The property is well done overall. It has a vintage movie fan decor. Location is good with tons of restaurants nearby and close to Venice Beach. Walkable neighborhood appears to be very safe.
Note should be made for short people, and people with mobility problems that in order to get into the tub/shower, you have to go over a ledge that is more than 2' above the floor. Also, there is only street parking, 2 hour limit, and one morning a week, you must have your car elsewhere for at least 4 hours. We could not get the TV to work, as you must know how to use Roku.
Ample hot water through a tankless water heater.
Overall a good property for a summer stay.

The location is great - convenient but off main roads so it’s not overly busy or crowded. The owner is super responsive and helpful, and the house is well outfitted and a delight to stay in. We enjoyed it very much!

My daughter and I had a great stay at this cute house on Zanja St. Our host Spencer was in contact at the beginning and end of the stay, and made himself available as needed. The house is lovely and clean, providing open space to land at after a day in the city. It felt like a "home away from home", and we would love to return upon future visits to Los Angeles.

It is convenient for all local amenities and the local buses are great for Venice and Santa Monica.

Just back from a 4 night stay at this comfortable, well appointed and cozy house. We were 3 adults and one 25 lb pup and the space was perfect. Much larger than it looks in the photos - while we did not really cook in the kitchen it had everything we would need and lots of space. The main sitting room was very comfortable, bath was large and the tub was great. Bed in master bedroom very comfortable. The futon was fine for one person, we did not use the air mattress. Decor was clean, LA appropriate and just enough to make you feel like you were in a home and not a hotel. Everything was organized and the yard was clean and well tended to.
Spenser was the perfect host and his canine buddy, Mijo, was sweet and friendly. Our pup would have played with him constantly if allowed. Parking was readily available out the front door and the entry system worked great. One of the best VRBO rentals we have stayed in. Thank you Spenser.
We will most definently stay here again when we visit LA area.

Fantastic space, kitchen and location. Even an easy to use television. I made a Thanksgiving turkey to bring to my daughter's in this great kitchen and it was delicious! The owner is helpful and gracious. Very well stocked house. We will be back!

We had a fantastic VRBO experience at this property. The landscaping is gorgeous in the front and back of the house. The home interior is beautiful and we all loved the decor. The house was spotless when we arrived, which is always a big plus. Beyond all that, the instructions for entry were excellent and fool proof, as were the instructions for where stuff (like toilet paper) was stored, or how to operate the dishwasher. Nothing was left to chance. We would stay at this property again in a heartbeat! One thing I'd like to pass on to future renters is you should check out the "26 Beach Restaurant". Fantastic food!

The amount of care that went into the kitchen and bath remodels is obvious, with high-quality surfaces, fixtures and appliances that I would be happy to have in my own home. The bedrooms are more ordinary but perfectly serviceable...we didn't come here to hang out in the bedrooms, so to speak, so not a big deal to us.
Backyard and landscaping are very attractive, though we didn't spend much time there. Spencer was in the guest house during our stay, and he was a very friendly and gracious host...our only regret is not getting to meet Mijo, his famous canine sidecar-riding partner! We would definitely stay here again the next time we're in the area, thanks for sharing your house with us!

The house was gorgeous, just as pictured and so close to everything we needed. Spencer is an amazing host. He is so friendly and helpful with anything we needed and travel ideas. We will definitely stay again!

Cute bungalow close-ish to Venice Beach
I was looking for someplace to have casual debrief time after meetings in Los Angeles, and this was perfect. 3 of us stayed in 2 bedrooms and we were able to have other people over to visit. Place felt very airy and spacious even though it wasn't huge. Very thoughtfully stylish and well maintained. Great little backyard with hammock and chairs for yet another area of us to hang out. Master bedroom had queen bed for two, I slept in 2nd bedroom and slept on the futon, which was a bit hard on the hips. Should have not been so lazy, and should have set up the air mattress instead, so that's on me. Very close to lots of great restaurants, shops and not too far (mile-ish?) from Venice Beach. We'll come again.

House was beautiful and in a great location. Very updated kitchen and everything was SUPER clean Very close to Venice Beach and Santa Monica Pier. Owner was very helpful on suggestions of places to eat. EVERY meal we had was AMAZING thanks to him. Master bed was a little uncomfortable and kind of loud. I didn't want to move during the night, afraid to wake up my partner. It should be mentioned in the description that the owner lives on the premises and the backyard was shared. Might not matter for some people, but for others it should be disclosed prior to booking. We still had a great time visiting the area and the house was VERY clean and beautiful.

All we hoped for and more!
We had a great stay here with our family of 4. The kitchen and bathroom are luxurious! It was nice to have a safe enclosed space for our son to play in the back yard as well. Spencer was very helpful and accommodating. The property is conveniently located and very quiet. Highly recommend it!

Nice house for a longer stay
We stayed for 1 week over spring break with my family of 4. After an initial hiccup where the new fouton was too small for our two kids to sleep on, Spencer came by the next morning with a new air mattress, sheets and pillow, and offered a partial refund for that night. The house is spacious, clean, and well-stocked, with off-street parking and a nice back-yard with a hammock that the kids loved. The location is convenient for walking to nearby stores and restaurants, and a short drive to many nearby sites and beaches, although a bit too far from any beach for our family to walk. Overall a fun place to stay!

The property was clean and nicely renovated. It was very comfortable with plenty of space -
so much better than a hotel room! The location was in a great trendy neighborhood with lots of good restaurants in a short distance. The owner was very friendly and attentive to any needs that we may have had. I would highly recommend this property.

Clean property, close to shops, restaurant and beach with a great support from the host
The property is as described and everything is clean and you will find it in a good condition. Close to Spencers home you will find some good restaurants and the beach is 5 minutes away with the car. We had rent bikes for some days and that was a great experience to visit all the great places ( Venice, Santa Monica Beach, Abbot Kinney and Marina) on an easy way.
The kitchen is fill equipped, the dryer and the wash machine is working well and there was enough place for our family with four persons.
We really love the stay at Spencer place and we had some awesome days in Venice. We appreciate his support and his hospitality. Spencers recommendations were very helpful and special the baby blues was a great experience for me and my family.

Great Location! Private Parking! Spacious! Quiet Neighborhood!
If you are like us that does not like to stay at hotels and want to enjoy the privacy of a spacious home with everything you need at your fingertips, this is a great place to stay. Kitchen had all the amenities, restaurants and shopping all walking distance, very quiet neighborhood and your very own parking space - which was very important for us. Spencer was available 24/7 - ready to help and address your needs. Highly recommended.

Light, clean, spacious, modernist interior; comfortable furnishings, fascinating decor
Best thing was the private and attractive backyard and deck, opening from kitchen and master bedroom. The house was comfortable and well-equipped, full of fascinating pictures, books, rock'n'roll memorabilia. The location is good, near shops and buses, good breakfast round the corner at Maxwells. Not too far from trendy Abbot Kinney and the beach; if you're fit you can walk it. Quiet, interesting neighborhood felt safe. We have lived nearby in Sunset Park Santa Monica, driven by Spencer's corner dozens of times - it was such fun to live there briefly. Great place for entertaining local friends and relatives!
