However the furniture and the house on the pics looks like brand new, when you get to the house it's actually really old. Some mattresses had rips, when you move the beds there is dirt old wrappers (cleaning company doesn't do a great job). The house is great, location etc. but the house furniture etc is old!

Very spacious and cozy house. We all really liked it. We were 8 adults and 7 kids. Not only we had lots of space we still had room for couple of more people. I wish there a little more privacy in front of the house as it's too open and close to the main road but overall a fantastic place to spend a weekend with family! Btw, the rental company was really great to work with. Patrice was really really helpful and accomodative. A big thanks for her!

The basement was the best part of the house with a pool table, video arcade and a tv where we were able to set up karaoke that we brought. The only issue I had was that there is hardly anything in the house. We had to bring everything from toilet paper, garbage bags to our own sharp knives and cutting boards. We were totally prepared to do so, however they didn't even have salt or sugar so we ended up having to buy spices which I have never experienced. I have used this site to stay everywhere from NY to Hawaii and this was the least stocked house that I've ever rented. For the cost, I would expect a spice rack. Other than that, I would highly recommend this property for a family with children or for adults who just wanted to relax.

The cabin actually is better looking in person and even though we planned on a bigger group of people we would have still had more than enough space. We were pretty close to Big Boulder for skiing and a few good restaurants. The kitchen was updated since pics. We took advantage of the hot tub and games. the only complaint is that the lower level got pretty cold but it was also like 10 degrees out during the night we were there.

Had a great stay at Black Bear. There was 8" of the snow the day we arrived. When we pulled up the driveway was plowed and the steps and deck were shoveled. 8 adults and 7 kids all had a bed a to sleep in and plenty of room in the house so we were not on top of one another. Kids had first floor with game room and the adults had the second floor to hang out on. House was clean, gas grill fired up with an extra tank on hand. Hot tub was clean and working as well. All in all we had a blast. Would definitely recommend for families with younger kids.

Reviewer Comments: all was good. of course propane tank ran out in the middle of food cooking so we had to finish it on the stove top. i feel biggest problem every year we come there is the grill. Its either a disgusting mess, a burner doesnt work, or it runs out of propane. the jacuzzi worked good which has always been a hit or miss for us too

I was in between this house and another house but I am so glad I chose this one! Hot tub, pool table and PAC man game was a hit! The house had all the essentials you could need, we didn't need to go out and buy anything additional for the kitchen. No soap or toilet paper in any of the bathrooms though! The beds had blankets and pillows without pillow cases FYI! (If you choose the no linen option.) So you only need sheets and pillows cases! Jim Thorpe city is very close and the cutest town, definitely make the trip out there if you can. I had a question about the fire place upstairs and I called/emailed Pocono mountain rental and never got a response to my concern. To dispose of trash you need to drive 2 miles down the road with the trash in your car? Those were my only problems with renting the house, but the house itself was amazing!
