clean, good breakfast, friendly staff

no private washroom, but we knew that when we booked. two washrooms were very clean. we have booked it again

Stepping into this place felt like stepping into a mini oasis. There were so many beautiful plants and nice places to sit outside the room. The room was comfortable, AC worked well.

The owners were so welcoming and friendly- it was like staying with friends. The courtyard breakfast exceeded expectations, very tasty, and the courtyard itself was a peaceful oasis from the city. The room was fairly basic, as expected, but clean and with a good, strong shower. Location was great for a cheap and easy Uber ride.

Reasonable value, OK breakfast, comfortable bed. Staff all fine.

Our room was next to the front door and road, so shockingly noisy more or less throughout the night, with the metal door slamming and suitcases being g dragged down the steps... A terrible night with little sleep. Room and bathroom very small. Rickety bunk bed. Impossible to make dark.

only one shower; the noise was a bit much to handle, it felt like being in the street, even with hear plugs, and then in the morning the staff is not making any effort to keep it down, so very difficult to get any rest.

Really nice hotel in the middle of Alajuela. It is in an incredible old and beautiful house. Great garden at the back for breakfast. 5 minutes walk to the bus Station (to the airport or San José) and all shops are around the corner. Great staff!

The place itself was fine — a basic room with a shared bathroom close to the airport — but they charged me twice for my one-night stay and still have not refunded me or responded to my calls or emails after a month. Not a great business practice…check your credit card statement after staying here.

I enjoyed every bit and made me feel like home. Everyone was super polite friendly and helpful! It’s located in the center of everything, shops, restaurants, market museum Etc. it was the perfect arrival in Costa Rica to get settled get what I need and begin my trip!

Hot shower. Comfortable beds

I don't have enought words to describe the humiliation and disappointed I felt in this place. It was our first night in Costa Rica, we were recieved with an allegedly nice and welcoming experience, only to discover in the hard way that we were scammed by the owner who gave us change in the amount of around 50 dollars in local currency, with old unuslable bills. We discovered this the hard way while trying to pay in a resturant, only to discover the money is no longer on use in Costa Rica, and maybe can be changes In a bank in San Jose, long after we left the city. We were so sorry to discover how they mistreated new arriving tourists to Costa Rica, with no understanding of the situation. We felt so badly to start our vacation like this. We hope this review will help others to avoid the inconvenience of this place. Beside that, we received a room in the entrance of the building, it was very noisy, not only due to the noise from the street, but also by employees that came early at 6am, buzzing the door bell and yelling to each other all around the building. Breakfast was also not as describes in other reviews, poor choices and bad taste.

The location is practical for traveling to and from the airport, as it is in the centre of Alajuela. Staff is very friendly and the breakfast is tasty. The common areas are welcoming.

At first we were given a room without glass in the bathroom window, which resulted in a lot of mosquitos inside. The night receptionist was very helpful and offered us a different room. On the Saturday night we were there, there was quite a bit of noise from a nearby club, which even the white noise machine provided couldn't cover up. The rooms could use some freshening up: there were cobwebs on the doors and bathroom shelves, and the walls were a bit grimy.

Great staff and it was nice that they would let us check in early. Breakfast was nice as well. ~15 mins away from the airport with the taxi.

Depending on which room you will get it can be quite noisy from external factors. There is a white noise machine which can be used though.

Excellent proximity to SJO. Owner and staff were helpful and attentive.
