Perfect location..one block from restaurants and the bay. It was great to have 2 nice bathrooms for all of us. Very clean with a great layout. Highly recommend

Perfect location right in town. Pictures do not do this house justice. Cutest house and tons of space! Hosts were great at responding with questions and check in/check out was so easy. We have stayed in multiple houses through Grand Marais and this is by far one of our absolute favorites. We will be back for sure! We had 3 trucks and trailers and all 3 fit with plenty of space.

I think my first words words when myself and my Mom walked in was "WOW". It was so beautiful, i was actually speechless. There were 6 of us, and everyone was very comfortable with the place. We had enough room to move around, and the kitchen was stocked well with cooking utensils and vessels. My 88 year old Mother loved the place and enjoyed being able to have a dining room table big enough for us all to eat together ❤️

Great location, very clean, lots of space, all the amenities we needed and more, and within walking distance of Restaurants - great service and food, shops. Everyone loved all the beach opportunities. Friendly community. We enjoyed the beautiful area with lots of superb visitor destinations in the area. We were blessed with beautiful weather, a very calm Lake Superior and the chance to truly see the Northern Lights! We highly recommend the Big Red and Grand Marais for an ideal vacation spot. House has plenty of room to spread out. We Appreciated the extra special touches in the home. GM is my favorite place to be and this house fits all our needs. The owners are amazing to work with and own the ATV power sports shop next door for a day on the trails. Also try the Breakwall restaurant for a delicious breakfast We can’t wait for next year!

Big Red was clean, comfortable, spacious, and well appointed. A great location with hospitable hosts in a hidden gem of a town. Day trips, walks to the beach and ice cream stand, and a place you’d like to call home, this is an ideal home and town. And, every bed is a sleep number bed giving you some of the best sleep you’ve had in a while.

The home was even better in person than the pictures. This was one of the best vacations I’ve taken with my family. Lots of recreational activities around the area. Beautiful place to explore and wonderful small lake town. Everything in the town was walking distance and everyone was friendly. Sleep number beds was a nice touch. Lots of little extras in the kitchen coffee creamer seasonings condiments etc. Only thing I would recommend is some additional towels and washcloths otherwise it was an amazing stay.

This was our second time staying at this property. It's the perfect fit and very functional for our family. Things we especially enjoy during our stay: sectional in living space means plenty of room for whole family, sleep number beds and pillows are cozy, multiple tables (especially the newer bigger coffee table) for eating, crafting, puzzling, and games. We especially love being able to walk to the beach! Would love to come back again!

We've been to GM many times since the 70's and have stayed in several rentals. Big Red was great--perfect location in town, great kitchen, sleep # beds, clean, spacious for 5 adults, Roku tv, easy and prompt communication with the owners. Highly recommended, and we would stay again.

Perfect location for our annual Snowmobile trip to Grand Marais. Snowmobile rentals right next door. Love the house. Plenty of room for the 6 of us, with everything we needed! Richard and Jennifer are great people. Always available and willing to help with anything we need. We will be back!

Property was great

The pictures don't do this home justice. This home has allot of character and was spacious, yet cozy. Owners did a nice job of renovating a 100+ year old place. Very clean home and easy to work with people. We are already planning to come again!

We had a great time in Grand Marais. We were able to walk to the local restaurant and bar and shops. Even though the snow wasn't the best we still had a great time.

The owners were very kind, thorough and accommodating. We came in early and everything was ready to go. The house was very large and had everything we needed. Very impressed to have all sleep number beds. The kitchen was well stocked and with everything we needed. We have nothing remotely negative to say, very happy with our stay.

Beautiful property in the heart of Grand Marais. Beautiful renovated farm house. Owners were responsive. Lovely kitchen and family room, and compared to most options in the area, it was a luxury retreat!! Only caveats -- the place smelled slightly of smoke (noncompliant previous occupant maybe =() and the wifi is a little buggy because of different zones. Overall we had a very nice experience though! Thanks

Big Red is a wonderful, clean property right downtown Grand Marais. It has everything you will need and is only one block from all of the shops and restaurants. We will be back!

We chose this property because it was close to pictured rocks. As we wanted to hike the park. We also rented UTVs for a day which was conveniently located next door. Wasn’t sure what to expect in the town, but it’s a great little harbor town with maybe a dozen shops, restaurants and stores. It was super relaxed and we walked everywhere in town. The property is about 2-3 miles from the top end of the pictures rocks national lake shore. The house itself was the perfect size for our family. There were 9 of us total. The photos posted online don’t quite do the place justice. We were pleasantly surprised that the place looked nicer in person. The beds were comfortable and the hosts were friendly. We’d like to come back in the winter sometime and check out the snowmobiling.

"Big Red" is everything that you could ask for in a Grand Marais rental. The overall house is very clean with updated decor and furniture (and sleep number mattresses!). Anything that you might need to cook a meal is in the kitchen including a crockpot and a whole rack of herbs/spices, coffee/tea and nice utensils. All of the bedding is fresh and new. No weird smells or tearing. Plenty of towels, toilet paper, and paper towels. The wifi works great throughout the whole house. The drive way is huge which was great because we had two cars and a snowmobile trailer. The best part is that you are walking distance to the restaurants/bars! The owners have the shop next door so stop in to say "Hi" and check out their merchandise or rent a snowmobile!

Fantastic property. Outdoors, living area, kitchen, bathrooms, and bedrooms are all well kept. You can't also can't beat this prime location in the heart of Grand Marais.
