We showed up to contractors everywhere, in the driveway and all around the house. This did not end through our stay. The house was filthy! Cable was less than basic 7-10 channels then 120 less than basic channels, the outside lights pool/boat lift lighting broken, front lights not there. Verbo, would not help me find another place, then when I called back and told them what was going on with the contractors there every day, I was yelled at and told I should have called sooner, and they would have helped me and relocated me. When I told them I did call and was told to deal with the host, again I was told they would not do anything I needed to deal with the host. I asked them to call the host and ask them to have the contractors leave and not show back up until I was gone, they would not. I was then asked to leave by the host, after complaining. I had no place to go and all the places available were out of my budget, Verbo would not help. This was supposed to be a restful time enjoying a heated salt pool (which was broke) between cancer treatments for my husband and ended up being a nightmare of construction and no rest. The pool was dirty with bird poop in & out and after the lanai contractor came, it was full of metal shavings all over/in the pool and the pool area, the dock and surrounding area. There was no respect for our time, money or peace! This home should not have been put on the site until ALL construction was done. The description of this house was NOT what we got!!

We were looking for a quiet and relaxing weekend away from our busy lives and this house was exactly that. Fishing right out of the backyard was exactly what we needed to recharge.

Patricias property was absolutely perfect. It had everything we needed. The pool was beautiful with lots of floaties. The location is so peaceful. Would definitely rent again.

We checked in early and we loved the house and the nice heated pool right on the water absolutely gorgeous caught a fish in 5 minutes ! Grilled some local fresh fish Beautiful kitchen ,bathrooms spotless ! Can’t wait to go back ! Patrica was a fabulous host An absolute 10 !

We had a wonderful time at this location for an Easter long weekend. While not our first time staying on Pine Island, it was one of our favorite stays to date. Patricia was a great host and had great communication. The canal had easy access to water and usage with a boat and the pool was great for the kids. Overall, we definitely recommend this property!!!

Excellent home to book for a relaxing vacation. Fishing right out the back door was a big hit. Don’t forget to bring bug spray. Internet went down briefly and owner worked diligently to get it restored. Pool was enjoyable and is where we spent most of our time. Friendly neighbors when we seen them. Lots of room to move in this home. It was a good Christmas getaway! Would book again.

We stayed 6 nights and boating, fishing, biking, pool, comfy beds, clean and beautiful home. The neighborhood was quiet and beautiful. I truly did not want to leave.

Just stayed one night. The ability to rent short term while in town on business was perfect.

I rented this place for a family vacation to visit family that live in the area. The house was nice as we got there just minor things as read in the previous reviews that remains the same like a door that doesn’t close and the “heated” pool which was as cold as it could be even when it was covered during the night as directed. Overall the experience was ok the first night, we enjoyed the outdoor views and the opportunity to spend some family time. The next day about 3 pm we received a text message from the owner stating that we had “violated the house rules” and that we had to leave the house in the next 15 mins, since she was on her way with the police. Immediately we called her and tried to figure out the situation since we were absolutely in shock and not understanding what was happening. The owner stated that we had violated the rules by staying more than 10 ppl overnight and being loud, I explained her that we didn’t had any extra guest overnight since my fam live in the area and they returned to their houses about 11pm and came again in the morning with their kids, and I even asked her why nobody called the police that night or why she didnt called me then if that was the case?, but no clear answer to that was given. She also stated that “there were kids being loud in the pool” again I explained to her that first of all it was a fam-friendly house according to the description provided not “adults only”, therefore I didn’t see the part were we broke the house rules and 2nd they are kids… there ARE supposed to be loud because they were enjoying the pool… Anyways after a long conversation trying to talk and explain her that we were not from the area tht we lived hrs away and that we didn’t had a place stay, plus that we had kids she kept saying that we broke the house rules and that we had to leave right away and that the police was 1 mile away. After all that nightmare and only thinking about the kids I even offered her to charge us a fee or a penalty for whatever reason she had in order to let us stay and again her answer was no. I called VRBO and they said “owners can decide when to cancel the reservation and therefore you you have to leave since you dont have any rights as traveler” Long story short, she didn’t gave me any money back, I had to rent a last minute hotel overpriced , kids were devastated and we were so embarrassed with our family, we felt robbed, and disgusted and so disappointed. Never again this house never again VRBO

I can't speak to the INSIDE of this property. We booked this house as a family vacation. Our kids were so excited about the fishing and the pool. When we arrived there were people already inside the house. They said they had spoken to the owner directly and she said they could stay longer. Obviously I had my confirmation and I paid UPFRONT. I called the owner and she stated she was out of the country ON VACATION and she could NOT solve my problem. She then hung up on me!!! He daughter did call me and attempt to find out why her mother double booked the house. We all left in tears, kids were devastated because they didn't get a vacation and we had to drive 2.5 hours home. Worst experience ever!! I pray we get ALL OF OUR MONEY BACK AND THEN SOME!! If you are an owner DON'T book guests privately AND with a rental agency.

The pool was great! Caught fish off the dock. Easy access for your boat. The owner was very nice and helpful.

This place was great! Awesome pool and view of the canal was awesome! We even saw manatees swimming in the canal! Caught a ton of fish from the canal. Definitely will stay again. Next time we will rent a boat also. Just a short boat ride to Sanibel and Captiva Island!

The property was nice and in a great location. The host was easy to keep in contact with and made checking in and out easy. The only downfall is the shower in the one bathroom wasn’t working properly, there was hair on the shelf in the shower, the curtains in the master bedroom were broken, and there were ants on the counter. All of those things were minor and we still really enjoyed our stay, just a better cleaning process or a little maintenance would help make this cute place a 5 star!

Lovely neighborhood, clean house, great access to Sanibel & Captiva

The house is located in a quiet neighborhood with easy access to the Gulf. From the canal, we weren’t far from great fishing spots, Sanibel Island, and Cayo Costa. The house is comfortable and functional. The pool is fun and relaxing. We enjoyed eating our meals on the back patio and cooling off in the pool with views of the canal, passing boats, dolphins, and manatees. The home owner is helpful, easy to communicate with, and renting for just a long weekend was available. We would definitely keep this house in mind for another trip in the future.

House worked out great for us. Boat lift was a huge plus for the week. Easy route to sound. Pool was great as well. House in very nice condition , clean and well equipped. Patricia was great to work with. Plan to stay again.

Every thing was awesome girls caught lots of fish......they were delighted weather was perfect. Loved getting around the island.quiet and peaceful neighborhood. Nothing more to want for!

This house is a unique Florida experience. The quiet island life along with the option of getting on the water is very appealing. We recommend setting up boat or water sports ahead of time. The pool was great!

My husband and I packed up our 2 small dogs, left Chicago and enjoyed 2 weeks in St James City! We worked the first week remotely while taking breaks to fish, walk, swim and ride bikes. The 2nd week we golfed, rented a boated, had friends join us a few days, shopped and dined in Matlacha, went to the fish markets, cooked, read books and hiked the wild life preserve. Pat, was a great host and responded to our every need! We would definitely go back!

I would stay here again if the owner would provide kayaks and bikes that are in working order. The bathrooms were very nice and updated and we loved having the pool and use of the boat lift. The owner was easy to work with and flexible. She allowed us to stay an extra night at the last minute so we did appreciate that. We loved the location.
