Gorgeous sea view from the living room, bedroom, and deck. The kitchen is equipped for a serious cook. The knives were even sharp!

The views were the most amazing and we spent almost all of our time on the deck enjoying the ocean views and coastal landscape. Every detail we had hoped in our rental home, was covered. Everything you could need in the kitchen. Very comfortable and relaxing home. Gualala had everything we needed!!

Perfect location on a quiet court with endless views. The home is extremely clean considering it’s a vacation rental. Even the couch and chairs were freshly vacuumed. I have stayed at several places on the coast and this one so far is the best!

The Otter's Rest is a perfect spot to decompress from work life! The views from the home and porch are incredible. The home has many amenities for fun, such as books, puzzles and games. The kitchen is stocked to cook delicious meals. Otter's Rest gave our family a true rest!

Not only is the home spotless, well maintained, and beautifully decorated, but it also has everything you could think of needing during your stay. The space heaters were great for chilly mornings. Loved the binoculars, board games, DVDs, and Roku tv. We immediately felt at home here. The view is stunning from all parts of the house. Loved the binders with helpful information, too. We hated to leave.

Enjoyable five days at Otter’s Rest with fabulous weather. Very comfortable & enjoyable house. Good location with spectacular close ocean views of rocky coast from deck & windows. Comfortable beds, well stocked kitchen & baths. One negative is no pretty sunsets as blocked by hill & house.

Lovely older home that was superbly redone! The house is quite literally on a cliff, with killer views of the ocean.
Even though it rained torrentially for our stay, we still had a great time just hanging out!
My only complaint is that I really wanted to swim at Sea Ranch pools, and I did ask if I could get passes or pay extra. Unfortunately, I did not receive a reply until we were already there. I guess you have to rent a home within the Sea Ranch development itself, to use their pools, etc.

This was our second visit to Otter’s Rest. The house is very well equipped. The views are outstanding! The only suggestion we could offer is to upgrade the towels and paper products. When we were here about one year ago, the towels and wash cloths were plush. Not so this time. There was no Kleenex. The paper towels and toilet paper were about the flimsiest we have ever seen. Products like that do not belong in a home of this caliber. Next time we will consider bringing our own from home.

Loved everything about our stay. The house is well laid out, very clean, very comfortable, all the necessary amenities and equipment, conveniently located on the edge of town, spectacular ocean views. Loved being able to find a nice place that also welcomes a dog. Was also pleased by how easy it was to communicate with Vacasa and appreciated their responsiveness.

The VIEW ! Amazing and never gets old. The wild life is everywhere. We’ve seen seals, a Bald Eagle , Otters, Pelicans , deer and more. So peaceful and close to town.

Otter's Rest is a beautiful house on the bluffs. It is very well maintained inside and the view is perfect for whale watching.
We spent the entire time enjoying the outdoors and making use of the board & card games left for visitors. Several whale spouts were sighted and the area information binder for guests inspired a few fun outings to kayaking and the skunk train.
Highly recommend for a peaceful visit with loved ones.

First of all, I’m not a fan of renting private properties due to some negative experiences we’ve had in the past. We were so delighted to find this home very clean and inviting. It is very well equipped and relaxing. The kitchen has everything you need and everything is spotless. The bed was very comfortable as well as the sheets (which I am extremely picky about). The views are beautiful and the seating is arranged perfectly. We will definitely be back. Thank you for sharing your lovely home.
P.S. The washcloths are great for exfoliating your skin, so I don’t know what the big deal is from other guests 😉

This house is one of the very few that I can say the pictures/description doesn't do it justice. Amazing views of the ocean from anywhere inside the house and outside the house. The rear deck, facing the ocean, is very spacious and had very comfortable outside furniture.
The house itself is located in a very quiet neighborhood, in a cul-de-sac, so no thru traffic. It was a quiet, peaceful place to just relax and enjoy nature.
The house was very clean, the beds were very comfortable, the 3 armchairs in the living room were comfortable and perfectly placed to just sit and get lost looking at the ocean. We had great views of pelicans hovering in the air, then diving down to catch fish.
The town, the house is in, is small, but we loved it since it never got busy, not too crowded, but had everything you might need, like grocery stores, gas stations, restaurants, etc. One of the grocery stores hosts a BBQ cookout every weekend and it looked/smelled awesome.
We can't wait to return to this house.

