The house was lovely, clean, and well located. The Northstar neighborhood offers a lot of great services, including a free, on demand shuttle and walking trails up to the village area.
Only complaints were the beds. All of the adults had mostly sleepless nights from poor quality mattresses and pillows. Would have been five stars, otherwise.

We had a great time. The house is sizable and was perfect for our needs. The proximity to Northstar with their bus service made it easy for everyone to follow their own schedules.

The location is beautiful and very convenient to everything you want to do - golf, the Lake, downtown Truckee, river rafting, hiking. The property is on a cul-de-sac, so it’s very private with lots of space and a nice hiking trail just behind the house. The house is beautiful with plenty of space for a large group. The family room is comfortable and big. We had a great time, the only negative was the floors were dusty and not so clean and the carpet needed vacuuming. We tried using the vacuum but it had almost no suction and didn’t work. Communication with the host was very good. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything needed if you want to cook. Overall, a great place and would definitely recommend it.

This was our second time booking this property and our family ages 14-70 really enjoyed our stay which was a 50th wedding anniversary trip for my parents. The home is beautiful and well maintained and provides all the comforts of home. We look forward to another return trip in the future.

This is one of those special rental homes where the description and pictures in the listing under-represent the quality of the actual property itself! Our family greatly enjoyed the NorthStar/Tahoe lifestyle in large part due to this "Luxury Tree Lodge."
This multi-level cabin is in a cul-de-sac, so it is very quiet and secluded. The house is quite spacious and easily accommodated our family of 7 adults and 2 kids. The furnishings are top-notch and comfy, and the decor unique. The kitchen was well-appointed with fully-functioning appliances and cookware, and we were able to expertly prepare/serve all our meals "in-house" with great satisfaction and ease.
There is ample lighting throughout the home, and ceiling fans are strategically placed throughout the home to move warm air during the summer months (we rented in July). A large two-car garage housed our two suv-s while a 3rd car parked in the driveway. There is a forested hill immediately behind the house that leads to a hiking/biking trail that will take you directly into the N-Star Village at the top of the hill.
Sheri and Kristi promptly answered the couple of questions we had and made us feel very welcome during our entire stay. All in all, this is a superb vaca home and invites repeat stays - a five-star property for sure and highly recommended!

Great size for seven of us. A great master bedroom with amazing shower! Second bedroom with Queen size bed upstairs with access to full bath. Bunk beds downstairs with a hide-a-bed + a second guest suite with half bath all in a great area with easy access to golf course, village or only a few minutes to Kings Beach or Truckee. We will be renting this property again.

We loved our stay at the Luxury Tree Lodge. We were a group of three adults, three teenagers and two younger children. The house was spacious enough for us by far, and laid out well, with two bedrooms upstairs and two downstairs. The garage had tall thresholds so we could pull our suv in even with the roof box on, which was nice. Sheri at Vacay was super responsive and helpful. The only issue worth noting, and I believe it's noted in the property description, is that a two-wheel drive car wouldn't be able to make it up the driveway when there's snow or ice on the ground. But then you likely wouldn't be driving a 2wd in those conditions anyway, so probably not a big deal. Overall we had a great stay. I'd rent again.

It is in a great location for all our interests (mountain biking, swimming, working out, getting to the Lake or to Truckee) and it is spacious, beautiful and well equipped. Perfect Northstar location
Welcoming, stylish, spacious, comfortable, private … are only a few things to describe this wonderful home. Very well stocked. Plush living room sofas to relax. Four real bedrooms - 2 car garage with table tennis. Landscaped back hill. Easy shuttle drives to the village. The only item the toddlers missed was a bathtub. A soaking tub was the only one available. But they survived! Would rent this property property again - summer or winter.

Beautifully property and really enjoyed our stay. The only complaint is that the home was hot/no AC and the weather was warm so we had trouble sleeping/cooling off. We called the property manager and they brought over floor fans for each room and that help us sleep better. We would certainly consider this property again.

The house is as it is pictured; a well built home with beautiful finishes. Reservations were easily confirmed & staff were responsive & helpful. The house accommodated 5 teenage boys and three adult parents comfortably with plenty of space for all to move about, and is truly pet friendly; our Beagle was happy & comfortable. The location in proximity to the Northstar Village was as expected. We wanted peace and quiet, but not too far away from the village activities. The Rec center staff were very accommodating & friendly. I highly recommend this home for its quality construction, comfort, and convenient location.

