"Diva"' apartment with unique atmosphere in a prime location
(Testo tradotto automaticamente) Un ampio, alto appartamento di 120 mq con 2 camere matrimoniali e 1 doppia splendidamente arredate in stile "operistico" - creando un'atmosfera di opulenza per rendere la vostra vacanza indimenticabile. Perfettamente situato accanto al Carré d'Art (dove il grande Nimes Teatro sorgeva) e romana "Maison Carré" tempio, questo è il posto per essere a Nimes. C'è una cucina completamente attrezzata, ampio bagno con doccia, vasca e lavabo e un WC separato con un altro lavandino. L'appartamento si affaccia su un rigoglioso giardino, una vera rarità nel centro di questa città storica. L'equipaggiamento include un sistema di TV a schermo "home cinema", un iPod HiFi docking station (compatibile con iPhone) e un "centro commerciale", completa di computer e banda larga ad alta velocità. Questa posizione si colloca all'interno di due minuti a piedi dalla "Fontaine Giardini", il meraviglioso 365 giorni di un mercato alimentare anno e una vasta gamma di ristoranti per mangiare all'aperto. Diva is spacious, light, well equipped, charmingly and richly decorated with opera memorabilia, terrifically well located, and a true home. We stayed for weeks and got more comfortable every day; some days hanging out, eating great food from the wonderful covered market, other days coming back content after excellent restaurant experiences. Gordon is a superb host, thoughtful and helpful in every way possible. This is not just a good place to stay, it's a hard place to leave!

Diva Nimes has the elegance and charm of a bygone era, with its’ spacious rooms, fanciful decor, and impressively high ceilings. There was plenty of space for us, a couple who both needed private work space as well as living space. The multiple bedrooms imply that a much larger group could be accommodated, but I must point out that there is only a single toilet. Like many grand dames, the apartment is showing her age a bit in wear and tear, but nothing that would keep me from giving it a high recommendation. This is because the location is beyond superb. Walk in any direction from the front door and you will be at a major attraction within minutes, if not seconds. This proximity greatly added to our enjoyment of discovering and exploring the delightful city of Nimes.

If you love opera and the arts this apartment is for you...even if you don't it's a great place to stay while in Nimes! Everything you need is right here! The location couldn't have been more perfect...steps to everything in the center of this amazing town! But the best part of this apartment is the host Gordon! He's attentive, interesting and fun! Highly recommend this apartment.

The Diva apartment was largely as represented in the photos and description, and was, in many ways, comfortable and well equipped. I was pleasantly greeted by the owner who provided a tour and a welcome basket of fresh fruit, baguette and other treats.The beds were comfortable and a closet-full of linens made hosting a few visiting friends easy.
However, the apartment does need some maintenance, especially several of the French windows and shutters, some of which appear to be warped and will no longer close securely. Minor deficiencies such as loose floor tiles, non-functioning lights, a stained, old kitchen sink, no window coverings in the bathroom, etc also let the place down.
The kitchen required a thorough scrub when I arrived and, while it's nice not to have to run out and buy olive oil and other staples on arrival, near-empty bottles of salad dressings and preserves with "best before" dates of three years earlier went straight into the garbage.
In fact, garbage was a problem too as, unlike most French apartment buildings, there was no room for garbage and recycling. While there were a few public receptacles in the passageway next door, they were usually full and one had to walk around the downtown area in search of others.
But the biggest let-down was the street noise, both the busy main road in front and from the passage beside, which was a main pedestrian route into the large underground parking lot, including large groups of drunk students.

The property is in a great area to access the centre of Nimes and all the Historic sights.
There is no air con and some shutters don't work so it does get very warm during late June
It is a city location so it is noisy and extra noisy during the music festival, however this is part of the cultural experience.

Gordon's Opera Inspired apartment is certainly quirky, but that just adds to the fun of the visit.
It is perfectly located for easy access to all the key locations in Nimes.
Gordan and Claudine were great to deal with.

Every aspect of the apartment pointed to Gordon's love of the opera - from the photos and posters on the walls, to the red and gold curtains in the hall and bedrooms. The beds were comfortable; the kitchen functional (we cooked a lot of meals); the living room spacious with really comfortable couch and chairs. Nîmes is a relatively small town and this location was central. The highlight was the Les Halles market just a few blocks away. Our only complaint was the Wi-Fi only worked in the living room/dining room area.

The apartment itself was worth visiting with its motifs of opera & ballet. Lots of character to the ambiance. It’s in a great location. Gordon meet us and explained all to us. Lots of shopping, groceries & restaurants nearby. As well as Roman amphitheater, and temple. Beds were very comfortable, lots of hot water and pressure. Parking was a breeze with a multi day pass, convenient to use and easy to obtain.

By far, the most unique and memorable place we stayed in France. The location was perfect for exploring the city as well as being an excellent base for our days trips. Parking was very convenient, but not free.

Great location and a lot of space. There is parking but it is city parking which you must pay for. We spoke with the manager in the parking and he showed us how to get a discount ticket if staying longer than one night.
We enjoyed the closeness to all things important in Nimes. I loved having the washer and dryer as well.

