Custom Built Luxury Home on Canal; Walk to Beach; Close to Everything!
Description de la maison: Profitez de notre grande et belle maison de luxe sur mesure sur l'eau et à distance de marche de la plage au centre des Keys. Nous avons quatre chambres, deux avec un lit king size, une avec un lit gigogne (2 lits jumeaux), une avec deux lits queen size. Il y a un salon, une salle familiale, une grande cuisine avec îlot (appareils Viking) avec une table à manger attenante avec 8 chaises et 2 tabourets pour manger au niveau du bar. C'est une très grande maison avec des sols en marbre partout, cheminée, ascenseur, piscine et jacuzzi.

The home was perfect especially for a large group of friends. Great location - easy boat access to the Atlantic, sombrero beach is across the street and close to Publix. The owner was very kind and responsive. He went out of his way to accommodate a post surgery need I had.

Beautiful, spacious ,clean and close to Sombrero Reef. Beautiful pool, great dock space, tons of balconies. The beds are comfortable to. Good parking and an elevator that worked. House has a lot of stairs inside and outside. All spacious rooms and plenty of bathrooms. Super nice.

The home is beautiful and was just right for our family ages 15-80. Close to the beach, close to town (marathon) and off the main thorough fare so quiet and peaceful. Easy stroll to watch the sunset each night. Thank you and would certainly stay again if in the Keys.

Fantastic stay. The property is about 300 feet from Sombero Beach, but far enough down the site street that it's private. Beautiful outdoors and back yard, with a deck running the length of the main floor, and balconies in two of the upstairs berooms overlooking the back yard, pool and dock. Very clean, very well maintained - REALLY nice kitchen appliances. There was plenty of room and everything was clean and well stocked. The neighborhood is about 2 miles off US-1 and houses are very well maintained and landscaped, but you're close enough to the highway that a Publix, Winn-Dixie, CVS, and other stores are less than 5 minutes away. We enjoyed walking out to dock every day. We rented kayaks and paddleboards and the kids (teens) enjoyed kayaking from the dock around to Sister Creek and Boot Key. The dock is 3-4 feet above the water line, the kids were nimble enough to climb down the ladder and sit into the kayak. Marathon Key is a great spot to be in the central Keys, everything is about an hour away in either direction. We went to Key West, visited the Turtle Hospital, went snorkeling, Bahai Honda state park, and lots of spots on Marathon. Owner Andy was super responsive, answering questions and ensuring a good experience. Great stay, definitely coming back!

we enjoyed our stay in Marathon at this property. it is a nice layout with plenty of room and is especially well located with a short one block walk to Sombrero Beach. the owner was very easy to communicate with and was very cooperative and attentive to requests. the home is starting to show some age, however, and could use a bit more maintenance and some updating at this price point.

This is a beautiful property in an ideal location. The property manager was available and responsive. The pool was perfect for the age group we had with us; the accessibility to the canal was a plus, especially when a manatee visited us, and the beach was close and beautiful. Our family had a wonderful time.

Diamond in Marathon
This property was well cared for, well furnished, well equipped and spacious. The pool area is a nice addition although I wish the hot tub had gotten hotter. Fantastic location a short walk to Sombrero Beach for fabulous sunsets. Love the coral decks and multistory East and West facing balconies. Well located near grocery stores and local activities such as manatee kayaking and the Sea Turtle Hospital. Highly recommend.

We enjoyed our time at the house. We saw Manatee’s in the canal and also caught fish from the dock. The pool was welcoming and comfortably warm. We definitely will be back.

Fantastic Property/Location
What an exceptional property! Everything you need is at the home. Three houses from Sombrero Beach. One of our favorite activities was having morning coffee on the back veranda overlooking the channel and watching the morning Iguanas coming out to sun themselves! When we contacted Andy for a couple of requests - he responded immediately. Hope to be back next year!

