time here. Excellent location in a quiet part of town. Absolutely beautiful island! The weather can be a bit dodgy so make sure to bring an umbrella with you just in case. We were lucky that it only rained once! Will def come back! Catarina was wonderful gave us many suggestions of things to do and was very easy to get ahold of when we had questions. Thanks so much for letting us stay in your lovely home!

Enjoyed our Stay
My son and I stayed for three weeks to visit nearby family and the location was perfect for us. Our host, Caterina, was very accomodating and friendly. The house was very comfortable and just as advertised. We would definitely stay again.

Séjour à Pico
Très bon séjour avec un très bon accueil. Catarina est très réactive, disponible et sympathique. Seul petit bémol, les chiens du quartier qui aboient.

Location et propriétaire exemplaire
La location était tout à fait conforme à nos attente, propre et bien équipée. Nous n'avons manqué de rien.
Le petit must, c'est l'accueil chaleureux de Catarina, à notre arrivée et qui prenait de temps en temps de nos nouvelles durant le séjour pour s'assurer que tout allait bien et que nous ne manquions de rien.

Casa bonita, muito limpa, muito cuidada.
A simpatia a disponibilidade da D. Catarina antes, durante e depois da estadia não têm preço, muito obrigada por tudo.
Teve amabilidade de nos providenciar toalhas para os banhos quentes/praia o que nos facilitou em muito pois sempre foi menos peso na bagagem :)
Disponibilizou também umas excelentes dicas do que poderíamos ver, sítios recomendados para as refeições.
Ao longo dos dias que lá estivemos houve sempre um cuidado para connosco no sentido de perceber se nos faria falta alguma coisa, e se estava tudo bem.
O motivo que me levou a escolher esta casa, foi precisamente as boas recomendações que li, e vão todas de encontro ao que encontramos :)

Highly recommend!
Beautifully remodelled stone home, close to all amenities in the village. Excellent home base to travel to all areas of the island! Catarina was an absolute pleasure to deal with, very accommodating and thoughtful - she left special towels for our trip to the hot springs, and sent a program for the village festivities happening during our stay. Lots of space in this unassuming home, and a perfect quaint backyard! House of Cedars exceeded our expectations!

Wonderful time at Sao Miguel!
The house was as we expected it! Th communication with Catarina was perfect! She was always asking, if we need something and gave us great tip in the beginning of our vacation! The island is very beautiful! All in together, it was a really good vacation!

Nice place
We have spend 11 days here. It is a Nice place with pretty much everything you need. Its very well located if you want to explore the island. Catarina is very kind and helpfull. She gave us some very usefull advice wich just topped our stay here. Certainly recomendable.

Pleasant stay
Ease of booking and contact with host was great. So pleased the 5 of us could spread out and have a lovely outdoor space as well. I would recommend to anyone. Love the way the outdoors was brought to the interior with the rock steps from the living to dining area.

Die Beschreibung des Objekts hat zu 100% gestimmt.
Wir wurden super herzlich empfangen; bereits der Kontakt vorab war wirklich perfekt und auch während unseres Aufenthalts konnten wir uns jederzeit an unsere Vermieterin wenden.
Das Haus war großzügig mit drei Schlafzimmern, toller Sitzgelegenheit, einer gut sortierten Küche inkl Waschmaschine und bei tollem Wetter kann man sogar im Garten auf der Terasse verweilen.
Wir würden es jederzeit weiterempfehlen.

Great house, great location and fantastic landlady
Lovely clean house with all the amenities and so easily accessible from any part of the island.. The landlady was so accomodating, friendly and helpful. Gave us many tips for our vacation.
This lady is so generous too. Please check with her about leaving unused fresh foods behind. This lovely lady helps the needy in her community ! She is 5-star in our eyes!!!