We had the BEST time staying in the Northstar Luxury Tree Lodge. I was nervous it would be too small from the pictures but was pleasantly surprised to see how large, spacious and cozy this home was (we very comfortably fit 8 people) The free shuttle to Northstar made getting to and from the Mountain a stress free breeze and we spent almost all of our free time at the house because we enjoyed it so much. Highly recommend booking for your next vacation, we absolutely will be back and appreciated how easy it was to work with the management company.

this property is just as nice as depicted in the photos! Sherri at VACAY (management company) was very helpful with my multitude of questions. The location to Northstar ski resort can't be beat and the guest pass for the recreation center is a great perk.

Overall we had a nice stay there. Nice little home. Great location. Note: no hot tub.
Our only issue was that we had to haul out our own garbage at the end of the stay and take it to dumpsters a couple miles away. And you had to bring the pass for the dumpsters back to the house so you couldn't even do it on the way out. Meanwhile we were charged a large cleaning fee!

Great Family Getaway!
Our family of eight- kids to grandparents stayed a week and we had a wonderful time. Very clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We cooked or Bbq’d every night and kitchen had what we needed. The home is lovely- decorated nicely for an upscale mountain retreat. No a/c and it was 90 plus degrees for first few days but the house does literally sit in the trees and we opened windows in the morning and evenings and house cooled down just fine. We would definitely stay here again!

2 weeks at Northstar
This is a family friendly and spacious property with easy access to hiking trails, Northstar, and the golf course. We enjoyed the neighborhood, the cul-de-sac location, and the layout of the home was perfect for our family of 5. The home is well appointed and the property manager brought the items we needed quickly upon arrival. We brought our non-shedding family dog and did find some dog hair on the rugs from other pets, but we were fine with that as we are a dog family ourselves.

Beautiful!
The house is even more beautiful than the pictures. The 4 bedrooms are spacious and comfortable. The kitchen has pretty much every appliance you could need. Just up the hill from the property you can get to the trail system that runs for miles around the Northstar property--perfect for morning hikes with dogs. The management was extremely responsive, friendly and helpful. The one thing that would have completed it would be a table for dining outside

Great House at Northstar
This house was exactly as advertised, comfortable and spacious. The finishes are nice and the house is well maintained. The layout was perfect for our two families traveling with kids. The Northstar shuttle picks up right in front of the house. The kitchen was spacious and well-equipped. We would definitely stay here again and it seemed like it would be an equally great location in summer time!

Awesome labor day weekend stay!
My family and friends and I stayed at this location over the long weekend (9 adults in total). We were very happy with our stay!
Pros:
We were really impressed by the place. The place was bigger than expected and the listing photos actually made the place look smaller than it actually is. The overall feel and design of the house was very homey and inviting.
The cleanliness was top notch. Shoes had to be left by the garage so we were walking barefoot and we were surprised that our feet didn't turn black from any trance of dust.
Rooms were evenly spaced out in the spacious house.
Kitchen is well stocked with various cooking utensils, appliances and pots/pans. The double oven was pretty cool.
Garage can fit two cars + driveway can fit additional cars
Property manager was extremely friendly and helpful on the phone.
Cons:
It was a hot weekend but even though we turned up the temperature in the house, it was always hot in the main floor. Only the basement level ever became cold. The temperature controller was also hard to find and hidden down in the basement.
The doors were really hard to deal with and the locks should be replaced. We spent a good deal struggling with locking the doors.
CLEANING FEE is not worth it and overpriced. Even though the reservation comes with a cleaning fee ($295!!!!), there were many rules about cleaning up the house such as:
- Throwing the trash in a remote location we had to drive to (and could only enter if we had a specific pass we had to return in the house)
- Throwing in the dishes we used in the dishwasher.
Honestly, cleaning up after ourselves is totally fine and understandable. However, if we are being charged a large amount for cleaning, throwing the trash should be taken care of by the cleaners.
Listing didn't mention anything about having extra charges. The property manager called me that $39 had to be added for damage insurance purposes. She called to confirm with me before charging it on my card. This was not a big deal for us, but I think that info should have been on the listing so future renters know that info beforehand.
Some kitchen items are a little worn out such as the knives and can openers. There were two can openers-- one broken and the other hard to use. Some items probably needs replacing.

Beautiful home
We enjoyed our stay very much, the house overall is very beautiful, the property is backed up to a hillside area that has lots of pine trees and a trail heading up the hill intersects the backside area.
The beds were a little stiff and the plates and bowls may need replacing soon. Taking the garbage out to a central location away from the property by car was a bit of a hassle to considering the rental cost.
Overall though we liked staying there very much.

My family and I had a great time, we only spend 2 nights and it was our first time coming to the lake, but for sure we Will be veré again

Great large home for (multi) family vacation
The property is excellent. 4 bedrooms and bathrooms to easily accommodate a large group. The kitchen is well stocked and the chromecast TV was great. The ping pong table in the garage was a nice surprise and well used during our visit. Thank you for sharing your great home with us!
