I rent this property every year because it is such a find! It’s the perfect space for a family or friends getaway and get some quality lake time!

We enjoyed our week-long family reunion (July, 2022) at this wonderful property on Lake Blaisdell. The area is beautiful, the lake is clean, we enjoyed the plentiful boats, and the comfy common areas. It has some pros-cons that savvy guests should anticipate. My family was charged the damage deposit.
Pros:
1. Very responsive host, left candies for the kids on arrival, which was a very appreciated first impression.
2. Large common space areas
3. Large modern grill on the balcony.
4. Paddle boards and kayaks available for use.
5. The house is set away from the lake up a short hill, which we considered a plus, as it is much quieter than properties directly on the water (loons can be loud, so can the occasional power boats).
6. The bunk room is perfect for four kids (two bunk beds) as it is set off on one end of the house away from the living room.
Cons:
1. One bathroom. Not a big problem.
2. There is an impressive antique stove setup, but my sister ended up singeing a small section of the adjacent countertop because the temperature and flame was difficult to regulate. This was a cause for our damage deposit to be retained, a justification we disagree with.
3. There are knick-knacks on every shelf in every corner, everywhere. The decor is beautiful and charming to look at, but impractical for renters especially with children, as you may get charged if you move anything. We had four young children who immediately dove into the boardgames and the bags of legos and other toys (who wouldn't?!). It took us parents 3 hours the evening before, and 4 hours on check-out day to find and clean everything, but the host still charged us for extra cleaning services. The charge is significant, and made us feel like we could have better used those seven hours of our vacation. But our family really takes pride in cleaning up: We had every single plate and cup cleaned, every sheet and towel down at the laundry station, every floor swept and vacuumed, every kid's toy back in its original basket or box in its original room, all the lake side boats and life vests organized, all trash and recycling collected, bagged, and deposited in bins... I mean, one really needs to prepare for a major cleaning effort, and even then, it might not be enough for this owner. The owner will no doubt offer a long list of damaged property to justify retaining the deposit... it's up to renters to decide if the risk is worth it.

This was our 3rd year staying this property, it’s perfect for a large group! We always have fun swimming the the beautiful lake, using all the provided water sport equipment, grilling and roasting marshmallows at the fire pit! Secluded location, and a very fun neighborhood!

A wonderful private spot! The lake and all water amenities was more than we could’ve expected for being such a rustic, out-of-the-way location. Although the path to the lake is steep, it added to the genuine experience. The house itself has a story all in its own. No AC, but that would’ve been a modern drawback to such a unique historical place. We all just loved it! Already talking about returning!

Our stay on Lake Blaisdale was beyond our expectations! The house could not have been more perfect for our family and friends. As soon as you walk through the door this feeling of peace and comfort comes over you. The house was clean and cozy!!
We had only a couple of concerns and Stacey took care of them right away. She was easy to get in contact with and she always answered quickly.
The boat house by the water was a huge bonus. It was filled with anything you would want at a lake house. The water was very warm and inviting. We highly recommend this home

A wonderful place for our family reunion
We used this lake house to meet in a comfortable setting where those who wanted to be active could be active and those who wanted to hang out could hang out. Dinners were great get-together events as were nightly card games: the house served our needs wonderfully. The reviews complaining about the steepness of the path are off base - it’s a bit steep but easily negotiated by the plus 70 members of our group. There were a few glitches (gas grill was broken, coffee maker too) but they were minor things : we loved our stay.

A Lake Getaway we Look Forward to Every Year!
Stacey’s place is perfect for a large group, it has tons of water sports and a floating dock. The lake is very clean, and the cabin sleeps many people comfortably, this was our second summer here and we are already looking forward to next year! Stacey is very helpful, flexible, and quick to respond!

nice time with family
Despite the weather not being the best we enjoyed our stay - the kayaks, canoe and paddle board were a hit with all our kids as well as swimming out to the floating dock. The water was warm and fishing good (-: We enjoyed all the seating down at lake and the fire pit. Plenty of room at the house to spread out and also sit together for dinners at the big table.

The house has everything you might need. We only had to bring enough clothes for the week. We took full advantage of the kayaks and canoe. We didnt even mind the hike to and from the lake - our only exercise for the week:)

Beautiful lake
The lake was perfect for swimming and fishing. The kids in our party were all over the age of 8 and they enjoyed the hike through the woods to get to the lake. If they were any younger the hill down and back up would have been very difficult. The lakefront had a nice cabin, steps to walk into the water for swimming, and a dock for fishing. The house was clean and well stocked. The kids loved hanging out in the loft and the adults loved the screen porch. The homeowner was communicative and easy to work with. We would definitely return again in the future.

