À propos de cette location de vacances
Historic Platte Lake Home, 205 Ft Lakefront, 2 Miles From Sleeping Bear Dune

The cottage held so much charm as was promised in the description. I have rented many summer places, and this by far was one of the loveliest, cleanest, and welcoming. The owner was extremely communicative and supportive. Not only did we have Platte Lake in which to swim, Peterson Beach was one of the most stunning lake Michigan beaches I’ve seen.

We all had a nice relaxing and fun week at your home. We enjoyed playing in the water every day. It was a nice bonus to have the kayaks as we used them daily. We kayaked the Platte River and it was awesome!! A lot of different activities an sights to see close by.
Enjoyed sitting around the campfire every night.

Just as it appears
We stayed here with our three adult children and their significant others to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. The place is exactly as it appears in the photos. It was very clean and very well stocked. There were great beds - hard to find a place with three bedrooms that have at least a queen sized bed. The outdoor area was very nice with a dock, kayaks, fire pit, lots of seating, etc. The lake was nice and we used our boat several days. The only drawback for us was a lack of comfortable seating and good lighting in the living room. The furniture wasn't really meant for lounging. The best piece of furniture was the couch on the side porch but my son slept in there all week so it wasn't really available for use as a living area.

Paradise
We had a wonderful week on Platte Lake. The cottage was perfect. Very cool place to replenish your Pure Michigan spirit. The cottage had so many great places to relax and take in the beautiful scene. Plenty of space for our family and all of the amenities that we could ever ask for. Being on the footsteps of the Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore makes it even more ideal. The hosts were helpful, kind and gracious. Great overall experience.

Family vacation
My Chicago and Cleveland families had a wonderful vacation at Historic Platte Lake Home! Being on the lake with yardage on either side of the home was perfect! We took advantage of the kayaks provided and my grandsons loved just running around , playing games. I would definitely recommend!

A perfect northern MI vacation!
Our family of 5, with small kids, had a perfect getaway on Platte Lake! The home was incredibly clean and comfortable, and our hosts were excellent with communication and information.
Most importantly, the location is unbeatable - we can't wait to come back!

Great vacation
This property is fantastic. Great woodwork and atmosphere in the house. The outdoors is exceptional. We spent most of our time overlooking the lake at all the locations, from the decks, to the swing, to the hammock to the dock. Would rent again in a heartbeat!

Up North get away
This year especially my son and family wanted to stay away from people, they drove from Phoenix in a motor home with kids to avoid hotels, restaurants and planes. This place fit the bill, we really didn't need to go anywhere once we got there. Also the weather was perfect, I know you can't always count on that, but we have stayed here three times and had great weather every time.

Heavenly spot on Platte Lake
We had a perfect week. The owner did a terrific virtual check-in and the house was impeccably clean. The house I very well-equipped and cared for. Platte Lake is divine. The water temp was up to about 80 by the time we left and was great for swimming and water sports. We loved being able to use the kayaks and the outdoor spaces were great. It was nice to always have a different shady spot for which to gaze at the lake. We had a hot week and the 6 or so fans indoors were a big help. We loved being just 10 minutes from Lake Michigan and enjoyed 3 sunsets there, the national park, canoeing and more. The i land lake location. With such proximity to sleeping bear dunes lakeshore is a real treat. Thanks for a marvelous week.

Pics Don't Do It Justice!
When I walked into the house all I could keep saying was wow as I strolled through looking at everything. It's absolutely beautiful and was exceptionally clean! I mean exceptionally clean! The upstairs bathroom had a small leak issue which I reported and they offered to come fix right away. It was no biggie for us we just showered on the main floor. The water is super shallow and crystal clear. The bottom has larger rocks so water shoes are helpful. The only thing we missed at this property was having a small beach area for the kids to play in the sand. Everything else was perfect.

The Platte Lake experience
We had a great time at the lake; the pull out sofa and futons were a bit hard in old bones, but we managed just fine and there was an air bed available if we needed it. I would definitely rent this place again.

What a cottage should be
We loved everything from Platte Lake to property to the cottage to the furnishings! Our stay was everything a Michigan lake stay vacation was supposed to be. We can’t say enough about how great the cottage was and the activities around the area. The family did not want to go home!

Lovely historic cottage
This was our third visit and we love the well equipped house and grounds. The beautiful Platte Lake sunsets from the dock are always a highlight.

Little slice of heaven
LOVED this house and property! Platte Lake was amazing too. The house has many sitting/relaxing nooks inside and out. Lots of privacy and very family-friendly. Used the kayaks everyday and my 6 year old used the child kayak. She loved it! The house has a lot charm and is extremely clean. Having a dishwasher saved us a lot of time too.

Very nice property
The house was just as advertised and we enjoyed the property, the grills, the convenience of having two full refrigerators and the scenic views of the lake. The upstairs bathroom didn’t have hot water so we all had to take turns using one shower downstairs but fortunately there was an outdoor shower as well. It was quite hot during our stay and some of the family were uncomfortable trying to sleep. The auxiliary “cabin” which we had hoped to put the two girls in went unused because it was stuffy and spidery. Better for a rugged guest than our city girls. Otherwise we enjoyed the stay very much and as we are extremely familiar with the area were able to visit all of our favorite spots from here: Sleeping Bear Dunes, Frankfort, Point Betsie Lighthouse and Lake Michigan as well as music concerts at Interlochen.

Great place for a family stay
Great setting right on Platte Lake! This home was very clean and Sherrie (Property Mgr) was so nice in checking us in and showing us around the home. We had a family reunion there and everyone really enjoyed their accommodations and hanging out by the fire at night and viewing the lake. I would recommend to anyone wanting to vacation in this part of Michigan. We were very pleased with our stay here.

Wonderful Three Weeks
We were very impressed with the historic nature of the cottage, beautifully decorated, and with 200' of lakefront!!! Our family visited in rounds, and we all enjoyed the fire pit (with smores) at night, the kayaks, dock, hammock, and wooden swing. Very livable for up to 10 people, we had a max of 7 and we hardly knew it. Kathryn (owner), Sherrie, and Wayne were all wonderful and made for an easy and clean stay. One doorknob needed some attention and Wayne was there within a few hours with a replacement.
The "Trading Post" will cart you and your kayaks back from Lake Michigan (amazing 3-4 hours kayak trip) for only $20. Neighbors are far away. Ideally situated for our needs. We will be back.