This is a fine, spacious apartment in an excellent location. The owner has decorated it tastefully and has equipped it to meet any traveler’s needs.
The best part of this apartment is its location. Less than a block’s walk will bring you to the Maison Carrée. Another five minutes will take you to the Arena. The old quarter of Nîmes is well supplied with excellent restaurants for all tastes.
The owner is genial and always available and really takes pride in this rental. If you’re visiting Nîmes, this is where you want to stay.

Diva-Nimes is a beautiful and unique place to stay in Nimes. Everything of top interest is in walking distance. The famous Halles market is steps away. Highly recommended.

Supplément d'âme
Que dire pour ne pas répéter ce qui a déjà été écrit... Nous ne pouvons que nous associer à ce concert de louanges. Séjourner à "Diva Nîmes", c'est se laisser glisser dans un univers parallèle. Nous avons ainsi vécu dans ce lieu une semaine hors du temps en compagnie de Puccini, La Callas, Noureïev... Gordon a su donner à cet immense appartement une âme, celle de l'opéra, mais il est aussi doté de tous les équipements et le confort nécessaires, enfin sa situation est centrale. Il a bien, si l'on en cherche, quelques défauts, mais ils ne sont rien en comparaison de ses innombrables Merci encore à Gordon, hôte d'une générosité et d'une courtoisie hors pair.

Un appartement unique à Nîmes
Nous avons séjourné du 1er au 15 juillet 2021 dans cet incroyable appartement entièrement décoré sous le thème de l'opéra. Il est tel que décrit sur le site. Un grand séjour, trois belles grandes chambres, une immense salle de bain et une cuisine où il ne manque rien. Il y a également à l'arrière un balcon avec une table et quatre chaises. Il donne certes dans une cour mais c'est bien agréable de s'y reposer après une journée de visite et pourquoi pas d'y prendre l'apéro.
L'appartement est situé au centre ville à côté de la Maison Carrée, en face du Carré d'Art et à deux pas de la vieille ville.
La communication avec Gordon a été très facile .Gordon est un Monsieur charmant, très a l'écoute. Nous avons été très bien accueillies . Nous avons passé un excellent séjour à Nîmes et dans cet appartement. Si nous revenons à Nîmes nous n'hésiterons pas à y séjourner de nouveau.

A Week in Nimes
Gordon is the perfect host. He introduced us to his apartment and gave us his best advice on restaurants. His best tip was the train trip to Aigues-Mortes, an out-of-the-way and hence authentic medieval walled town. The apartment’s proximity to everything is fantastic. The Maison Carré and Carré d’Arte are across the street as are the bus stops, pharmacies, coffee shops, etc. Exceptional restaurants are everywhere.
The apartment is very well stocked with linens and paper supplies. The kitchen has the necessary small appliances and dishes more than meet our needs. My favorite thing to do was to enjoy my morning coffee (a supply was provided), sitting at the kitchen counter, looking out the open kitchen window. Thanks, Gordon.
If I ever get back to Nimes (and I hope I do) I will stay want to stay at the Diva Apartment.

Siamo stati accolti sul posto dal sig. Gordon Smith che ci ha aiutato a portare i bagagli e ci ha illustrato l'abitazione nei dettagli.
L'appartamento è situato in zona centralissima, a pochi metri dalla celebre maison careee, è molto pulito e ampio.
L'arredamento è estremamente particolare, direi unico, l'ideale per amanti dell'opera e della musica classica. Ci sono numerosi interessanti libri sulla storia dell'Opera e sui teatri e altrettanti dvd.
Il proprietario è molto gentile e disponibile, informatissimo sull'Opera e lieto di condividere le sue conoscenze.
Comodissimo il parcheggio sotterraneo a pochi metri dall'ingresso dell'appartamento, dove si può ottenere una tessera a prezzo forfettario per la durata del soggiorno.

The property is as advertised - a little quirky in a good way, fantastic location near everything of interest, parking next door. Train station a 10 min walk away so easy access to Avignon and Montpelier. Gordon was an excellent host and we had no issues getting in and out of the property.

Hemos pasado cinco días en este precioso apartamento. Tres adultos con dos perritas. El apartamento es muy grande, con todos los detalles para disfrutar de la estancia. La altura es de un primero, con unas escaleras grandes, espaciosas y cómodas para subir. La decoración es preciosa, inspirada en la ópera. Los techos son altos y le dan al apartamento un aire de grandeza operística. Gordon, el anfitrión, nos ayudó en todo lo que necesitamos. Ha sido todo perfecto y genial. A la cocina no le falta de nada, el baño es inmenso, el salón muy cómodo, ... Volveremos en cuanto podamos.

A welcomed break
Two friends and myself recently returned from a four day stay at this wonderful apartment.
We were met by Gordon who was both helpful and informative. The apartment was was in a great location within walking distance to everything.
There were so many interesting things around the apartment, so much character. There was nothing better after a long day of sightseeing and travelling than to return to one of the wonderful CD's on offer, soft lights and a night cap. Oh and such comfortable beds. Thank you so much...I feel we will return.
