The cabin is basic with all rudimentary necessities. The deck literally in the stream is a wonderful place to hang out. Very private even though other cabins are nearby.

I loved the place. It had personality and if it was warmer (I went in early March) i would have loved to keep the windows open to fall asleep to the sound of the creek right outside.

Overall the cabin was cozy. Plumbing could use updating as shower leaks and does not stop which causes stale water to pool in bathtub. Did not report this because it has clearly been like this and was not an overnight fix. Other than that the cabin is in a great location, beautiful creek runs beside deck, and the kitchen is well stocked with pots/pans/dishes/utensils.

Very accurate directions we’re provided by email that walked you right through the door where we were welcomed by a warm lit cabin. Didn’t have any reason to contact owner and everything was how it should be. Excellent service!

We had the best time at this cabin. The creek right outside is so peaceful, then throw in the hot tub!!! WOW!!

We were comfortable enough at the property but it could definitely use a good deep cleaning - we cleaned cobwebs out of lamp shades and off the walls. You can definitely tell this property needs to be upgraded. The area around the property seems a bit run down.

This property was the best. The cabin had so much character. The fireplace ambiance was inviting and kept us warm. Loved the hot tub it was super hot and relaxing. Listening to the flowing creek was so relaxing. And the view incredible. Place was clean and massive. Primary bed was so comfortable. Easy to get to. Beautiful time. Host was friendly and accommodating. Definitely coming back. My go to place in Asheville.

The house itself needs quite a bit of work but that did not stop us from enjoying ourselves. We enjoyed the privacy and puppers loved watching the birds and critters from the back deck. PLEASE DO NOT POST MY NAME OR THIS REVIEW.

The process to rent very easy. Emails with instructions fine. The cabin itself needs major repairs and updates.

Overall our experience was solid at the property. Although nothing was filthy or dirty, a lot of cob webs and smelly sewage system gave the impression no one has stayed here for months.

We enjoyed this property for the weekend. Beautiful views and hot tub right on the water. The place did have spiders and webs around the house but was generally clean. Great property and we would recommend at this price point.

If you are looking for a beautiful location, and a very relaxing time in a lovely vintage cabin then this is the place! All your immediate needs are met as the cabin is well stocked. Very comfortable with breathtaking views. We appreciate the ability to bring our fur babies with us. They had a great time as well.

We had a wonderful stay in Candler! The home was warm and comfortable. The creek running behind the home was so relaxing. After a day in Asheville, 25 minutes to a hot tub in the forest. Perfection. Much thanks for a lovely weekend.

My husband and I were looking for a quiet getaway to provide some rest for a few days before we toured Asheville. While the cabin was in a remote quiet location, and the owners were fabulous, we were hoping for a bit more relaxing atmosphere. The cabin could have used a few updates to make it more enjoyable. The beds and bedding left a bit to be desired. Not great on the back, and it squeaked horribly with the slightest bit of movement. The only other thing I would suggest to travelers is to be sure to bring beach towels you wish to use the hot tub. Overall it was quaint and I’m sure an amazing place if you were looking for a place to “glamp” and hike the beautiful countryside. Joey and Eric were wonderful to take care of our one issue!!

We had a lovely stay with my spouse and our dog. The hot tub on the deck and the sound of the creek below was perfection!

This could be a great property. The setting on the creek is unique. The location is good. BUT....the amenities you expect for $$$ a night are sub standard. The house is damp and has a musty odor. (there is a portable dehumidifier which runs full time, but does not dry the whole house). There are three small window air conditioners that blow cool air, but don't remove the humidity. (They were also not clean and left a bad smell while on.) If you need heat, you will have to move the 2 portable electric radiators into the rooms to warm you up. The gas stove does not work properly. The oven has not been cleaned since who knows when. The shower is stained from one end to the other (caused by leaky faucet, which stills leaks). The bathrooms have a sewer like smell. Stains on the ceilings. Water or mold.The chairs on the back deck were so dirty, they were green with mildew. The beautiful rocking chairs in the front were dirty to the touch. On the plus side ...the hot tub and wifi worked. Obvious lack of maintenance and overall cleanliness. Had my schedule allowed, I would have left after the first night. The owners comments over the years say they are updating something every year. That is hard to believe!. The description of the property is misleading and deceiving. It's a shame there is no oversight by VRBO, so let the buyer beware.
