View, garden, connection to history of town

First room had little surface space which made it difficult to unpack personal belongings. Breakfast fairly basic

Excellent location, with a beautiful view of the river, near local sights and restaurants. The house is historic, beautifully furnished and rooms are spacious.

The location is excellent. I felt at home and the owner was very accommodating and helpfull.

Great location and staff. You can walk to everything from Casa do Ribeirnho. Another plus is that there is a youth center a few doors down that rent bikes and has a nice cafe overlooking the river…feels good to support their good work with the youth!

The only thing…I would consider changing out the rough towels and switch to fluffier pillows.

Great location and wonderful outdoor terraces, pool and gardens. Gorgeous old home.

I would think anyone with mobility issues should be concerned with getting into and out of the tight shower.

Our room was clean and cozy. Owners of the mansion are hospitable and helpful. The location was convenient and the view was really nice.

Amarante is a quite humid area, so was the room inside. definitely needs better ventilation.

Location was beautiful, across the river from the town center and near the historic bridge.

Lovely location with views over the river and a very small car park. This is important as parking elsewhere, especially during the day is almost impossible. Ideal for couples doing a tour of Portugal by car and there are usually a number of visitors from around the world.

Location is amazing, right on the river. Charming house with many touches of home. Close to many restaurants, shops and attractions.

Bathroom is a little tight, but not a big deal.

Friendly, very helpful staff. Pleasant, comfortable hotel overlooking the river and close to bars, restaurants, shops and historical centre. Use of well maintained lounge, garden and kitchen. Limited on site parking.

Our room was a disappointment. Unlike the public areas of the hotel it was rather jaded and would benefit from refurbishment. The view from the window was lovely but the room was quite small - there was only room for a bedside table on one side of the double bed. The bathroom door was difficult to shut.

Rooms were booked so we stayed in one of their "bungalows". Bad choice. Tiny, plywood. Yuch.

A nice hotel with great kitchen that guests can use, good breakfast, pleasant little pool and usually easy and free parking (now there is roadworks, so I had to walk a bit from the nearby park, but not a big deal).

The only thing which was really unpleasant that there was some sort of machine (generator or similar) right outside my room and it was very noisy at night, kept waking me up (even with earplugs). Unfortunately I only realized it very late evening as there was no working desk in room and I worked until late in the dining area. By the time I went to sleep, the staff was gone, so I could not request another room. It was really annoying.

Casa do Ribeirinho is in an excellent location on the river and offers comfortable indoor and outdoor reading locations to enjoy the view through the trees. The breakfast was much appreciated and the room itself was "cozy" but comfortable.

The bathroom for our room was quite small, and without strategically pre-positioning the showerhead, the water sprayed onto the bathroom floor and was difficult to redirect. (This was easily fixed once we were aware of the problem, but was quite the surprise first time.)
