You are in between banana plants, it's quiet, you can hear the ocean and restaurants, bars, supermarkets etc are nearby. Very nice and well equipped house. Modern and rural. Couldn't have been better for us!

Schönes Ferienhaus in Hermigua

We - a family of four - had the most marvelous stay in this cozy house. Overlooking vast banana plantations and a view of the sea, the little blue house had all the amenities we could wish for. From the nice terrace with a shaded seating area we could easily enter the garden with its rich fruit trees (banana, passion fruit, papaya).
The communication with the host was super easy and friendly and Susana was very helpful in all things and questions we had.
Someday in the future, when I come back to Gomera, I surely will stay here again!

Mejorable

Perfect getaway to relax
What a great holiday home and location this is on the beautiful Canary island of La Gomera. We enjoyed our stay here very much. The house has everything you need, even a shake maker which you can use to make fresh mango or banana shakes from the garden. The house has a large garden with mango, banana, papaya and passion fruit trees and it is overlooking the Atlantic Ocean: what a great view that is. It is located in the middle of a banana plantation in Hermigua which supposedly seems to have one of the best climates in the world. We enjoyed having our breakfast and evening dinners on the outside terrace. Even in the evening it was great sitting outside on the terrace enjoying the cool breeze. If you want a relaxing holiday away from all the other tourists, this is the place for you: perfect location with great hiking trails and beaches nearby. Definitely worthwhile coming back here some other time.

Paradiesisch
Herrliches schmuckes Haus.

Vielen Dank :)

Lovely location
We had a great holiday in this little house. There is everything you could need and is very comfortable. We did have a couple of problems which were very quickly sorted out after an email. Definitely recommend for a couple who want a quiet holiday. The village is in a good location for walks but you would probably need to have a rental car to get around. A highlight for us was the proximity to the sea water pool which was lovely to get into after a day walking.

Danke.

Loved it!
This little house sits admist banana plantations in the valley of Hermigua.
Hard to describe the views from the house other than absolutely fabulous!
It is so tranquil. During the day the only sounds you may hear are the neighbouring cockerels, the odd dog barking, the rustle of the lizards in the undergrowth and the plantation men working.
And at night the sound of distant frogs and the waves crashing on Santa Catalina beach.
The house is very well equipped and cosy and the garden a peaceful retreat to sit and relax and just admire the beautiful mountains. And the hammock was surprisingly comfortable!
There are bananas, mangos and papaya growing in the garden and we tried several different recipes for cooking the bananas which was fun.
Susana the owner was only a call away if we needed advice and Ramon the local taxi driver brought us to and from the ferry. The walks around the valley are delightful, very hilly but the scenery is worth it.
There is a local bus which passes through the village about 3 times a day in either direction and we found that fun for exploring.
The village itself is about 1/2 mile walk away with plenty of little bars (Pedros was our favourite, a must if you’re a Pink Floyd fan!) or Tasca Telemaca sitting on the beautiful terrace outside with a glass of wine with its amazing mountain backdrop. This was also our favourite restaurant as the inside is quirky and they do a gorgeous fillet steak. If you walk there through the plantation you will also pass the goats and chickens, sheep and cows!
Our other favourite restaurant was Las Characas just a short bus journey away (uphill!) then a nice stroll (3 miles) back to the Finca.
We stayed here for the whole of February and only had a handful of cold days and a couple of wet ones. So take warm clothing with you as well and walking boots are a must.
All in all a truly memorable holiday, very different and every day was a ‘wow’ day with the scenery.
We did explore different villages but Hermigua was definitely our favourite and we will certainly be back!

Really enjoyable time
Our stay here meant we experienced some very interesting windy and wet weather but that didn't spoil a thing for us and the sun did shine quite a bit too. A very peaceful place to stay with fantastic views. Comfortable and homely and very highly recommended.

Comfortable, quiet house with views of the valley and sea
We had a great stay here in Hermigua and the house is a great base to explore the island from. Set amongst the banana plantations it is very comfortable and quiet with just the sounds of daily life in the Hermigua Valley and the crashing of the waves. The house is beautifully decorated and has everything you need - we enjoyed cooking in the modern kitchen and eating out under the stars. The outdoor space is a lovely place to relax and enjoy the spectacular views of the valley and mountain tops. Hermigua itself is one of the nicest places on La Gomera. We recommend the walk to Playa de Caleta, the walk from Alta de Garajonay, and dinner at El Faro in Hermigua!

A perfect house for three
We thoroughly enjoyed the house and the town of Hermigua. Our only problem was finding the house in the dark at 9pm. Luckily a local woman walking her dog saw the picture of the house, recognized it immediately, and was a to help us. My daughter spoke Spanish so that was also useful.
Our mistake was using Google rather than following Susanna’s instructions!
The house was very clean and had everything we needed. My daughter got a shock from the outdoor hanging light bulb so please check on that.

Perfect blue building

We spent a wonderful holiday at the cottage in October. The photos on the website are very representative. The house is situated next to a banana plantage, it's very quiet. The terrace and garden are very large and a perfect place to relax. The master bedroom is on a vide wich is open to the kitchen and living. The second bedroom is in the basement and can be closed off with a door.
We especially enjoyed the natural sea swimming pool at the former port of Hermigua (south to Playa de Hermigua) which is a 10 minute walk from the house. All together a very recommendable place to spend your holiday. Contact with owner Susana went very smoothly.

This is a lovely, little house with tasteful furnishings and décor and with everything you need in a perfect location. It was immaculate. There are views of the sea and the hills from the garden and it is very peaceful. The house is situated in a banana plantation and it is a short walk along the gorge to the sea. You cannot swim there but they are currently building a spa. The town is just a short drive away where there are several good restaurants/ cafes; a Spar, post office etc.
It is a good base to explore the island from as nothing is too far away. The Garajonay National Park is stunning ( with twisted trees like something out of a Grimm's fairy tale); you can go whale watching from Valle Gran Rey where you can also swim. Pools were closed in May as it was low season. At Playa de la Caleta there is a simple but good fish restaurant and you can sit and watch the Atlantic waves crashing on the beach.
Susana the owner was very helpful and replied to all queries promptly. We will definitely return.
