I and my husband visited Maine this fall to enjoy nature and go on hikes. Mike’s log cabin was a perfect place to stay at. The place was very clean, which is the most important thing for me to fully enjoy my vacation. The cabin is so cozy and pretty, we loved coming back to it after long hikes. We also enjoyed kayaking and the fire pit that Mike had ready for us. I would love to have an opportunity of coming back some day. Thank you Mile for being such an amazing host and for your thoughtful welcome gifts! My husband enjoyed maple candy so much!

Excellent lakefront cabin in a central location. Many amenities available and completely stocked with everything needed for a wonderful stay.

This property was truly amazing…. From the location to the views we could not have been happier. We have rented a lot of VRBO’s in the past but this is one of the best. It was completely stocked with everything you could ask for and more. Mike was great to work with and we are hoping for a return visit in the future!!

Beautiful cabin on the lake. We had everything we needed. Enjoyed the outdoor fire pit as well as the indoor fireplace. Kitchen was well stocked. Washer and dryer were much appreciated!

This was a picture perfect cabin on a lake! Beautiful sunset view. The cabin was well appointed with anything you might need and very comfortable. Mike, the host, provided many excellent suggestions for restaurants and things to do in Maine. His welcome gifts were a surprise, thoughtful and delicious! Highly recommend.

Could not have been more perfect. Owner went out of her way to welcome us and supply the over the top lovely gifts of snacks, wine, a candle, and even a beautiful bouquet of fresh flowers! Bed was super comfy, everything you needed was supplied in the log cabin. We loved having our glass of wine on the deck for happy hour and watching the sunset. House and landscaping is gorgeous! So convenient to Bangor, Ellsworth, and Acadia. Lake is clear and pretty. Would love to stay here again.

Had a lovely stay at this lakeside cabin. Views of the lake were fantastic, particularly seeing the cotton-candy colored sunsets. The cabin is very clean, well stocked (fully stocked kitchen, many options for entertainment for all ages, lots of clean linens and towels) and well situated near Ellsworth and Bangor. We were able to enjoy a number of delicious family meals, and even got fresh steamed lobster from a location that the owner recommended. The fire pit was fun to use while we were there, and there are kayaks to take out and enjoy on the lake. The owner was particularly attentive when we told him we were traveling with infant twins. He was able to secure some toys and port-a-cribs for us to use, so we didn’t have to travel with so much stuff (as traveling with infants is already a lot!) Would highly recommend this cabin, and would absolutely consider another stay here in the future.

Upon arrival we were absolutely blown away at first impression of property and the interior of the house was amazing! The host had arrival gifts placed on kitchen counter. Felt at home right away after a long travel. Simply beautiful location..clarity of the lake was amazing. The water was a little chilly in June for snorkeling for this old dude, but fishing and canoeing around the lake was awesome! The house was clean, comfortable and well stocked. Thank you Mike for your hospitality!! We would love to come again and spend more time.

Everything we needed was there, anything we thought we would need was there. This was, by far, the best home we have rented. Our only regret on our vacation to Maine was not having more time in our schedule to fully enjoy the home, the kayaks, etc.

This property is amazingly beautiful and was perfect for our family adventures. The property is clean, and has plenty of space for a family to relax after a day of hiking and adventuring. We would highly recommend staying at this beautiful home.

Our family enjoyed this house for a week in May/June 2023. It is one of the best VRBOs we have stayed in. It is very clean, comfortable, and has clear instructions for the amenities and extras in the house. There were plenty of clean dishes, silverware, glassware, and kitchen utensils (and all so clean we didn't feel the need to wash them before use.) The washer and dryer worked great and there were plenty of laundry detergent, dryer sheets, diswasher detergent, etc. We were greeted with nice welcoming gifts along with great recommendations for local restaurants that were delicious. The property owner was friendly and easy to reach if needed; however, we didn't really need to contact him because everything was taken care of with the home. The location of the home was perfect for enjoying the beautiful sunrises and sunsets on the lake, using the two kayaks provided at the home, or going in several directions within a half-hour drive: Bar Harbor, Acadia National Park, Bangor, etc. We've rented several places through VRBO. This one doesn't just feel like a rental; it feels like a home away from home!