Sehr schönes Ferienhaus mit Terasse
Wir haben uns sofort zu Hause gefühlt . Die Vermieterin hat uns trotz Flugverspätung spätabends im Haus empfangen , uns alles gezeigt und noch wertvolle Tipps für die Sehenswürdigkeiten auf Sao Miguel gegeben.Ebenso standen wir über WhatsApp im Kontakt , und konnten uns so auch einen Tisch in einem Lokal in Furnas reservieren lassen.
Das Haus war sauber , gut ausgestattet , großzügiger Aussenbereich , gutes WLan.
Supermarkt ist 5min entfernt , Ponta Delgada ,Ribeira Grande und der schöne Strand in St.Barbara gute 10 min.

A recommended House
The house was very neat. Everything we needed was there. The internet connection was perfect. The reception and contact with the owner Catarina went very smoothly.
The only negative point for us was the constant barking of dogs from the neighborhood during the day and night.

Wir waren als Familie (2 Erwachsene & 1 Kind) eine Woche in diesem wunderschönen Ferienhaus. Die Kommunikation mit Catarina war im Vorfeld bereits sehr angenehm und gut. Sie hat uns eine Wegbeschreibung gemailt und wir haben es sofort gefunden. Catarina wartete bereits am Haus, zeigte es uns und erzählte uns einiges zur Insel. Sie stand die ganze Woche per Mail oder Whatsapp für Fragen zur Verfügung. Das Haus ist sehr gut ausgestattet & modern, ein kleiner Garten mit Grill und für den Sommer mit Sitzmöglichkeiten, sehr gute Betten und vor allem sehr sauber. Handtücher waren genug vorhanden.
Wir können das Haus bedingungslos empfehlen und haben dort einen wunderschönen Urlaub verbracht. Die Lage des Hauses ist perfekt, da man in zügiger Zeit an allen Stellen der Insel ist.

Great little house in a good location to see the west of the island.
We had good communication with Catarina and she was friendly and helpful upon welcoming us to the property. The house was perfect for our four night stay with everything we needed. We particularly liked the outdoor area with barbecue at the rear of the property. It is a traditional village house which has been refurbished in a sympathetic style. There is a supermarket before you enter the road to the village which sells everything you might need. We explored the west of the island from the house seeing Sete Cidades which is amazing and we kayaked on the lagoon. It is possible to tour the whole island from here. Sao Miguel is stunningly beautiful and surpassed our expectations as we love the countryside and walking.

House Of Cedars
House of Cedars is a very large, modern rental space in the small country village of Pico da Pedra. It is well maintained, clean, has all the amenities that you will require, and the owner even provided towels to use at the hot pools in Furnas. That was a nice touch. The tiered back yard area is very comfortable, and relaxing, with chairs and a table. Our only disappointment was that we had wrongly assumed that the property was in the city of Ponta Delgada, but luckily we had a rental, and could get to the places we wanted to visit.

Beautiful, clean home in the perfect location
This house was beautiful, very clean and comfortable. Location was perfect to enjoy all areas of the island, easy to drive in any direction. The host was so nice, she offered great tips on what to do during our short stay.
We will definitely return! Highly recommend.

Staying in this small but very comfortable and well-equipped house made for one of the best holidays ever. The photos only give a hint as to how special the house is. The craftsmanship of the builders is top-notch and the feeling of space one gets makes it easy to forget that the house is not very large. The outdoor space with a lovely open raised terrace and a lower space with bar-b-q grill was great for relaxing and getting sun. Beyond the raised terrace is a grassy area that gave the feeling of a small meadow. And from the back yard/terrace there are wonderful views of the mountains and fields in the distance.
I recommend this house to anyone who enjoys quiet, peaceful time but also wants easy access to more urban pleasures; the house is only a 15 minute drive from Ponta Delgada on roads that have very few cars on them. I cannot imagine anyone staying here and not enjoying themselves. It's a wonderful central location on the island and easy to get to all the great sites that everyone should visit while on San Miguel. Rent this house; you won't be sorry.

Very nice, clean, modern accommodations suitable for a large group (6-8). Well equipped with private patio. Safe neighbourhood, within walking distance of basic amenities.