The property manager was very responsive to my texts on any issues. It would be nice to have a instruction sheet on hot tub operation. The hot water system for showers needs to be looked at as the shower will go from cold to hot with very little control

Birthday Trip
We stayed for 2 weeks for my wife’s 50th Birthday. Her parents, brother and 2 of our kids came as well. The house and location were perfect! Easy access to Sombrero Beach but far enough off the road to be quiet. The pool and hot tub were enjoyed by all and even caught some fish off the dock. Enjoyed the walking and bike path to Publix. We had a small issue with the refrigerator and contacted the owner. He responded within 5 minutes and fixed the issue. It was a perfect vacation and probably the nicest house we have stayed in! Very quiet and each bedroom has its own bathroom. Having the elevator was very helpful getting the luggage as well for my in laws. I would highly recommend this property for others.

Relaxing Family Time
Property worked out well for our needs as a family destination. 6 Adults and 4 Children enjoyed our time. Great location right near the beach which also had a playground. The pool at the house came in handy when we didn’t want to bring the kids and all the stuff to the beach. Would highly recommend, just know that there are lots of stairs so if you have little ones, you will need to keep an eye on them.

Home with good potential in need of repair
This could be a 5-star property if thoroughly inspected and adequately maintained. At check-in we found dirty bathrooms, non-working kitchen appliances and trash throughout the property. The owner was indeed responsive, but we shouldn’t have had to contact him so often.
The interior is as pictured. Beware of loose fixtures throughout the house. We did enjoy the pool and balcony areas, and the dock was extremely convenient. This is a nice house with good potential. It would benefit from proper management.

Spring break was great!
Can’t beat the location of this house! Steps from the beautiful Sombrero beach (beach chairs and toys included with the rental), boat dock and channel for fishing (we even saw 2 manatees during our week stay), fantastic restaurants, and proximity to other parts of the Florida keys (day trips to key west, islamarado, etc). We enjoyed the spacious pool and jacuzzi every day, as well as morning coffee to watch the sunrise and evening cocktails for the sunset on the large decks. We had a couple of maintenance issues with the house (Vrbo pictures are accurate), but the owner was extremely responsive and any issues were fixed quickly. Our family of 5 (2 teens and an 8 yo) and a few guests had plenty of room to spread out, the elevator was a bonus for all of our luggage in/out. FYI for future renters: We rented kayaks, but the property did not have a ladder to access them. We had to take them out off the bay/beach instead.

Fantastic Stay!
First, communication with the owner was fantastic; immediate and concise. He was very available and helpful. The location of this home is perfect, close to everything. 2 minute walk to the beach and a 4 minute drive to grocery stores. The large kitchen is well appointed with everything you need for any kind of cooking. The separate ice machine was a huge bonus! The beds were comfortable and the bedding inviting. Plenty of towels and beach towels are provided. The pool area is amazing with lounge chairs for all. We enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi tremendously. The jacuzzi heated up quickly. There are some pool toys, and we left a few more for future guests to enjoy. We had a pontoon boat for the week docked right out back. A manatee came to visit us at the dock too! Exploring the area from the water was an added luxury. We would certainly stay here again. :)

Where better to quarantine for a month!
Stayed at this beautiful home for January. Work - virtual, school - virtual, so why not? We are from up north so the cold weather can wear on you when you are trapped in doors. This was great as after we finished work and school online each day instead of staring out at the cold, we would then walk to beach, swim in the heated pool, bike ride etc. Andy the owner was great to deal with. A couple items need some TLC but all in all the home is really nice, doesn’t feel “slapped together” like a lot of new construction beach homes. Definitely would stay again.