Cabin was perfect!!! Great location, great view, very clean. Host was very helpful and had a wonderful welcome gift upon arrival. I would definitely stay here again!!!

We returned this year because we had such a hard time leaving last year. The house is beautiful with a stellar view of Phillips Lake and surrounding hills. The house even has an old school clothes line that attaches to the house and rotates on a wheel so you can hang things without getting off the deck. The beds are very comfy. The collection of books in the house is fantastic, many best sellers and I even found the new (Stephen King "Fairy Tale" in the little library next door. The location is convenient to both Ellsworth and Bangor and 45 min to Bar Harbor. Our favorite places to visit were Mason's Brewery/pub in Brewer, Airline pub and Fogtown brewery/pizza in Ellsworth, Reny's in Ellsworth and the L.L.Bean outlets in Ellsworth and Bangor. (the Bangor one is much better stocked.) Acadia Provisions has great Boar's Head meats in their deli and a variety of natural and organic type food and jerky. We stopped at the Lucerne Inn up the road for a cocktail one eve but their dinner menu looked delicious. but we could not stay. We love this place and Mike and Sue are fantastic hosts. A welcome gift of Main delights wat waiting for us on arrival. We will be returning!

What a fabulous vacation! It’s hard to imagine a more perfect location for such a beautiful cabin. It features the most spectacular sunsets and cool evening breezes. It’s an absolute perfect blend of rustic charm and modern luxuriousness. Everything from the soft plush towels and fresh crisp linens to the fully stocked kitchen/pantry loaded with pots, pans, plates, cups, utensils, etc. It has all the comforts of home and then some. No need to pack your entire house into the trunk, because most of it is already here waiting for you. Just pack your clothes and any personal items. When you arrive, all you need to do is make a short trip to local market just 7 minutes away from the cabin to stock up the fridge with all of your favorite goodies. Just about as stress free as it gets. This cabin offers several secluded nooks and crannies where your group can spread out and enjoy some quiet time to read a book, watch tv, play a video game, do a puzzle, or just take a nap. The charming dockhouse by the lake is the best example of this. My wife’s personal favorite way to enjoy the sunset. It was such a pleasure to meet our gracious hosts, Mike & Sue. They are both super friendly and Mike is very responsive if you have questions or concerns. We can’t thank them enough for providing us with this wonderful experience. Everything about this trip was truly remarkable and we hope to return in the future.

You could see the lake from almost every room in this house. The property is simultaneously simple and luxurious. It is a tough act to follow as evidenced by the VRBO we are currently in for the next week which is underwhelming in contrast

We had a great stay. The lake is gorgeous and the house was exactly what we needed. If/when we return to Maine, I would like to stay in the same house.

Our family of four stayed at the cabin for 5 nights in May and had a fantastic experience. We all loved the view and peace and quiet which was a nice break from busy everyday life. Our host, Mike, was super organized which made the whole process hassle-free and his hospitality and recommendations were much appreciated. The cabin was clean, well stocked and had so many great places to relax and enjoy some down time. The dock house was a favorite spot to hang out and we loved having the kayaks and canoe to use on the beautiful lake. The location worked great for us and it was an easy 45 minute drive into Bar Harbor and Acadia. We loved that we could drive in for the day and then return to the quiet of the cabin. Overall we had a fantastic experience at the cabin and would definitely recommend it for families/groups looking for a getaway in beautiful Maine.

The house was perfect!