In full disclosure, the owner withheld a portion of our deposit even after, per her request, we did all of the laundry (towels and sheets). because we were not out until 9:10 to be exact. We booked the reservation with a noon check out and the owner changed it to 9 am. I will say the cabin is attractive at first glance but it is so full of 'stuff' that it quickly became very uncomfortable for our stay. The cabin is dark and many of the lamps/lights did not work. The fans available were insufficient and loud and the bedrooms were sweltering for most nights. The kitchen was extremely disorganized and crowded, there was no place no to put our food away without moving stuff out of the way. The stove gives off a constant heat and gas smell. The fridge had other people's food in it. The kitchen is missing essential items (like mixing bowls and pans) or they were too hard to find. Lots of broken stuff like windows, screens, the vac cleaner, doors that didn't open, fans, a piano, even beach toys and can openers!Don't rent this place unless you are a pretty good hill climber. The path to the lake is steep and awkward. No such thing as a "refreshing" dip since it requires a strenuous return up the hill.Don't rent this place if you have children of any age. They will cost you your security deposit! Games and toys were everywhere with an excess of small parts! Toddlers or teens might drop something on the floor, or move a pillow or push a piece of furniture slightly out of place. There are dozens of pillows piled on every piece of furniture, including beds, be sure you put each one back where you found it. If your young child is inquisitive, bring some kind of tape to seal dressers and drawers that do not lock. Don't move anything, not even the glass gizmos on every surface or pictures that are falling off the wall. If your teen sleeps in, leave the night before. And don't expect the tv setup to work without a visit from the cable guy.

Amazing stay on the lake!
Our two families of tweens and teens had a wonderful week. The cabin was very spacious but we spent most of the time down on the lake fishing and using the many toys that came with the property. We fished, kayak, sailed, swam, watched the stars, grilled by the lake, and roasted s’mores. Stacey was a gracious host who communicated quickly with any questions and requests. Couldn’t have had a better time!

Had a wonderful time!
We had a wonderful week on Blaisdell lake! The cottage was very spacious and was the perfect size for 11 of us. The lake is very quiet and so clean/clear! There were plenty of kayaks and a canoe to fish off of. We caught a good amount of nicer sized bass and some small sun fish. We thought the one bathroom would be an issue, but it actually wasn’t a problem. The hike down to the water is a bit rough and there was a bit of complaining about the sweating and heavy breathing on the way back up. If you have older people or anyone with knee problems this may not be the spot for you, but if you like feeling like you are on a hike in the woods and taking in the wonderful pine smell then this one is for you!
The owner was wonderful and super easy to work with! We will hopefully be back again!

Just what we were looking for!
My friends and I stayed here for 5 nights for the Fourth of July and had such a great time. The owner was very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. The house has an awesome log cabin, old school feel (having a been a girls' camp in the 30s). The private beach area with the fire pit, screen house, and floating dock were perfect for s'mores by the fire at night and swimming/water activities during the day. The whole place was very clean and checking in/out was a breeze. Easy to communicate with the owner and is willing to help with any issues that might come up. Will likely be renting again!

Week stay with 9/10 year old girls
We had a great week at this wonderful NH Lake house. The house was the right combination of rustic and modern. The two better bedrooms are upstairs and the one bath is down but it wasn't really an issue even for my 75 year old mother who came up for the night. The lake is the perfect size, big enough for space and privacy but not crowed with boats there were more people on the lake with paddles than with motors and it was super quiet at night other than the loons. The house is up on a hill with a bit of a walk down to the lake but it worked well and was never an issue the owner was generous and helpful. She recommended a place to rent some extra paddle boards in town that were delivered and an extra treat (they got lots of use). We had one overcast day and she also recommended the Montshire Museum in Hanover which ended up being a great way to spend an afternoon. We were very happy with the vacation and may well go back. We especially like the distance from Boston (less than 2 hours) which made having people come up to visit easy as well as a short drive each way for us.

Relaxing Family Getaway
Perfect place for a family gathering at the lake. Beautiful log cabin with a whole lot of character and history to boot. Swim Dock and plenty of Kayak's and fishing equipment for all. The opportunity to try windsurfing was a bonus! Cooking big family meals was easy with the 6 burner stove and built in griddle that allowed pancakes for 10 all at one time in addition to a table that seated us all! The separate bunk area was great for kids (In our case teens) and gave them their own space to spread out. Comfortable beds and linens in the bedrooms and loft and a screened in porch for early morning tea. It is a little walk down to the private beach and boat house, which is also a very cool spot for teenagers and young adults at night, but the beautiful view and relaxing private waterfront location is worth the walk for sure. We had a wonderful time and definitely hope to return.

Glad we chose this lakehouse.
Communication was great with the owner. If you're the type of person that likes to stay busy, there were 3 kayaks, a canoe, a windsurfing set-up, a small sailboat, fishing poles, a piano, plenty of board games and other activities too. If you just like to relax, the house is large and cozy. The furniture is comfortable. Down by the water, there was a picnic table, charcoal grill, hammock, and an assortment of chairs. There is a small cabin by the water with two Futons, a small fridge, and plenty of supplies for water fun. We had a lot of guests come and go, but usually had about 7 adults and 5 kids on the property, although two of the adults slept on the Futon down by the lake. The house never felt crowded. The walk down to the lake is more than you might expect, uphill on the way back and lighted if you stay up to watch the sunset and cook Smores over the fire. If you have someone in your group with mobility issues, getting them to and from the lake will be a chore. You won't get a signal if your cell is AT&T, but Verizon seemed to work fine. There is also wifi in the main house. The lake is not too large nor too busy. Great for kids and teens to explore without having to worry about them too much. The water was a good temp for swimming in mid to late July.
