The location is fantastic. It's surprisingly quiet - even though quite close to a steep road which runs below the property - and has lovely views over the marina, old town, beach, sea, and the rugged and brooding 'lighthouse' island. The swimming pool is a good size and well maintained, and again has great views. And we were entertained daily by small birds, boisterous seagulls and, especially, by flocks of swifts as they dipped and dived all around us. Very special!

This property probably contravenes the UK Trades Description Act. It's described as a 'detached villa' with a 'private' pool, so that's what we were looking forward to. Not until we picked up the keys did we realise that it's actually a villa split into four apartments with a shared pool. We were fortunate to find only one other apartment occupied (by a lovely French couple who live there), and only in our second week was the downstairs apartment occupied. Again, luckily, by a couple of French girls who were respectful and considerate. But it's pot luck. Had our neighbours been noisy and inconsiderate, our holiday would have been badly spoilt. Especially as a 'detached villa with private pool' shouldn't HAVE any neighbours! THIS IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH. And is it too much to ask for the bed(s) to be made up? After a nine-hour drive, and a trudge around the local supermarket for basic provisions, we really weren't impressed to be just given sheets and left to it! And, re provisions, a welcome pack would have been nice too - (charge for it, for goodness sake, but at least offer it!).

We missed a nice comfort bank to watch television. The bed matrasses were very hard (we are not used to it)