We wanted to treat my wife's parents to a relaxing view for Mothers Day. Great place and setup for an elderly couple to relax and stare at the ocean for a couple of days. Kitchen was well appointed for us to cook/prep meals for them during our stay. Beds were quite comfortable too (we prefer softer mattresses in general, which the upstairs was).

This property is just as advertised. Expect to see amazing views and delightful wildlife. Very comfortable accommodations from beds to easy chairs and neat and clean from top to bottom. We loved the kitchen! We will dream about this vacation and hope to visit again.

Things that come to mind:
Peace, relaxation, unbeatable view, and great location. Great access to town but yet far enough away for great privacy. Spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated. Well stocked kitchen and a real wood burning fireplace. A word about Nor CA and ants. I lived in Nor Cal for 20 years at 4 different locations, and each place would occasionally have ants. We had a few ants during our stay but they’re tiny and nothing to be concerned about. Cleanliness has nothing to do with ants, this place was spotless. You won’t find a better place at this price along the Mendocino coast.

The setting, perched just above the water, is spectacular. The house is very comfortable, neat and clean, and unbelievably well stocked. The owners must be wonderful folks. I can't imagine what one might need that isn't there. There is a pretty funky house next door that looks abandoned and that is more or less in the viewshed, but it seemed easy to pay no attention to it, looking out to sea. We enjoyed just lounging around, reading and watching the ocean. You'll love it!

We absolutely loved every minute of our stay. A very special, very clean, window-filled home in such a breathtaking location. The magic was around the clock, from daybreak (when the sun lit the calm ocean from the east), to daytime (when the ocean filled with dancing whitecaps in the wind), to sunset (when the ocean calmed again and the sun disappeared into the west). The amazing experience continued throughout our nights, with the sound of the crashing waves rising up the house's private cove and into the house. That was a nice surprise. What a way to sleep! And the beds were super comfy too. Also, the deck and chairs on the deck, and the chairs inside the house, allowed for hours of relaxing whale spotting. We saw literally dozens of whale spouts! Can't wait to be back!

This home is lovely. The ocean view is spectacular from the living room, bedrooms, and decks. The kitchen is very well stocked with everything you need. The little town of Gualala is quaint with restaurants and shops. We look forward to returning.

Unbelievably Relaxing!
You book this for the views, and they are even better in person, but the house is so well appointed and comfortable, I could've stayed forever. The sun shines on the patio all day, and the plexiglass walls keep the breeze to a minimum. There is plenty of seating out there. Inside the furniture is comfortable and it is quite spacious. We didn't cook, but the kitchen had lots of utensils and dishes. It's nice to have both a espresso & drip coffee maker. Entry and closing routine were simple and we just had such a great weekend I can't wait to come back again.

This house was perfect for my husband and I and my brother and his wife. The kitchen has everything you need, we all love to cook; so that is important. The beds were so comfortable and falling asleep to the sound of the ocean was wonderful. But the best part is that we were as close to the water as we have ever been. We saw whales- so many of them. Deer came to visit. The fenced yard for our dog was perfect too. We enjoyed this house more than any other one we have rented. We will be back!

All in all we would stay again.......the views makes it worth it!

Beautiful Otters Rest
This property was a wonderful get-away Vaca for our 4 nights there. The home is well kept, nicely equipped and in the most outstanding coastal bluff location. We are already planning to return!

My wife and I visited this home for three days at the end of January. We were pleasantly surprised how well equipped the house and kitchen were. We had a very enjoyable visit. It was totally relaxing. We will return.

This house and property was wonderful! A great location and view , quiet neighborhood , near to shops and grocery store. Everything in the house was top notch- great kitchen and appliances and beds were comfortable with nice blankets and sheets.

Location, location, location
Otters Rest might be in the best location of anywhere I have ever stayed. Those recliners positioned right in front of the windows? It's better than TV. The surf is mesmerizing, and changes every day, and throughout the day. The view itself makes this house a great choice. I saw a bald eagle one day. But it also has everything that you need to have a very comfortable stay: a very well-appointed kitchen, great beds, and a clean and bright layout. While the place feels quite remote. the two grocery stores that are nearly walking distance away will have everything you could need. We loved our Thanksgiving stay at Otters Rest and cannot wait to come back.