My family and I just enjoyed a beautiful 8 day stay at this property and it is wonderful! The cabin is clean and has a great open floor plan downstairs that provides beautiful views of the lake and trees. Inside is everything you could want or need to prepare great meals, relax by the fireplace and watch anything you can think of on tv. Movies, video games, books, board games - it’s all there with great variety! Outside is beautifully kept with flower beds, a firepit area that was so fun for chatting, reminiscing and making smores. We took the canoe and kayaks out on the lake and it was pure relaxation. The lake is crystal clear - my husband caught fish off the shoreline (sm mouth bass) and he and I even took an unintended dip in the lake (very refreshing LOL) Walks in the morning are quiet and invigorating. The property is a perfect location. You get the natural feel of being in the woods in Maine - but a 15 min drive and you hit stores, restaurants, etc. We got live lobster from Jones Lobster Co that were delicious! As we were leaving we stopped at the Eagle’s Nest restaurant in Brewer on our way to the airport and the lobster rolls are out of this world! Huge, fresh and perfectly made. Definitely a ‘must do’! Mike and Sue were the best hosts! Very accommodating and helpful - we’ve been renting through VRBO for many years and I would have to say Mike is top notch! We will definitely be returning and look forward to our next Maine adventure. Thank you so much Mike and Sue for the amazing hospitality and for sharing your home with us. Just a great experience from start to finish - and truly gives the Maine experience!!

What a beautiful property. My husband and I had the pleasure of staying here for the last week of October. The view is gorgeous, from many many areas of the home and property. Our morning walks near the lake got us going for the day! We spent the week with small day trips. Routes were easily accessible. The suggestions left by Mike were a great help. We spent one day lounging around the house, taking advantage of the many amenities. A jet stream tub, ugh so relaxing. The numerous streaming apps with the Apple TV, not to mention I read two books from his collection while I sat in front of the fireplace. For the kitchen people, nicely organized with everything you need. The built in griddle on the stove top spoiled me rotten. Easy clean up too. The furnishings were comfortable, clean, and stylish. I’m already planning our trip next year!

This cottage is lovely and so well cared for, with many special touches from made-in-Maine welcome gifts to stunning views of Phillips Lake. We were surrounded by comfort and convenience at every turn. Good wifi access allowed us to keep up with work obligations; kitchen was well stocked; beds were very comfortable; and the stone fireplace added cozy ambience. Everything was very clean, and the accommodations were simply wonderful. We enjoyed canoeing the perimeter of the lake while surrounded by beautiful fall-colored trees and loved participating in a guided full moon paddle at Hirundo Wildlife Refuge. Hikes at Acadia and nearby Kisko provided outstanding views. In sum, this cottage is a gem in a beautiful location.

Pretty much everything you'd imagine if you could rent a cabin on a lake in Maine! Views are spectacular and the amenities in the cabin are perfect, every thing from the beds, bathrooms, cable TV, WIFI, has fireplace, full appliances that are all brand new and a quiet location where all you can smell are the tall pines that surrounded the property Mike the owner is a gracious host who is just a phone call away if you need anything at all. You couldn't really ask for anything more.

This property has quickly become on our top 2 list of favorite places to return to on our annual trip (30 years and counting) to downeast Maine. I've never spent so much time just observing, listening and simply 'being' in a place as I did here. The sunsets, fall colors, kayaking on the lake, walks on Lakeview road and across at Kiski trails, and just enjoying the comforts of the house and amenities all made for an incredible time. We discovered, thanks to Mike's recommendation, Mason's in Brewer; a craft brewery, restaurant right on the river. Great food, beer and ambiance. The welcome gift was very much appreciated as well. The check in and check out were so easy. We have booked our next year's LONGER stay. Mike is an awesome host.

This beautiful home situated on Phillips Lake with gorgeous sunsets exceeded our expectations! It is an easy drive to ANP and Bar Harbor. The home is fully equipped and we wanted for nothing. The two coffee makers along with comfortable beds, large BBQ grill and a jacuzzi were enjoyed by all. Our hosts were most accommodating with a lovely welcome package. The easiest check-in and check-out we have ever experienced. Highly recommend!

We had a great vacation at Lake Phillips. The house was absolutely gorgeous! The views from the deck are breathtaking taking, and Michael was a great host! We will definitely be back next year.
