We really enjoyed our stay. The home is very comfortable.

Although the linens and kitchen were clean, the upstairs is almost unlivable if you are allergic to mold and mildew. The smell is overwhelming. Maybe in the winter when the heat has been on consistently the smell may dissapate, but in October it was almost unbearable if you are sensitive to smells.

There are a few downsides to the area for those looking for total peace & quiet: there's a holiday park at the end of the road, with ATVs and dirt bikes in the summer, and a cement company road across the river which is busy in the summertime. There are also abandoned properties around the house -- none of these things are in the owner's control, of course. Everything that is, is very nice. Lots of beds, comfortable sofas, a good kitchen and dining space, a deck with two grills. And the house is located conveniently for day trips all around the area.

We are very fortunate to find this adorable cottage while we were transitioning after selling our home. This cute little house is everything and more. The only thing we brought was our clothes and never needed anything else! The owner, Rich, was extremely responsive and great to deal with. The neighborhood is very quiet with a beautiful view of the Delaware River cross the street.

The property can use some upgrades. The bathrooms are dated and rusty in some places. The carpet is very old as are the beddings, bath towels, hand towels, etc. The a.c. units have layers of visible dirt as does the ceiling fan(s). The abandoned properties on either side are not pleasant to look at and very overgrown and the river water level was very low. We could not fish in it from our spot, it was pretty to look at though. It may be better in the winter. It also would have been nice to have some chairs and a table for the deck outside , there was 1 plastic chair and 2 folded metal chairs . There were 9 of us staying altogether, the grill was nice but like I said no outdoor seating.

Last minute happy I got it , just what I needed , just wish there were lawn chairs , a hose and more kitchen supplies like more pots and pans and spices .

Some of these comments complain about being in between two abandoned houses which is true, but it was not creepy or really overgrown. There are neighbors just a few doors down. We preferred no neighbors since we hung out in the large yard and the deck most of the night listening to music. The house had all you needed and was clean. All bathrooms worked well and were clean and stocked with towels. It was nice having the river across the street. We really enjoyed this stay. We chose this home because we spent the weekend kayaking/rafting @ the Delaware River in matamoras PA which was only about a 35 min drive away. Nice house ! Would stay again !

It was very old house. The doors were taped together only 1 bathroom was usable. House is located between two houses that are abandoned and overgrown with brush. Not a real safe location.

The house had 2 floors 1st floor is nice second okay. But I loved that it had grill and a patio and river front access so overall we enjoyed it.

I have photos to back this up: The house sits on a street of several abandoned houses +between two of them. Both houses are a real hazard (one is so bad a tree is growing out of the roof)! House smells bad. Aired it out, still smells.Bathtub had moldy mat - replaced by owner when we complained, but indicates lack of upkeep. Ceiling in one bath coming down at corner. Bedroom door panel held on with clear tape. Post its covering bathroom keyholes (Why?). Water filter to house was so clogged pressure was way down - fixed by owner as soon as we said, but we had been drinking nasty water! Found a set mouse trap in linen closet (under towel, could have been hurt). Basement (laundry) is nasty. Driveway needs more gravel, turns to mud puddle at slightest sprinkle. The Holiday fun center at end of the street has motor bikes, you hear the noise all the time. This rental is about 20 years past its prime. We would have left but owner would not refund us. After we left. all our clothes stank like the house had to wash them twice. If it snows less than 4 inches, you have to shovel. Garbage only picks up one of the three cans a week, attracting "wild life" to the other two. The internet, tv and cell phone service is bad, cuts out often. This was the nastiest place we ever stayed, and we couldn't get out!

Perfect vacation getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life. Nice little cafes, bagel, and pizza eateries nearby. Monticello bagel bakery is super!

This house was really nice and Well kept, the toilet leaked and Rich had a Plumer out within an hour on a Sunday. We really enjoyed our stay highly recommend this property

My family and I really enjoyed the home and surrounding area. The home contained everything we need for a much-needed vacation.

It was a beautiful experience for my family staying in the property for three nights. We did enjoy our stay and the property manager was very helpful and courteous.

This house was amazing, owner explained everything so well. Spacious house, beautiful scenery, just like in the pictures, owner was very easy to reach. We stayed for 8 days and was just perfect.

Fantastic property, with lots of privacy. We were there for an extended weekend and absolutely loved the area. We went to the Mysteryland Festival and couldn't beat the convince. The homeowners made it super easy to book and answered all our questions quickly. Great getaway location for anyone looking for a quick escape. Planning another visit next year.

My wife and two kids went for a week to get away out of the city. I was VERY surprised by how nice the house was! The kitchen is nicely done and the furnishings are very tasteful. There is a nice fireplace in the living room. There is one large bathroom and a 2ND smaller bathroom on the 1st floor of the house along with the master bedroom. Upstairs there are 2 additional bedrooms (queen beds) and a hallway galley bed (a twin mattress). There is also a small 1/2 bath upstairs as well which was very convenient. They have a basement that has a washer and dryer if you need it. The basement is unfinished but it's not like you spend time there. The furnace and oil tank are down there as well. The WiFi worked great but cell service can be spotty. I have Verizon and sometimes I would lose signal. My wife has AT&T and hers worked fine with no issues. The big draw for me was the Neversink river right in the front yard. I love to fly fishing and rarely get the chance. There is a set of stairs that lead right down to the river in the front yard! Also they allow pets so my dog (yellow lab) could come! I caught about 25 trout (mostly Browns but a couple Rainbows) on the 1st two days using dry flies. Nothing huge, biggest one was 13 inches, but there were plenty of them. My son was with me and used a spinning rod and caught fewer fish but they were larger on average. After fishing, we went to Holiday Mountain Ski & Fun Park. I was very surprised by how many things to do there was! Batting cages, go-carts, a rock wall, mini golf and bumper boats. The kids had a great time. The best part is you can simply walk down the road to the park. I was surprised to see there is skiing and snowboarding in the winter. There will definitely be a return trip this winter, since the lift ticket prices were about $25 for the day and there are lights for night skiing! Not much negative to say about the house. There are 2 empty houses on either side. One looks like it's been empty for a long time. But we met several people who live on the road while taking a walk and they were very nice. About half the road (maybe 10 houses) have permanent residents and the other half are small vacation homes. The house is only an hour and 45 mins from us in NYC, so the convenience is beyond great. The owners are super nice and keep the house very clean. We will definitely go back!