Great House, Great Location, House needs some TLC.
This is a great house and amazing location. Easy 2-minute walk to the beach and you can even see the ocean from the balcony. House is a great size with 3 big bedrooms upstairs and 1 smaller bedroom downstairs. We stayed with 2 adults and 6 teenagers and it was perfect. Pool and spa were really pretty and the heat on the spa was perfect.. The only drawback is that the house needs some TLC. Light fixtures were out, kitchen utensils need replacing, new utensils needed and furniture could use some updating. House manager, Andy, ,was FANTASTIC -- incredibly responsive and helpful and got us a few items we needed the very next day. I'd stay here again for sure but would bring a few more things from home to make it more user friendly.

Casa De Luna
The house and location were perfect. We were able to walk to Sombrero Beach. There were beach chairs at the house. We had our 28’ boat which fit in the dock space nicely. We were able to fit the trailer and three SUVs in the driveway. The backyard is gorgeous with a beautiful pool. Everything you see in the pictures is exactly what you get. Beautiful kitchen....and I read another review from last year about ants which I know are an issue all around that area but we came prepared. We kept everything in ziplock bags, kept the sink clear of dishes and we didn’t have a problem.
I would maybe recommend bringing some beach towels. I brought my own (and bath towels too). They provided those but I didn’t see many beach towels. There is a washer and dryer which is great to have!
We loved being close to Publix as well. We will definitely stay at Casa De Luna again!

Wonderful Home near the beach
This is a wonderful home that is well equipped for a group. Close proximity to the beach and Marathon make if very convenient. It is fairly well equipped but it needs some tender loving care. Door knobs, faucet controls and towel racks are falling off. We were short on toilet paper and face towels on check in. No instructions were available for the spa. Due to these items i just could not give it 5 stars. It is certainly a 4 star however.

Casa Luna was perfect for our family of 7 adults & our 2 granddaughters! Everyone had a great time in the pool & hot tub.
The home was clean & very comfortable to make it our place for the week! Thank you Andy for hosting us! Marathon was a fun place to stay & the beach was great! My granddaughters loved the playground.

Beautiful home in a lovely neighborhood, close to beach
This home made everyone in our party happy - aged 5 to 82!
We loved the home (our only wish was for melamine/plastic dinnerware), the pool (which is nice and shady in the afternoon), the dock, the amenities - it's so nice that there are a ton of beach towels and beach/pool toys around. We loved the neighborhood and the proximity to Sombrero Beach. We loved the chain of keys - the Aquarium, the Turtle Hospital, Crane Hammock, Dolphin Research Center, were all fun for the whole group.
The owner is easy to contact and responsive; he made checking in and out very simple, which was appreciated too. Just lovely! Would definitely return!

Beautiful but .....
The house is beautiful, the location is perfect, Andy and his team are extremely responsive, but we couldn’t use the kitchen pretty much our entire stay due to an ant infestation. One type looked like a basic ant that we could clean away, but there was a second type that bit and left us all with itchy bites. Not a crumb could be left on the counter or floor without a swarm of ants appearing. We also found them in and around the living room couch. If it wasn’t for this recurring issue the house stay would have been worth the price.

Awesome home, and great loacation
We just spent a week in Marathon, and we loved this house. The location was ideal for boating, and the beach. We had 4 kids 12 and under and the pool was a big hit! the house is furnished nicely, and everything you need is included. The owner was very easy to get in touch with if we had any questions. The only thing I would add would have been a ladder on the dock. It was fine when our boat was there, but the kids would have swam more in the canal if it had a ladder to get out. The boat dock itself was very large and was easy to park our 25' boat. This is a very well constructed home with travertine tile everywhere! It was first class. We will be back again!

Great home & prime location for Sombrero Beach & Sister’s Creek Ocean access
Andy, the owner, was very responsive with any questions we had from the time of rental throughout our stay.
Grandparents enjoyed the ease of elevator mobility & children enjoyed the pool. Fishing off the large private dock, short walks to the beach, & enjoying the visiting manatee in the canal were highlights this week.
We’ve stayed in this neighborhood for a week over the past few years; however this home was our favorite rental by far. Cookware & appliances were nice, HVAC cooled the home well, layout & design of the home was very functional.
