The house is gorgeous. Lots of space to spread out and relax. Home away from home that has washing machine, fully stocked (pots, pans, plates, etc) full kitchen, air conditioning, full furnishings. Very convenient walk to everything needed: Harbor, Kastro beach, restaurants, and shops.

During month of August, maybe other times too, the Cuban tavern across the lane plays live music from 10:00 pm until 1:30 am and motor bikes go by until 2:30 am. If you close all the internal doors, the sound is dampened, but may be a problem for light sleepers or people who go to bed early. On the flip side, the town doesn’t rise until 9:00 am, so one can sleep in to make up for being up late. Everything else is so wonderful about the house that the tavern is a small inconvenience. The tavern’s music is good too.

This is a lovely old house right in the heart of Lefkada Old Town. It was built in the 30s and has many original features, shutters, tiled floors and is in the middle of a beautiful warren of tiny streets lived in by local people, yet it is two minutes walk away from the Central Square and the marina and all the touristy shops and restaurants you could wish. If you want all the mod cons, power showers and icy air con, it's not for you, but if you love getting a glimpse of the more authentic side of the Old Town, it's great. We loved having breakfast in the little private garden and listening to the Greek families around us. The owners live upstairs and are so welcoming and friendly, inviting us to help ourselves to their home-grown tomatoes and chillis. There is air con in the sitting room and main bedroom (big comfy bed) but not the smaller rooms but when we asked they provided fans immediately. Don't miss an evening meal in the local square and a cocktail in the nearby Cuban bar, Havana.
